Yeah, he's not that hard if you use Dr Mog. There are five phases. Basically you build an all physical or all magical team - that gives you one phase where you don't care about his immunity and save Dr. Mog's RW. Use him in the other 4 phases and you should be fine.

Don't bother with the 4th Ozma, the reward is nothing but gil.

I tried that approach a while ago but I just couldn't cast enough SBs. When you have no healing and no mitigation you need to cast a new SB for every single action he takes! I don't understand how you're supposed to survive that.

Ixion's attacks are mostly physical, so you get two safety nets for the most part, the blink and the last stand. Keep a boss guide with his pattern so you learn when he's going to use his magic attack. If you have Onion Knight's pUSB you can use him as an extra entruster for Edge, you can also use Stitch in Time to build meter faster for Edge.

Ixion's attacks are more magical than physical. Thor's Hammer and Savage Thor's Hammer are the big damage dealers.

Anyway, I think I can get through with persistence. I had his bar literally invisible (I thought I had killed him but I hadn't...) but then my damage dealers got killed so I couldn't finish him off.

The Thor's hammers are the only magical attack, I've been watching videos on Ixion no healer runs, seems like most players take the first 2/3 attacks because they're not fatal then use Edge SSB, then go through the pattern of blink, last stand, entrust refresh SSB.

Are you talking about Ozma's immunty's? They last until that phase is dead.

Thor's hammer is the only magical attack, but it makes up more than 50% of his actions.

Anyway, managed to get through it. Not planning to run it again until I have a chance to draw some more earth relics (II banner or earth pickup, which ever comes first... probably II).

Now I can work on my Hades team. Orlandu USB/OSB/SSB plus WoL with chain should be able to take him down, but he's tough.

So I play till I beat Phase one and then activate the crystal at the start of each new phase and literally auto win?

That's unreal.

You only get two uses of Dr. Mog in the final difficulty, third Ozma is more of a practice run to learn the mechanics which is why you get 4 uses.

Fine. But I'm probably not beating 4th.

For the third if I beat phase one I'm home free?

No because the last phase is the hardest and has instant death spells that can screw you up. It's also a DPS race before Ozma heals itself, and all damage is halved at the point (even piercing attacks and damage reflect)

Yes... I just beat him. And oh my god it sucked after he healed.

Cloud USB didn't break damage cap, and Riku's AOSB did 9,500...

Holy hell.

Anyway. I'm not even fucking attempting part 4.

I did everything else during the fest. I'm more than happy.

Liquid Flame and Sealion are the easiest and you can use Bartz against both. LF is probably easier because you also have Tidus' chain. Just make sure to equip instant KO resist to avoid the gravity.

Mastered the Black Fork tower after putting together a last minute team. Didn't have Rikku's USB ready to go at the beginning, so that opening slowga was awful. Managed to beat Omnicient though. Once her USB was cast, things got markedly easier. Larsa died to the his death flare, but that was it. Terra USB+meltdown and Raines' BSB, along with Fujin's BSB, were enough to get the job done. Time to catch up on this FF 12 event.

Sub-30 Hades. Takes a bit of luck so I'm not going to try to kill myself farming crystals, but it's nice to get my third 4* sub-30. Interrupt resistance on the two Cids since they're the DPS. Ramza uses Affliction Break to reduce the risk a little more. Unicorn blocks the first Black Cauldron and I was moving through the phases quickly enough that I don't think I saw a second one. Ramza queues up Battle Cry before Hades goes below 50% to minimize the amount of time you're not hasted.

Also, it turns out Orlandu's SSB is kind of key because it lets you get so many hits in under the chain. SSB -> Assault Saber (doubled) -> Assault Saber (doubled) is 26 hits in like 5.5 seconds.

Congrats. I have honestly no idea how I'm going to handle Hades yet. I'll spend this whole week improving my holy magicite deck, before I even attempt this again. I tried him once on release, and the status hell murdered me.

I actually do like Squall quite a lot, so I did end up picking his BSB2.

Thanks. It's really great to have luck turn around after that godawful fest-- in fact I'd practically say it makes up for a good 100-150 mythril of bad draws from there since if I hadn't overspent due to said bad draws that's what I was initially going to give this Seymour banner in hopes of getting the Chain/Ultra/LMR.

Granted I could've gotten more pieces in theory, but his Chain is definitely the grand prize and I'm skeptical I could employ both his Chain and Ultra particularly well as Seymour's meter gain options aren't amazing-- I at least have his Burst with the Dark imperil as a secondary. LMR is always nice but I can always select it from a gem draw later.

The FF8 Realm dungeons are glitched, I tried going in with my phone but I got stuck in a n error and couldn't play the game. I tried Bluestacks and while I could flee from the dungeon and everything else worked but the game would crash if I tried to go into the FF8 realm dungeons again.

It's been going on for a few hours now.

Dupe Zell USB - it's a dupe, but there are worse things to dupe than 6* Fire+ glove.

No apology mythril though, which is weird since they'll give it out for typos but not for being locked out for several hours.

They should at least give stamina potions since a lot of people lost stamina due to this glitch.

Yeah, that was one of the most disruptive bugs I can remember in the game, it's pretty bad they didn't even give one apology mythril.

What do people think about next week's banners? Garland's stuff seems really good. His USB is a better version of Gabranth's which was just in the XII event (Garland gets a 2 hit dark chase with drain, compared to a pretty redundant +30% atk/def). His BSB2 is a dark clone of Squall's BSB2 which is obviously really good (it's a little worse on Garland though because he doesn't have a doublecast LM).

The biggest downside is that his chain is on a separate banner from his other good stuff.

It would be kinda cool to use Garland to knock some enemies down.

Personally I don't think any banners are really worth pulling for until the next fest, except maybe Type-0. They're too top heavy and BSBs have lost of their appeal (if there was more like Raines/Squall/6-hits BSBs they would still be useful, but most of the time it's just infusion and 4 low multiplier hits, that doesn't cut it against 4* magicite) Gen 2 chains and the new USBs are more valuable in the long run.

Next fest is a long way away. If drawing now makes the difference between a sub-30 or not, that could be 75+ crystals you wouldn't have gotten, which is a lot. If you're dividing your farming between elements it might only be 10 or 20, but that's still nice to have.

I can already sub30 Marilis, Midgarsomer and Isgebind so I already got the 3 most important crystals covered. I can almost sub30 Tiamat (and probably would if I had OK's LM) Ixion I'm waiting for Earth Saber so I can use Dorgann against him. Summon, Holy and Dark crystals aren't important as far as we know.

FF1 is tempting for the dark/holy chains but Seifet and Ramza's gen 2 dark/holy chains are on the same banner and I'm no rush to sub30 Siren and Hades.
