With the Coronavirus decimating the stock market the last few months, now is the best time to invest in stocks. I know a lot of users here are way more knowledgeable than I am when it comes to stocks, so Im making this topic to collectively pool together insight.

We appear to be in an upswing and the market may be on its way to a return to normalcy. With that being said, there is still ample opportunity to make gains, especially if a second wave hits.

We are currently looking into a variety of airlines, cruise lines, financial companies, casino/resorts, and random good news companies. What else do you guys got?

THE STEADY HOLD METHOD
You put $1,000 in stock A at $5 and sell it at $6.
This is a 20% gain which comes out to a $200 profit.

THE SELL AND PARTIAL RE-INVEST METHOD
You put $1,000 in stock A at $5.00. It goes up to $5.50 at which point you sell. You immediately buy back in for another $1,000 at $5.50. It goes up to $6 and you sell.
This starts with a $100 profit in the first sale, and a 9.1% profit the second time ($91). This comes to $191 profit.

THE SELL AND FULL RE-INVEST METHOD
You put $1,000 in stock A at $5.00. It goes up to $5.50 at which point you sell. You immediately buy back in using your original $1,000 plus the profit of $100, totaling $1,100 at $5.50. It goes up to $6 and you sell.
This is a 10% profit the first time you sell to for a $100 profit and a 9.1% profit the second time for a $100.09 profit, totaling a $200.09 profit.

THE SELL AND MARKET TIMING METHOD
You put $1,000 in stock A at $5.00. It goes up to $5.50 at which point you sell. It then drops to $5.25 at which point you put in another $1,000. It goes up to $6 and you sell.
This is a 10% profit the first time you sell it ($100 profit) and a 14.29% profit the second time ($143 profit). This comes to $243 profit.

This is not a perfect science as there are numerous variables such as risks with attempting to time the market, how high the stock ends up reaching, how much you reinvest after selling, etc etc.

I will be surprised if GNUS stays above 8.50 in the first 15 minutes.

(I am holding because I expect a dip and bounce)

I put a $25 limit for ZI. 800 shares. It should open around 1pm at $21. Im gonna have to watch my phone like a hawk so I can see exactly when it opens in case I need to sell it.

GNUS popped 11 and I think it just got halted right now due to volatility

smarter people than me have said that if it hits that number it might be time to pull out. currently on halt #3 for the day at a measly 9.74. when it was at 11+ a minute before that. GNUS christ

SAVE continues it's climb, good job to whoever got into it. Airlines in general, kudos to everyone on here for pushing those names. We've been pushing them since around early May

My stop loss hit at 7.71 but I tried to make a stop loss at 9.50 that never went through :( Turns out you have to edit and replace the order or cancel it on Ameritrade to make a new one. Reaaaaaly wish it auto-replaced it, but hey, I made 10k so not complaining!

That was a damn fun ride.

Also apparently someone made an offer for GNUS shares at 2, hence the insane downturn.

damn should have pulled out when it hit that billion market cap -- that was THE moment it dropped. should've listened!

I mean I am sorry but if you don't know when to get in and how to place stops on volatile stocks then don't go after heavy stocks.

Yeah. People following these topics have been told / learned how to play the meme and volatile stocks. Cant believe I sold at $5.90 for a measly $200 profit yesterday. Oh well

LK up 25% today. We're very close to the highest post-halt territory now.

Man I sold my SAVE shares yesterday to put back in GNUS, not knowing anything about funds needing to be settled before becoming available. Should've just kept those shares. That baby is skyrocketing.

I put my GNUS winnings (I like this term) into AAL. Obviously AAL is going to be going up in the next 6 months so I can just sit and forget about it.

Im staying away. I saw it drop like a meteor and I easily could have lost $30k if I invested at the wrong time. Too volatile for my blood.

I have yet to get into the cruise lines and airlines. They keep gaining and gaining though.

Thought about buying some GNUS at $4.73....chickened out but in any case, it was halted so probably couldn't have gotten a trade off at that price.

I am staying as far away as possible from LK. I KNOW that I will lose money on it. It is currently
my second biggest gainer though at around $2,200. I sold it the day after it plummeted at around $7.20 before it melted.

I sold just now and doubled my money.
