I feel like it's been a while since we had one of these topics. I'll start, I guess. Jeff Zero is a play on F-Zero as well as an irritated rebuttal against the fact that my last name (O'Connor) kept getting accused of containing "an illegal character". So the "Zero" part is kind of the letter "O", too.

Too bad I went and changed my name to Quinton, eh? Now the Jeff Zero and Jeff O'Connor user names I've got hanging around various e-haunts feels old-hat. Not as old hat as my PSN handle, though -- that one's got my ex-fiance in it. Ouch!

What about you, Johnbobb? HaRRich? SovietOmega? And why the fascinations with icons and Anagrams and the word transience? What exactly is a Wicklebee?

AND I'M EVEN REFERENCED IN THE OPENING, AH YEAH.

But yeah, long story short, my late grandfather would call me "Nicholas Wicklebee" for some odd reason (maybe not how it's spelt, but it's how I did). One day I blurted out that fact that he called me it in Junior High, and then Wicklebee/Nicklebee steadily became my nicknames from that point on. Including a few other variations. I especially took a lot of pride in it being the main reason I will always remember him.

I created this name 10 years in advance of meeting someone with a birthday in a specific month. I severely limited my playing field. ;)

No, I just switched my username not long ago. Used to be Naomi_Diamond, which also incorporated my birthstone. The name "Naomi" was a practical joke that ended up sticking.

Murphy = high school nickname because I look like Murphy (Peter Weller) from Robocop. Outside of the internet it's a super area and time specific nickname though, with only people from my high school in Arizona using it.

It was my friend's World of Warcraft account name. I was too lazy to come up with my own and thought it sounded cool.

Exeter is the name of a character I used in an e-fed when I was growing up. I got THAT name, oddly enough, from the book Resident Evil: Caliban Cove by SD Perry. Exeter, Maine is where all the stuff goes down in the book and I just thought it sounded cool.

I was big into Resident Evil when I made the character, so his nickname was "Nemesis."

I was the guild leader of a rather large Kings of Chaos Guild called Chaos Legion, and on our forum I was "ChaoticTony".

Eventually I shortened it to Chaos and I don't remember why.

I made a character whose name started with and M but the account got Read-Only'd, so I called my friend on the phone and had him make the account on his computer. It was during Summer Contest 2005 and the match of the day was Lloyd Irving vs Zero, and I always liked Zero so I just had my friend add that onto the end. But apparently I stressed that I wanted the M capital too much and he... missed the rest? and he said it was taken so I told him to put 17 on it (my favorite number because I liked Android 17 a lot)

Thus, MZero17 was born, then banned and now I'm MZero11 because that's another number I like

I got my name from a stupid game we played in multiplayer games where you could alter the menus in a multiplayer capacity. Such as Halo (Delaying the game forever, fighting to play the game, it took two people to overpower one delayer) Project Gotham, moving the menu at the last second during stage select to fuck with the guy picking.

It was originally my AIM screenname, created in (roughly) 2000. I didn't have any cool sounding ideas, so I combined a food and an animal that I liked.

My original 2002 GameFAQs account used the same name because I still couldn't think of anything better, so I decided to just use the one name that I already had already come up with. I figured that this would be a placeholder and I'd eventually come up with a different screenname and start using it on new sites going forward. Of course that never happened and I used hotdogturtle on more sites and for long enough that it become my internet identity.

This account has 3 hyphens because after I got banned, -hotdogturtle- was an exiting alt that got banned with it, and both versions with 1 hyphen on either side got Read-Only'd when I tried making them immediately after getting banned. This was the least-bad looking permutation that I could think of, because I figured that most people wouldn't read the very end of the name anyway (and it's true, countless people have missed the second hyphen at the end).

NFUN stands for "New Fucking User Name" because on one site every handle I wanted, no matter how outlandish, was taken, so I made it that out of frustration.

I have my mom's last name, but as a kid I always secretly wished I had my dad's last name, which is "ponte", with david being my first name.

Funnily enough, not too long after I made this account, I started getting called by my actual last name and variations of it at school, and that nickname has stuck with me in the almost 10 years since, to the point where it has really grown on me, and a good portion of people in high school who only knew me by name assumed it was my first name. I don't think anyone called me david by the time I reached high school.

The result is that my gamefaqs name is horribly outdated with my username on every other online platform representing my nickname, which is my actual last name.

Kind of odd how it all turned out.
