Yeah that Mets game was unfortunate. They had so many chances to win. And I stayed up thinking they'd get the walk off eventually.

Fortunately the Yankees beat up on Ryu early on. Was able to go to bed with them winning 7-1.

Giants clutch out 2 straight from the A's to claw back to .500 yet again. 32 games to play, 4 games from a WC spot, the hunt for an orange October lives!

It's still really dumb that they got swept by the Cubs, their direct wild card competitor and then follow it up with a good performance against a superior team that they aren't competing with for a spot.

But what's done is done. 2 games with Arizona are next followed by 4 with San Diego. I'm hoping for a 5-1 home stand, or at least a 4-2 where we take both from Arizona.

You could make an argument that the Mets would break the Nets' $3.5 billion record if they were to sell. I don't know how they aren't salivating over that idea considering profits seem to matter more to them than rings.

The Cubs are going to crush the Brewers and end our season in the next two weeks. The Brewers are great at choking when it really counts this year.

Also, Im pretty sure the Cubs get Zach Davies one of their games this series. The Brewers would be better off not playing and taking the loss for an extra rest day, instead of playing the game and being down 6 runs by the third inning.

Wont be the Brewers. Our season ended as soon as Davies returned from injury and was put back in the rotation. I think the Cardinals take the division, the Cubs get a wildcard, and the Brewers learn a hard lesson about how you need to spend on quality pitching.

Verlander carried a no hitter (walked the second batter of the and that's it) through the 8th and the Astros finally scored runs for him with two outs in the 9th

So ok if he doesn't walk the first batter that's a 14 strikeout perfect game instead of a no hitter.

(This feels like it's emblematic of the Jays season to find a way to give up runs with two outs in the 9th after only giving up three hits until through 8 themselves.)
