you need to go into every little extra zone and complete it. Have you done the east part of the map yet?

Not every extra zone. I think there are 3 specific areas you need to get into. They all end with a boss fight.

Been running with this for like 2 hours to unreasonable success. I don't know if the AI has caught on and is just like "it's fine, just let him have his fun" but I haven't run into much that I can't PAUNCH my way through yet.

And James McCloud is the second legendary primary spirit I've beaten/obtained. Woo. I have a green and a blue, but still need a red (though Primal Groudon's still plenty strong as an ace spirit). Fox's AI isn't good at dealing with upward swinging sword attacks it seems.

WoL is an absolutely incredible experience though.

That last bit was absolutely the most satisfying single player Smash experience I have ever had.

Going to reiterate how much I hate the elite smash requirements. I havent played a lot online, but I'm starting off sitting at like 950k. Ok, have a couple dumb team battles, a 4 way, some stupid rules(2 stock, 3 minutes vs a K. Rool which ended in a dumb sudden death loss despite him being at like 200% on his last stock to my like 30).

So then I fight a Lucina. Now most generic swordsman, they just lose to my Lucario. Not this one, he was actually good, he cracked his way in. Thats not something people do often and I wanted to keep playing him to download a bit of his game and get better. Hes beating me pretty consistently, but I'm learning. Learning in fighting games is fun and important and he has standard rules and stages so I'm not playing anyone dumb or people with dumb connections.

Except when I get out, my GSP is literally sub 100k and I'm now miles away from elite smash because I chose to play a guy to get myself better at the game. I just want to play the game online with nothing dumb but for whatever reason nintendo put this stupid barrier in the way.

It sucks cause the single player is so good but online multiplayer is more a chore than anything.

Nintendo and making sensible online modes just don't go together. It's telling that when they finally did something resembling a good idea with the whole For Fun/For Glory divide, they decided they needed to undo it for the next game

So this is slightly odd maybe, but what's the best character/combo for general boss killing? I'm not having trouble with any of them per se, but it feels like I'm doing it super slowly and suboptimally. Generally speaking, when I knock one down, I basically just spam smash attacks regardless of what character I'm playing. Which feels like there has to be a better option.

Or maybe I was just spoiled by Rock Smash in Brawl and there isn't one.

So is there some trick to getting more than just 735-835 GP from ruin runs? I figured I'd be finding items or spirits from them, but nope. Just somewhat small sums of GP over and over.

There are three different explore locations that give different things. The ruins pretty much only give SP but it's the quickest to run.

That said, I've gotten more than ~800 from it, so I think it depends on the spirits you send too? I usually just send whoever the game recommends and get over 1000.

Yeah Peachline just killed herself for me too, luckily not even the AI can navigate 75m successfully.

Kirby's Up B sent her down far enough into the bottom of the screen that she couldn't recover. It also almost sent ME far enough to the bottom of the screen but luckily not quite.

I think from basic experimentation that level and condition are the driving factors, sl the way to go is Sort By Condition and send the highest levels that have the red up arrow markers.

I'm sure there are plenty of good answers. Mine is Bowser.

Also they seem to get some sort of armor effect after having taken so much damage after being knocked down.

Development actually started around February of 2016
Sakurai was aware of the Switch fairly early on and had been shown its design from the planning stages
Sakurai didnt really consider changing the layout based on what mode the game was played in
The Switchs LCD was a lot clearer than he had thought; there werent any problems even when in tabletop mode
Changing the layout between the portable, tabletop, and docked modes meant the teams work would have had to have been two-fold
It was pretty important in the grand scheme of things that it ended up not being necessary
On people struggling against the harder Spirits: Its important that your level should sufficiently match your opponents your immediate goal should be to level up your Spirits as you fight, not trying to do it in one giant leap.
Using King K. Rools stomach armor-based moves will grant him super armor. Taking too much damage will cause it to crack and leave him dazed, though.
Sakurai says that for online battles, itd probably be best if you didnt think too hard about how many wins and losses you have
Even if you have access to both, he believes itd be better to just look at how much youve won
Sakurai will take another look at Elite Matches after some time has passed, when its a little more intense
On the next Smash game: Itd be fine if there wasnt another one for about 10 years, dont you think? (laughs)

my personal go-to for tough WoL challenges has been Captain Falcon with all spirits set for increased fire/explosive damage

hes one of the fastest characters and it makes all of his specials much more useful, especially his Falcon Kick. Falcon Punches are even better and will do insane damage with the boost
