Board 8 > What should my next board project be?

Thanks to everyone who kept me entertained on my last project, but as there is still no end in sight for dull days at work, I require of you more suggestions. I'm looking for something fun that people will actually be willing to follow with some regularity. I mainly am looking for discussion in and amongst whatever the project is.

Well I could do that for sure.

I do user-nominated rankings and/or ratings a lot. They also seem to work out decently well.

I once did a "Scarlet Writes the DCU" which was fun. I did that Scarlet Plots a Crossover Featuring User-Nominated Characters. I enjoyed that too.

I used to run some daily "rate the X" series but usually someone bitched and I gave up on them.

Yeah, ranking/rating projects just get so demotivating on B8 because people make it increasingly evident there are people that just whine about the ranking and will never read the work you put in to explain why it's worse than things above it.

I wasn't talking about those, actually. This last wrestling one I did was great because, while there have been different opinions, I've really enjoyed learning about those opinions from the people posting. There's been a lot of great conversation imo.

I mean like when I ran the "Batman is..." topics, someone would bitch that I didn't include something or make joke votes in the topic.

More or less this is how I feel btw. The caveat being I probably won't post as much if I lack the experience with the source material or inclination to talk about it. The latter I mostly mean something like music-- to me it's not something that's inherently interesting to discuss cause I don't really have the ability articulate what I do and don't like about music very well, and frankly I don't care enough to even try because to me it feels like a more subjective thing than stories or characters or whatever. I'm sure some people feel differently about this but *shrug*

As long as it's something where you're providing a solid backbone of content it should be fun to follow though. I enjoyed that comic book villain topic for example even though I don't exactly have a ton of depth in comics.

I'm thinking maybe I'll do a TEW diary, but not my long term one. I'd like to start a new one, preferably one set in a time period that's not currently or recently been used by someone on Board 8.

Maybe it could be like - dictate 3 story elements or something.

So I could say "Spider-Man", "Quinoa", and "The War of 1812"

The only thing though is that if I did a comic-related thing, I'd rather do something slightly more serious. Like, I plot the Marvel Universe, but everyone else picks the titles and determines if something gets cancelled or continues or make important decisions in the series maybe.

I'm going to do 1995 WCW as a TEW diary. I started a diary a long, long time ago with Sylvester Stallone running WCW, and I'd like to do it again since I only got through one PPV. I'll be starting from scratch, though.
