Depends how poor your Earth actually is and how many relics you want from each I think. I'm not sure Maria banner is all that good unless you go kinda hard on it unless you have some half decent Earth already cause Maria Ultra is the only one that looks really great there IIRC. So you pretty much need that or like, a bunch of the other stuff.

Maria's definitely the one I want. But Emperor's attack/magic/resistance breakdown is actually relevant for Ixion. And Guy's USB seems solid too.

Like I wish I could've taken back my draw on this banner 4 cause I still can't beat Golem and honestly I feel like magic might be the better way to attack him given what I have-- like I gave him a shot and Rydia was doing the most damage by far just by blasting him with Tiamat.

If I'd gotten a better draw or Zack's Chain I might've but Cloud's USB ain't enough to move the needle much. And because I'm not willing to draw more I should've just not even bothered with one.

i mean i don't hate Luneth or anything, if i got good stuff for him i'd use him. though i'm hesitant to spend motes for him and really wouldn't want to spend mythril for him. if global wasn't so fucked over mythril-wise or if i had spent better i might have enough to spare on the banner, but with only 100 mythril left it has to go to Yuffie.

@Lopen that makes sense. For Earth right now I have Maria's BSB, Orlandu's USB, and Edge using ninja abilities with his blink SSB. So I'm not totally lacking, but also anything but Maria would be hard to squeeze onto the team. What I really need is a chain so the attacks I actually have do damage.

So, with this gem draw, banner 4 went from one I cared about the maybe most, to absolute least. I have SIX relics on that banner (with the gem draw about to be VII, how's that for a sign) and I be staying far far far away from this shit.

Yeah. I'd try to run what you have against Ixion and try and weigh whether just getting a USB that isn't Maria's would push you over the 30s threshold or beating him or whatever your current goal is. Otherwise go harder on the Water one that's coming.

Wish I'd done that with this wind banner I just kinda assumed Cloud's USB would be a bit more impactful than it is alone but I have the wrong supplemental BSB for him (the KH one which is darkness focused not wind).

For me I almost think crushing Golem with Water overkill is more viable than Wind at the moment. Like I almost want to just bench Cloud cause it's hard to slot him and the amount of mitigation I need and his damage isn't really that high with my current amount for him. I guess Cloud USB will be helpful at some point but yeah.

What I really should've done is possibly gone for the Valvalis banner a few months out and went with a wacky mage team instead I think.

Cloud needs his BSB2 to even do wind damage at all, and with golem needing more of a magic party, not gonna help a huge amount at the moment. plus when you're using physical, you have more HP to go through and have to dispel the protect. maybe when we get the 5* wind spellblade, USB would be enough in that fight.

for now, do you have raging storm? any of Yuffie/Shadow/Edge dove? Yuffie is the MVP in that fight for me with the full 5* dive and two copies of raging storm (one R3, one R2). 10 uses of it is pretty much the limit in 30 seconds so that's an average of 270k damage.

The good thing is that your Cloud should be good for darkness since you have his USB and BSB3. I'm annoyed now that I'll never be able to get his BSB3 because of the dumb Disney contract.

I have a partially dove Yuffie-- am hoping to get some relics for her on this upcoming banner to justify fully diving her. I guess I could go with Yuffie + Rydia blasting the crap out of it and ignore phys entirely and see if that works.

I have Zack's Chain (and BSB) and Bartz USB (and I think OSB) as well as Cloud's USB, and LM.

What type of team should I do?

My sub30 Golem team is Bartz, Zack, Rikku, Shelke and Rosa. Zack is legend dived so he can lifesiphon and start his chain quick, Rikku has mako might and her USB covers mitigation and caps the attack stat, after that she uses dash and slash to contribute to the chain. Rosa wrath's to keep the party healed and magic blink so that they avoid the interrupting quake and since she doesn't need to bring shell/protect she has dispell for Golem's protect. Shelke batteries Zack so he can use his BSB but since we got ripping blast I probably don't need her for that anymore.

What do you guys think are the chances of banners being reopened at the end of fest, and/or a special banner based on the survey we had? I'm torn between pulling again on banner 4, banner 5, or saving my mythril.

Part of my problem is the stuff I really want isn't coming back for a looong time. The current options aren't ideal for me but at least they have a strong overall power level.

Grats to ray and Xuxon on those awesome pulls.

I ended up deciding to hold on to my mythril because I realized two things:

1) Edge's USB (which I have) is closer to Yuffie's USB than I thought because it gives water -> quickcast 1 which is about a 25% DPS boost. And I really don't need more water right now.

2) There are arguably 2 better Terra banners coming up - the event in 2-ish months with Relm's USB, and the next fest where (in JP) her AOSB and USB appear with Gilgamesh's gen-2 fire chain AND Chicken Knife.

So, just gonna target the Maria banner for my next pulls and keep a little mythril stashed in case there are any surprises.

Let's explain what I (possibly) want to draw from before we go further

FFX event. There's a Tidus + Rikku banner there that looks like fun times drawing pretty much anything on it, as well as a Seymour banner. I like both of these things. Seymour's banner is kinda lame aside from the Seymour stuff unfortunately, but I do really like Seymour and this seems like a good one stop for him, and my dark isn't strong yet.
FFII - I want the Minwu stuff and there's a ton of earth stuff there too meaning even if I have bad luck it won't be a waste of time
FFIV - I want the Dark Knight Cecil stuff. DKC has been weak too long. Almost half the banner is Dark Knight Cecil stuff which is nice.
FFVI - I want the Edgar stuff. Edgar has been weak for too long.

I was planning on giving 3x 11 to all of these but the further I go below 400 the more of a long shot that seems, particularly because I only have around 50 realm dungeons on the table right now.

I would really like Yuffie to be strong again though :( It sucks that 2/3 of her really cool things (Glint, USB, and AOSB) don't come back for a really long time.

Alright so assuming I did the math right (do all of these have 1% chance to be drawn?), I should have a 53% chance of getting at least one item I want in my next 11 draw, since I still want 4 items out of 14.

That doesn't seem like the worst odds. It's impressive that I did 3 without getting any.

Let's see. Breaking it down...

There are 3 relics I still want from this. Yuffie Glint and Tidus Chain are the main prizes, but Yuffie AOSB is pretty good too. 3/14. However I'm pretty sour on most of the 11/14 that aren't those 3 either because I've duped the hell out of them or they're for Terra or Krile.

FFX 1 has:
Tidus AOSB, Rikku USB as the big prizes 2/14. But I like almost every relic on the banner sorta, so even if I didn't get the two main draws it's probably not a dead draw.

FFX 2 has:
Seymour USB, Seymour Chain, and Seymour LMR as the main prizes. 3/14. I don't care about most of the other stuff whatsoever, unfortunately-- would still like the duds more than the duds on this banner though.

FFII 1 has:
Minwu USB and Minwu LMR as the main prizes. 2/14. I don't mind the other stuff because it boosts my Earth which is really weak.

FFVI 1 has:
Edgar USB and LMR as the main prizes. 2/14. Other stuff is generally not offensive but not particularly exciting either.

FFIV 1 has:
Dark Cecil AOSB, USB, Glint and LMR2 as the main prizes. 4/14. The other stuff includes powerful stuff for Paladin Cecil, DKC stat boosts, or Edward/Fusoya stuff, so not really too bad at all.

So basically... not sure. This is one of the best banners for impact, but has the highest chance of total disappointment. Meanwhile Seymour is similar, though I feel like I'd want at least two of his good relics to be happy with him. FFX-1 and FFVI have a low chance of total disappointment but the grand prizes are less interesting. FFII has only two relics I really want, but I wouldn't mind most of them as I could get a good Earth boost on characters I don't mind using. FFIV has the most I'd really want and the best consolation prizes

FFII and FFIV seem like the overall best banners to not compromise on drawing from. Not sure whether I should commit more to this and skip FFX entirely or what.

FFIV's problem is that it comes around the next fest where all the Gen 2 chains and Cloud/Aerith USB2 debut, almost everyone's saving up for those. even starting now. To be honest we're kinda getting into the "anti-powercreep" phase where most event banners are meh, FFV1 is probably the last overall great banner with the exception of FFIV1 for a long time.

Also we need to start planning ahead for the Weapons in the next fest, they're above *4 magicite level but they have two weaknesses

Diamond- Holy/Water
Emerald- Fire/Lightning
Sapphire- Ice/Earth
Ruby- Wind/Dark
Ultima-resists all

If you're weak in both of those elements you should plan ahead to pull relics that would improve that. Thankfully I have a chain for each of the weapons, but not so confident with Ice or Lighting otherwise.

I mean if we're weighing practicality...

I should be able to mash Liquid Flame pretty easily sub 30s with Yuffie's USB on top of what I already have, and I can already mash Sealion sub 30s, so drawing more on this has no value, aside from perhaps Yuffie's Glint making her more useful for other Ninja elements like Wind and Earth. And maybe getting Tidus's Chain would make Marlith viable (which is kinda cart before the horse since I need to unlock her to try her)

FFX-1 is kind of a dud here. I don't see either of those relics being super game changing. Nor any of the consolation prizes.
FFX-2 makes my dark more viable, but probably can't do it alone. I'd need some luck with Cecil as well.
FFII-1 is good for Earth and honestly I could see Minwu being a potent Holy damage threat with that USB.
FFIV-1 is good for dark and Paladin Cecil stuff is good general purpose.
FFVI-1 boosts a lot of stuff, but not optimally. Celes and Edgar are both tri-element and not great at any of their elements.

Which again isn't clear-- only makes me have a bit more conviction in skipping FFX-1 being the right move.

So looking at that map the only one I'm double weak on is Ruby so I guess I should go in more on the dark strategy which means abandon this and trust in Seymour.

Celes is 6 element and great at all of them. how in the world could you say a Vivi/Orlandu clone is "not great"?

Edgar also seems really good. basically Bartz USB + the ability boost + chance to imperil.

+30% spellblade boost is only 20% weaker than en-element. with 6* spellblades, that makes her pretty much exactly as strong as Orlandu with 5* sabers, with the advantage that she can benefit from OK USB or other crit buff if she still isn't capping. the main disadvantage is that it can't go towards powering an OSB/AOSB finisher.

I guess that does make some sense. Seems like a good one to have if you're weak in a lot of elements like I am. That gives the FFVI banner some more value-- luckily Celes is on the same banner Edgar is.

Yuffie can also cover kind of a lot of elements passably if I were to get that damn Mystile... hmm.

mystile only really gives her dark/earth coverage. fire/wind are easy to cap without anything. and of course it still helps with water with a skill divided into 7 hits. even with chain she can't cap against Marilith.

Even if you can sub30 a *3 magicite you can still get wrecked by a 4* magicite, they're a league above the *3s (except Midgardsormr, he's somehow less gimmicky than Golem) People are saying these weapons are Tiamat tough, and I can't even beat Tiamat even with a chain and AOSB and I can sub30 Fenrir easy. Not to mention they have more gimmicks like how Ruby is invincible if there are more than 4 alive characters.

Replacing Cloud with fully dived Yuffie let me go from "I can't beat the Golem" to 38s. I think I could feasibly bring this down to 30s with a slight strategy change. Getting more convinced I should draw on this banner more.

Why is Rikku's USB2 a big prize? If it were Rikku's USB1 I would seriously think about drawing, but her USB2 is just a water version of Zidane's USB1.

Also think Rikku's role works better with a supportive ultra like that.
