Got my latest test results back. Still normal. At my current rate of weight loss, I'm 1 month away from being clinically underweight and they didn't even schedule a follow up. I don't know what I'm supposed to do. I'm kinda freaking out here. It's like 2 months till I have to be hospitalized for this, maybe 3 and they just have no answers and don't seem to give a single fuck. Am I gonna die from this? Why would they not schedule another test or visit or anything? They've told me nothing. I guess I'm just on my own. Maybe I'd be better off not going back anyway.

In the 6 months I've been going to the hospital I've gotten 3 infections from them and they prescribed a medication that was recently recalled cause it can cause cancer and I've seen no benefit whatsoever. How do these people even have a job?

Yeah, it's a bummer. Oh well, the initial wave of fear and anger are gone. Watched the first several episodes of chihayafuru which I'm liking. I actually wasn't enjoying it at first and almost dropped it but I'm glad I stuck with it a little.

It's another one of those stories where I can easily tell it's written by a woman though because the guys just don't quite make sense but it's so far more enjoyable than the last series I said that about.

When I saw a doctor in an urgent care a few months ago, they completely missed a large bruise on my back during the examination. Like wtf? >_<

Yeah. The first 3-4 episodes are back story that just wasn't that exciting to watch for me but once they got back to the present and started trying to create the club it got more fun for me. Also they don't even explain the damn rules of the game until like episode 7 or something which is a shame because they aren't very complicated. Main girl is as dense as a harem protag though and the guys are far too emotional and dramatic. A lot of problems that come up could be solved instantly by actual humans capable of basic conversation.

Also I irrationally despise the way they sing the poems during the game. If they just read them in a normal voice I'd like it 50x more.

Despite being anti-censorship, I still ordered Conception Plus. On the one hand, I dislike the idea of failing to stand on principle. On the other hand, I get to play the game without having to import the PSP version and flail through Japanese menus.

And, despite saying I was going to cancel my pre-order of the Switch version of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, I ... do not seem to have done that.

Maybe I'm getting tired of fighting what I know is a losing battle. I've learned a lot by playing through, say, Three Houses, but, if there's one thing I've picked up from that game and its popularity, it's that the age of the fan service JRPG is probably over. Remember: Three Houses isn't censored. It's the same across all regions. Going forward, we're probably going to see more like that, meaning that games that aren't censored. Instead, there'll be games with nothing to censor.

That's a fair point. As far as actual censorship goes, we absolutely can make a difference if we stick to our guns; fewer game sales means less money for the creators, which means less money for Sony when those companies realize staying the course isn't working.

But there's not a whole lot we can do if the games get neutered of any questionable content while still in development. That may well be the case more and more in the future, in which case the whole censorship battle would essentially be a worthless victory at best.

But that's assuming that companies connect lower sales to censorship instead of just assuming that it's a poor-performing franchise. You might just have them write off games instead of doing those games differently.

Idk, japanese companies seem pretty shit about that. They release broken steam ports, the game sells poorly cause it's literally broken garbage which the horde of negative reviews and steam forum posts detail explicitly, "the pc audience doesn't have interest in this series".

For me personally, even though I am very anti-censorship, I'll still buy games I'm really looking forward to. If I don't feel like I must play the game, then I'll avoid it though. Like if the next monster hunter was censored somehow, I'm still gonna get it, I'm just gonna whine a lot, but if the next final fantasy has censorship then fuck that game.

I swear the entire japanese PC porting thing is done by one intern with a bag of chips for the budget. Bad ideas executed poorly with no community response whatsoever after release. Like I imagine the actual board meeting is something like "do we put out a PC version" "I don't wanna, no one uses that shit over here" "ah come on, just do it for like 5 bucks and we'll make a little money and no one we know will care cause it's PC and this is japan".

Credit to the few who have done it well. IIRC trails of cold steel just hired an actual modder to do it and it came out great with built in turbo mode, solid optimization, and lots of settings.

Been watching Beelzebub-jou no Okinimesu mama. Fluffy is the only way to describe it. After this, I'm gonna watch Conception, which is just rated terribly, but maybe it'll be entertaining. Going to see if people don't like it cause it sucks and is legit bad, or if the concept was just unappealing to a lot that watched it.

Maybe not as bad as the Akiba's Trip anime, though.

Hmm, if it's legit bad, I may just skip it. Still have a couple eps left of Beelzebub and there's always Conan eps to watch in a pinch. Highly looking forward to this season ending, since I get Vinland and Dr. Stone, in addition to shows from this season.

I've still yet to play a Persona, though I'd like to get 5. Finally beat the main story in Spiderman, so I'm thinking of hopping back into DQ11 and tackling the post game. Finished my Grimgar rewatch and I really want to play an rpg as a sneaky dagger thief, but it'd be best if it let you sneak kill enemies.

The Game Stop release date for P5R is March 31, 2020, but that is also the release date for a number of other games (including Langrisser I & II, to my annoyance), so it might move, especially with FFVIIR happening not long before then. EDIT -- No HTML codes for bold, italics, and the like any more? Strange.

I wanted to watch a nice ecchi harem but I've seen every non trash ecchi already so I settled for watching kampfer since it had the promise of some yuri at least. The first episode was honestly pretty good and had me thinking maybe it'd actually be solid. It was not. In episode 3 they basically decide "eh, I'm bored with the plot, lets just do highschool nonsense for half the series then have 1 episode of plot at the end". This would have been fine but the highschool nonsense just wasn't good.

It DID have some yuri though. Mostly just in terms of romance without any action but there were several yuri scenes and the OVA episodes went hard on that.

All in all it was about what I expected going in. Bad but still watchable because I am yuri trash and out of good things to watch.

Just went through MAL looking more yuri and ecchi. A bit annoyed as expected.

Firstly, I still don't understand why MAL treats the yuri tag as hentai only. The only anime they give it to are hentai and for gods sake futa is not yuri. Futa-bu should not be on a yuri list but it's literally like 3 of the top 5. Shoujo ai is what they use for yuri despite that not really being a genre but whatever. Shoujo ai is literally less than 80 shows. It's so lame. About 50% of the shows not rated garbage are maria-sama which yuri bait at best. Seriously man, this genre is so tragic. I need anime people to get on this and give me good yuri.

Then I went through ecchi which was good cause my new MAL account isn't remotely filled in so I was able to add 100 or so shows pretty quick. Somehow though, gantz 2nd season is rated higher than gantz. How is this possible?!?! Gantz 2nd season is universally understood to be an abomination and very possibly the worst anime original ending of all time (although yami to boushi deserves it more IMO). Meanwhile gantz 1st season was relatively well recieved. How has this happened? It'd be like finding out star wars episode 1 was the highest rated star wars movie or something but more surprising actually.

As expected though pretty much any ecchi anime that doesn't immediately ring a bell is actually barely ecchi at all or like 500 years old. Almost feels like a dead genre these days but I guess they are still making it, it's just they keep making them super awful so I forget they exist. It's kinda telling that almost all the highly rated ecchi anime is from series that are 10+ years old with a few exceptions like prison school and shokugeki no souma.

Also still waiting for a yuri ecchi harem or preferably like 1000 of em. Kampfer was probably as close as I've seen but it only half counts because the main character is a guy half the time. Other than that valkyrie drive mermaid and this really shitty short series with triangle in the name that I can't quite remember are about as close as I can find. It'd be so easy to make, I just don't understand why it doesn't exist. Even most yuri VNs take the yuri ghosts approach where they just follow a bunch of pairs of girls instead of harem which I don't mind but I want variety.

Searching for new anime or MMOs always leaves me feeling the same way. At least PSO2 is coming out next year although I loathe to consider a hub based dungeon runner game an MMO. I had fun on the japanese version and would probably like it a lot more with an official english community. Huge props to the translation team for the japanese version. That unnoficial patcher and translation were very solid.

I think the only real reason it's included is because barely any real yuri exists in hentai or anime for reasons that I don't understand. Anime includes yuri bait very successfully all the time but for some reason the idea of just elevating those good shows with yuri bait to full yuri just escapes anime producers/writers. The one time they kinda did, yuru yuri, it was probably the most successful yuri anime out there (tied for highest rated at least).

Just another of the thousand or so baffling things about the anime industry and their allergy to good business decisions and money.

Speaking of ecchi harems, Conception Plus is that, and it is superior to the anime. (Granted, that is not hard to do, but there it is.) Playing it has helped me to understand why the number of girls in the harem was reduced from twelve in the first game to seven in the second: Of the thirteen girls in Plus (twelve plus one for the remake), I would say about half of them are ... uninteresting at best, unpleasant at worst. Different players will have different experiences, but there was only one girl in the sequel that I outright disliked (Narika).

I'm just as confused as you and I've seen it criticized for quite a while. I'm guessing somehow BL got switched to shonen ai (it is a literal translation I guess) cause idiots and they just decided shoujo ai was the yuri version but idk.

I should probably play conception at some point but I just despise kids and pregnancy to an unreasonable degree so I've always avoided it.

it is extremely good, please read it

it really does feel like a bunch of good aspects of Umineko, Danganronpa, the 999 series, and Higurashi's setting mashed up to be something unique and great. it combines textbook mafia/werewolf scenarios with a cast of characters who have their own tendancies, biases, and goals, and it really feels like it's hard to predict what will happen even five minutes from now because it stays interesting throughout

art was funky at first but i've grown to really like it; only part i don't like is the overuse of bright+dark colors in CGs

but most importantly of all, the protagonist is both voiced an incredibly interesting character in his own right. i've always believed a good protagonist can make or break a story, and Haruaki is absolutely interesting
