Regarding music, I spent way too long being too lazy to branch out beyond the radio to discover new stuff. I kind of just accepted that most of it must be decent since it's the most obvious place to go to hear something new, but eventually I realized it sucks and after a while it's all the same except for the stations that heavily skew towards new stuff (which is also usually bad) in their rotation. I'm sure I could list dozens of bands that I now feel stupid for once liking

It's not ALL bad but the chances of me finding a beer I actually like is slim.

The only alcoholic beverage I care for is wine and even then it has to be really cold to not taste like gasoline. I don't drink, predominantly.

Schwarzenegger was bi-partisan and I could trust him to work at getting demos and republicans to work towards a common goal.

Phantasy Star Online was the greatest game and nothing would ever be better then it. (It still was great!).

Still think socialism could work in moderation (not complete socialism mind you).

And you can't blame the teachers (not all of them), there are some that take advantage of the system and do the bare minimum, but many work way more hours then required and really try and make a good learning environment. Sadly the current system makes it VERY hard for them to do so.

I knew one teacher who spent over 12 hours a day, trying to make the best learning environment she could, and had been doing that for decades. She still had past students who where graduating from HS come and visit her all those years later. She really cared and was a great teacher.

It's hard to maintain that when your shoved into a classroom with 40+ kids, including at least 2-3 special needs students, with no teachers aid, no parents volunteering, no budget for suplies, and a fixed curriculum you are expected to teach leaving almost no time for your own lesson plans etc.

I taught for 3 years in the public school system, going in thinking I could make a difference and help students who did not have a teacher that cared. After 3 years I threw my hands up and decided I should just teach at a private school, where I could actually make a difference and would at least have another adult to help with classroom management.

With more years teaching, I may have become more like the teacher I mentioned above, but honestly it's such a high stress job, and you have to spend so many hours to really improve anything, I just don't have the energy for that anymore, maybe in my 30's or early 40's i could have, but yeah, it's a job for the young (and good luck even to them).

So yeah, it's not just the teachers fault at all.

I was young and naive, I had just seen Roger and Me. I had gone into Bowling for Columbine with innocent wide-eyes but the more I watched the more I thought, "Huh. Something doesn't seem right about that." After all, I used to live in Canada and knew that people didn't really just leave their doors unlocked. Then there was something weird about the guns in the bank scene, especially how the responses were edited. Later when much of the film's fraud was exposed, I wasn't terribly surprised.

I like Michael Moore because he injects a lot of humor into his movies and TV shows. I dont follow his every word, believe everything he says, etc, because he is just a liberal talking head, sometimes the truth doesnt fit, kinda like most talking heads.

But I still love the dudes sense of humor.

There are a couple types of beers that I "like", but really it's more that I "like them more than other beers".

I don't know anyone who tasted a beer of ANY kind for the first time and was like "hey, that shit's tasty!"

Part of why people like them as they age could be with changing taste buds, over time you start liking different things its why a kid could eat 2-3 pounds of candy and not have enough when people over 50 have trouble eating one full sized candy bar.

I can think of multiple foods/drinks I liked as a kid that I would likely not enjoy now.
