Really it's such a bizarre target too, Joe's a pretty staple conservative and for the first months of this presidency he was hand waving Trump's mistakes and trying to frame it all on Bannon, talking about the Trump he "knows personally" being different, and soooo much Conservative Persecution Complex.
Sure he's been more blunt about Trump recently, but it wouldn't take much to have him commend Trump if he acted like a normal president.
