The show is a lighter more comedic Shirobako that focuses on the light novel industry. It actually has very little to do with little sisters. But if you're Miyazaki Hayao then this anime was a mistake because you saw a gif on tumblr.

I already randomly watched one show with that tag (Sankarea) and the ecchi aspects didn't bother me. I didn't feel like they added anything to the show either, though. They were just kind of there.

Trying another show with them will be a good experiment into my opinions if nothing else!

I never saw it myself but I've always heard that the ecchi tag on Sankarea is pretty misleading.

ie. I expect it's not indicative of what other ecchi shows are like.

Sankarea was also one of my first anime, I'd say it's still a solid 7 for me. It's completely average as far as romance anime goes. I know Zea gave me a hard time for liking it lmao.

From what I read, Funimation accidentally put the censored version on its physical release and people got angry. That's all I know about though, there might be more

I only know that tidbit because I tried to look up how gory it was before watching. At one point some guts were supposed to be hanging out but the website version put black filters all over it. That was the only censorship I noticed (and I was thankful for it >_>)

Watched Kara no Kyoukai 4.

I don't think this one is that popular, but I actually rather liked it both the first time through and this time. Then again I will say I like the plot/character aspects of this show a lot more than the action elements, so maybe it's no surprise I like this episode comparatively more than most people.

Anyways episode 5 hype, though that likely won't happen until tomorrow or the weekend.

Well more what I meant is I consider it one of the stronger movies whereas I think others consider it one of the weaker ones.

I almost definitely like it less than most fans on an absolute scale. My favorite movie was 5 and I only gave that one an 8/10 the first time through, and I imagine there are plenty of people that give all of the movies an 8 or higher. (This time I have given movie 1 an 8/10 and then the next 3 a 7/10, for the record)

The Ironic thing about Sister all you need is besides the first 5 minutes of ep 1, all the fanservice is of legal young-adult women that aren't obnoxiously stacked. And around halfway the fanservice almost dies down. And it's fairly funny while also kinda sorts showing what the life of a LN author is like.

And yeah Ashley ep was pretty funny

That's the sad thing about it. The first two minutes of the first episode were incredible and if the whole show had been like that it could've been the greatest anime of all time.

As promised, I watched the first episode of that Sister show and (while the first few minutes were a bit... much >_>) it was good! I'll definitely continue with it but there are four other shows I'm halfway through that I really need to finish first. Still, thanks for talking about it and indirectly getting me to watch it, Granzon. It's all the way near the bottom of Crunchyroll's simulcast listing so I'd have probably never noticed it on my own.

You're welcome, you don't have to finish watching it if it's not interesting though! I've watched so many of these bad light novel adaptions over the years I'm genuinely surprised when one of them breaks the mold even just a little bit.

No, I'm definitely interested. Anime-Gataris is teaching me about anime, maybe this Sister show will teach me more about light novels!

I'm still at the point where I'll only drop a show if it's truly terrible, too. The only problem is that I've started too many things at once (though I finished Working!! today so I'm slowly getting through it all)

I made the proto shounen topics in 2008-ish before I started watching "anime". All I read was Weekly Shounen Jump stuff and I had no interest in the broader anime universe. Then I left for a few years and when I can back the shounen topics popped up.

The original topics was just me reading Naruto/Bleach/One Piece spoilers on Tuesday before they were released to the public on Wednesday.

It was more because SHINE mainly watches shonen anime, so he felt out of place in midst of all of our weekly discussions for other stuff, so he decided to make his own shonen anime topic where it can all be contained.

Nowadays we just have weekly DB Super topics on Board 8 instead.

I finished Recovery of an MMO Junkie

I enjoyed it! I almost felt like there were one too many coincidences (meeting both in-game and in real life is the premise and I can accept that, but them both knowing the same coworker was a bit much even before it was revealed that they'd randomly met in an even earlier MMO) but then I considered it in thematic terms and became more accepting. Ultimately this was about relationships, both online and offline, and I liked how all of those coincidental layers supported that goal.

Oh man. Just watched episode 1 of Girls' Last Tour. Is anyone else watching this show? Can't remember anyone here talking about it, but maybe I just wasn't paying attention. In any case that was really good. I had reasonably good expectations for this show already but that pretty much blew those out of the water.

I guess an obvious comparison would be to say this show is something like Sound in the Sky, but at the same time I feel like this is different in a way I can't quite put my finger on. Maybe I'll get a better idea as I get further in.
