This was in fact the type of toilet we saw in the cell.

Except there was just one, and the sink portion was not functioning - @AyannaPressley smartly tried to open the faucet, and nothing came out.

So the women were told they could drink out of the bowl.

I'm no plumber but I'm pretty sure if there's running water for the toilet, there's running water for the sink. They're the same mechanism.

Fun fact about the us military:
A man who was photographed with "communism will win" in his west point graduation hat was given an "other than honorable discharge", meaning no vet benefits and extremely poor job prospects, and called a threat to national security by Marco Rubio

1/3 members of the US military say they personally work with someone they would call a white supremacist, and an avowed Nazi was punished but not discharged when this information was brought to his superiors.

"Special Operator First Class Corey Scott, a SEAL medic, said that he saw Gallagher pull out his knife and stab the prisoner under his collar bone at least once.
On cross-examination, Scott told the defense that he never saw any blood after the stabbing. That's when Scott claimed he caused the prisoner's death by holding his thumb over his trachea tube until he suffocated.

Scott described the killing as an act of mercy because he was concerned the boy -- a prisoner of the Iraqi forces -- would be tortured by the Iraqis."

He stabbed him but no blood at all so I suffocated him because I was concerned Iraqis might torture him.

I am seriously concerned you guys don't even look into things when posting your hot takes.

Zero chance he gets prosecuted after that testimony.

No youre right, stabbing someone under the collarbone at least once regularly produces no blood at all.

Lets also ignore the other witnesses who testified that they saw the stabbing and subsequent death.

https://www-m.cnn.com/2019/06/30/politics/eddie-gallagher-navy-seal-trial/index.html

You are like making stuff up.

There is no corroboration of how he died. No autopsy. The entire case was predicated on the testimony of the witness who changed his story.

There were other witnesses that said he fired at noncombatants but his spotter called out his shots and they agreed it was a good target in a high stress situation.

How can it be premeditated murder if the medic outright said he killed him. And not because he was "helping him die quickly" but because he was concerned that when captured he would be tortured.

That presumes the person would have lived and been captured after.

"NCIS reported that a second class petty officer also saw Gallagher stab the prisoner, but later internal messages shared between defense attorneys and Navy officials appear to indicate that he thought the chief sank his knife into the detainees torso and the boy already had died.

So he stabbed a corpse."

"The sniper whos now a civilian claimed he saw Gallagher shoot an elderly man in his 70s or 80s on Fathers Day, 18 June 2017, a shooting backed up by a first class petty officer now assigned to Naval Special Warfare Development Group often called DEVGRU or SEAL Team 6, according to NCIS records.

Both are expected to testify that it was clear the man was a noncombatant and they made the decision not to shoot, according to a filing provided to defense attorneys.

Another SEAL told investigators that he saw Gallagher shoot the elderly man in the back and watched him drop to the ground and saw blood on his back, but its unclear if hell testify.

Another sniper who also has indicated he might not testify later told prosecutors that he saw an old man go down, but he didnt see Gallagher shoot him, according to emails to prosecutors provided to Navy Times."

^ This is the person his spotter called out and they agreed was a combatant, maybe erroneously in a high combat situation.

https://www.navytimes.com/news/your-navy/2019/04/22/what-motivated-fellow-seals-to-dime-out-eddie-gallagher/

The main evidence was the testimony of this lead witness, as no body or other proof existed. He flipped his story.

Everything else is conflicting testimonies that cannot be verified and contradict themselves at times between witnesses, in regards to other events.

How were you ever going to prove this case without that testimony? To be honest, the case was hard to prove even with the testimony and would have come down to those deciding it.

Good article that sort of highlights something that is usually lost in the immigration debate - much of the reason these immigrants are coming to the US is because of US backed regimes creating environments that cause people to flee. I don't suspect this would change the mind of anyone who loves our concentration camps, but it certainly highlights the fact that one step in a progressive immigration policy must be a change in our foreign policy (and also addressing climate change)

Stop being Corrik, Corrik

There was 3 main witnesses regarding it.

1. Craig Miller who said he cut him around his jugular. He was found to be inconsistent and hazy on all other details the day.

2. Corey Scott who said he actually killed the person and not Gallagher and all the wounds were not life threatening. Flipping his story.

3. A third unnamed seal who was later not called after Corey Scott's admission who was to testify Gallagher stabbed a dead corpse and not a live person.

"Seven SEALs, including two who said they witnessed the act, accused Gallagher of repeatedly stabbing an injured teenage ISIS fighter in the neck and body while other members of the team were treating his wounds in May of 2017. He then allegedly posed in front of the corpse as part of a reenlistment ceremony."

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/navy-seal-edward-gallagher-trial-found-not-guilty-murder-isis-fighter-today-2019-07-02/

Who are all these other witnesses? 1 witness said he stabbed him in the jugular. 1 was to say he stabbed a dead corpse. 1 said he stabbed him but there was no blood and nothing was life threatening and that he himself had killed the person (under immunity).

Again. Ignoring what?

You are literally arguing in a case with no physical evidence that you should accept the account of a person who cannot verify many details about the day over two other witnesses who said he didn't kill the person, including one who admitted he himself killed the person.

Like, what exactly sort of justice do you subscribe to? And, I get it. You can't just admit you are wrong so you say dumb things like "stop being Corrik" when you are flat out proven wrong with multiple sources.

You have shaky circumstantial evidence, no physical evidence, and witness accounts that all differ and the majority clear him of murder, let alone premeditated murder.
