Keima got a good ship. Lots of series are bad with ships or just randomly lump people together just because one character likes the other while that character shows no romantic interest whatsoever >_>

Ichigo has been causing issues for like the entire season. In fact almost all of the cast, when focused on, have done or tried to do something incredibly dumb or problematic. That is a consistent theme in the show. However, ichigos is the first to really have major significance in terms of how it affects those around her in terms of the character (aka 02) that people (fans) care about. Also, ichigos issue has been a point of contention for the entire series, so theres been a lot more build up .

Thats not even the real issue. I think my biggest problem is that we are Over half way done with the series and I can only speculate things about the story. Up until recently there was no real inclination that anyone (except 02) really questioned anything. Because if the entire show is some bad love triangle and coming of age story with giant robots mixed in then this show is fucking dumb.

For TWGOK, I guess the pairing they went with was okay? It made some sense, thematically. The main problem was the way it was executed. There's no buildup to it over the previous few chapters, it just happens because the series is ending. I don't think Keima shows real interest in any of the girls throughout the series, honestly. I mean, it's there to some extent in some of their arcs (I think Keima gets more flustered when Yui kisses him than at any other point in the series, but Yui never really gets the focus a serious choice would), but eh.

Id say the ship in TWGOK gave Keima his best development scenes

The pairing in TWGOK was great because she's the only normal girl to fall in love with Keima for who he is, rather than who he pretends to be.

Though, yeah, could;ve used a bit more time to cook. That ending was disappointing, but not because of the ship :(

OK so this show is so blatant in it's Madoka ripping off in both mechanics and threat that it 100% has to be intentional and they want you to know that. ClariS cannot be a coincidence either.

That second episode was also actually real and not a nightmare hellscape so I'm pretty on board.

Oh yea I finally got around to watching the second episode of P5A

the animation is rough at times and the pacing is weird, particularly during that opening with them just cutting awkwardly out of the Palace after locking Kamoshida up......but I feel like there's still potential? Like there's little sparks here and there. Hoping they can capitalize on those moments I felt.

Yea the structure of the premise is pretty standard but it's standard for a reason, it works and I like it. Ya go my anime Little Mac (yea I know it's based off Ashita no Joe but I'm more familiar with Little Mac)

Also after hearing the Super Best Friends podcast talking about it, yea I totally get Woolie's thing with it. Like, all these motherfuckers should be DEAD.

Readed Dragon Ball (the first part, before it turns into Z). Pretty fun stuff! I kinda wish there'd been more of the going around adventuring and exploring aspect, but with more depth. Early on everything happens incredibly quickly, to that extent that I feel like slowing down the pacing for the anime version would even have improved it! Basically everything was good in different ways I think though. It was like 170 chapters or whatever, but it never got old. Something new and exciting was almost always happening. Demon King Piccolo arc was the best part I think. Lots of exciting stuff and high stakes. Unfortunately I already knew a lot of the stuff was going to be undone/resolved because I'd already seen Z, but eh. Still good. Think I'll keep reading through Z, though I dunno if I'll be as interested since I've seen it multiple times other than Buu.

King Piccolo and the Tournament Arc after pretty easily destroy everything that came before.

PIccolos still the best even when he's a villain.

The good old days when Yamcha and Tien actually had some good fights. Yamcha vs Tien is still one of the best fights in the series imo

I think the 22nd Budokai tournament is the highlight of pre-Z DB.

Haven't seen sao but you're probably not wrong. The anime for stray dogs has really high production values and a lot of style that the Bleach anime could only dream of. But beyond that it's as bland as it gets.

As you watch/read more of Dragon Ball stuff its apparent how much Toriyama just plain forgot about, never explained or retconned altogether with his writing. Mostly things like the Saiyan tails and I heard he forgot all about Super Saiyan 2 and 3, but I dunno if thats true or just something fans made up. I dont think he ever explained Tiens 3rd eye in the series or why Krillin mysteriously has no nose among other stuff. Also probably forgot Launch existed since she just disappeared and never came back >_>

Yamcha never really has any good fights in DB Classic. He's a jobber throughout the entire series.

Krillin not having a nose is just a joke. The series was pretty heavy on the gags early on. Tien's third eye is no more mysterious than the king of earth being a dog, is it?
