Oh man. Just watched episode 1 of Girls' Last Tour. Is anyone else watching this show? Can't remember anyone here talking about it, but maybe I just wasn't paying attention. In any case that was really good. I had reasonably good expectations for this show already but that pretty much blew those out of the water.

I guess an obvious comparison would be to say this show is something like Sound in the Sky, but at the same time I feel like this is different in a way I can't quite put my finger on. Maybe I'll get a better idea as I get further in.

I'm watching it, it's enjoyable even if it doesn't seem to actually have a goal in mind. A good relaxation anime, don't watch if you're tired.

Most Disappointing Show of the Year

I added a few categories and removed one, kinda curious if anyone votes in these. Fight seems extremely broad, and disappointing seems unnecessarily negative, but if people like them in there, I will keep it.

I have several nominations in mind for both of these.

I'm watching Girls' Last Tour. I think I'd love the show if I didn't dislike Yuuri. As it is, it's still a very good show. It only gets better from the first ep. Some really incredible moments.

This is definitely a fair complaint, but it hasn't actually interfered with my enjoyment much as of now (finished episode 2 at this point).

Plenty of awards have negative categories. Hell, Giant Bomb has at least 3 a year. Worst Anime is just asking to troll, so Most Dissapointing seems more sensible.

It's like a joke at this point. You keep expecting them to twist their rinse and repeat formulas because...any competent show would, but no, it just keeps doing it. Every minute of this show is a waste of my time, but now I'm too far in.

Oh jeez December 31st deadline for those awards. Time to prioritize 2017 anime I guess. Does anyone have 2017 favorites (that are available on Crunchyroll) that they'd want me to try? So far I'll have only watched these from 2017:

don't worry most people voting in it is probably in our boat and haven't watched a whole bunch this year so their votes will be skewered

Erased as #2 show of 2016 sounds about right to me. Either that or #1.

I think ERASED was my #1 and Re:Zero was #2.

only reason it didn't win was because it aired in January and all the Summers flocked to ReZero which aired during the summer

I've actually already played the Steins;Gate VN and I enjoyed it a lot. Re;Zero is on my to-watch list too but I may as well watch a few 2017 shows while I can just to participate more in voting

Erased might have been number 1 if the manga didn't do the ending better (and I wasn't a hater of the anime ending by any means)

Do you really think people would vote ReZero over Erased even if they liked Erased more, just because it was newer?

A LOT of people, here and elsewhere, HATED the ending of Erased. I don't count myself among them, but backlash was very vocal.

Which would be surprising given konosuba did a lot better in most other categories.
