175. Reno 911!

Seen: Like a bunch of it

This wasn't a show I ever went out of my way to watch. I mostly just casually saw it when there wasn't anything better on Comedy Central. It's got a sense of humor very similar to Broken Lizard, which essentially ranges from dumb slapstick to hilarious slapstick, depending on the day. The big plus from this show is that it introduced me, as well as many others, to Thomas Lennon, who is just a damn funny guy. Part of me feels like maybe I'd like it more if I went back to check it out again, while another thinks that it's ultimately humor that I would've appreciated more as a teen than now. Still, I recall it being a pretty funny show overall.

174. Arrow

Seen: Season 1, some of season 2

I KNOW. I'M SORRY. I just... I REALLY fucking tried with this show. It was one of the biggest, most popular live-action superhero shows. Probably the biggest since Smallville. And I wanted so badly to like it. To an extent, I did. The performances were all satisfactory. Stephen Amell made a great Green Arrow. It had some decent action scenes. But goddamn, it was boring. I waited and waited and waited for the show to get into its groove and REALLY get interesting, like everyone (especially people on B8, *coughcoughsnake55555555cough*) said it was. I waited through the full first season, into the second, and even after it introduced Deathstroke (one of my favorite DC characters by far) I just couldn't bring myself to keep watching.

173. V

Seen: Season 1

The 2009 series, not the 1983 one. Apparently it had two seasons? This show was kind of all over the place. Most of the main cast I didn't feel very strongly for one way or the other, except Morena Baccarin, who was extraordinary here as the diabolical alien queen. This show stands out in my memory as one of three sci-fi shows, all of which came out around the same time, all of which were short lived (expect the other two later on the list). They were all weird quality; kind of showing a transition in how sci-fi/fantasy shows existed on tv. It wasn't bad, but wasn't great. Kind of interesting, kind of forgettable.

171. Skin Wars

Seen: Season 1

So I'm admittedly not a big fan of reality shows, I've made that much clear. But this is definitely not your typical Survivor or Big Brother. I started watching this show because my girlfriend was a fan of it, and it's... interesting. The show revolves around make-up artists painting nude models for various purposes, from blending into to backgrounds to acting as live art pieces. And admittedly, some of them were damn impressive. I watched through the first season, and despite it not really being my kind of show, I actually got pretty invested (Dutch was objectively the best artist but he was a douchey robot; Shannon was the most creative and Natalie ultimately had close to Dutch's skill with more creativity than he had. Mythica was the fucking worst). Seriously, check out some of the art from that show. OH, AND IT'S HOSTED BY MYSTIQUE (no, not J-Law, the good Mystique).

170. Under the Dome

Seen: First two seasons

Goddamn did I want to love this show. My sister similarly wanted to like it. SO BAD. And it did have some things going for it. Dean Norris was great (not like Breaking Bad great but still a considerable step above everyone else on the show). And I still enjoyed it... mostly... but after a while of rewatching the same plotlines circle the drain and characters acting like absolute overdramatic idiots, it became a little too tiring. We both stopped watching at the same time. It was too hard to follow, and didn't seem to have any kind of coherency overall. Still, I don't view the show negatively, for what it was. I liked it enough to watch it every week. But barely. Also:

169. Blue’s Clues

Seen: A bunch

Ok, so while this isn't a show I have any reason to go out of my way to watch, I can definitely appreicate it for what it is: one of the best shows for very young children out there. It's kind of hard not to love the early days of the show. It was essentially a one-man show, but Steve was such an extraordinary personality that he could easily carry every episode with just a couple cartoon characters. The show is formulaic of course, and admittedly went downhill after Steve "went to college" but it's impossible to not look back fondly on it.

168. Viva la Bam

Seen: A bunch

I know I spoke pretty negatively of Jackass and its immature sense of humor, but I couldn't help but really enjoy Viva la Bam. As a teenager, I did get a kick out of Bam Margera. It was a go-to "watch after school" type of show, and I'll admit, it could be pretty damn funny. Whereas Jackass was all over the place, Viva la Bam actually had some structure to it, with specific objectives and themes in the episodes. It worked a lot better for that type of humor, and reminded me more of Tony Hawk's Underground than Jackass. Still though, the immaturity of it kept it from being anything great.

167. The Suite Life of Zack & Cody

Seen: Most of it, prior to the weird cruise ship spinoff

Really digging deep into the area of shows I liked, but didn't have strong feelings about at all. And that defines Zack and Cody. It's a good show. Better than quite a few of the other Disney shows from around the same time. The real highlight here was Mr. Moseby, who could (and often did) carry the show on his own. The twins themselves were ok, no unbearable, but the supporting cast was solid througout.

Man I completely forgot this show existed prior to making this ranking. It exists in a weird section of my memory. Like I distinctly remember the main characters, and specific moments, but like nothing else. I just remember liking it quite a bit while it was airing, even if it ended up being forgettable in the end. Great theme song, lovable protagonists, and one particular episode that STILL cracks me up (the episode is "Time Off" but I can't find clips ANYWHERE).

165. FlashForward

Seen: The 1 season

This was around the same time as V, was basically on par with V as far as acting and effects went, and managed to last even LESS than V, despite the fact that I enjoyed it more. However, it was BASICALLY Cliffhanger: The Show. Every episode was a ridiculous cliffhanger, with the biggest one occuring on the season 1 finale, which of course left it with the least satisfying ending of almost any show I've ever seen.

164. 30 Rock

Seen: An assortment

I've never disliked anything I've seen from 30 Rock. I think the writing is pretty solid and some of the performances (Jack McBrayer and Alec Baldwin in particular) are great. However, the show has also failed to capture my attention like other shows in the same genre. I'm not the biggest fan of Tina Fey's humor, and while I like the show while it's on, it's a show I strictly ONLY watch when it happens to be on, never going out of my way to keep up with it. So even though I've seen a bunch of episodes, I don't particularly recall any significant plots or side characters.

162. Rocket Power

Seen: Probably all of it

Man, these were the coolest motherfuckers when I was a kid. They're the kids everyone wanted to be, who were good at everything they did (except Sammy, who was garbage at everything). The characters were flawed, but unlike a lot of the later TeenNick shows, their flaws actually led to them learning lessons and changing their behavior, as opposed to everything just working out for them (still looking at you, Raven). While the kids were the focus, Raymundo and Tito stole the show. Overall just a really, really solid cartoon. Not much to complain about. (Also, did anyone else ever have that weird Rocket Power cereal that turned the milk blue?) Also, ANOTHER killer theme song.

161. Heroes Reborn

Seen: The whole thing

It's hard to go too much into this without spoiling my feelings about the original series, but generally, I liked Heroes, and went into Heroes Reborn with fairly strong hopes (albeit mixed expectations). All in all, the show was very okay. I'll give it credit, as some of what it did worked really well. Miko and Ren's subplot was consistently enjoyable to watch, the actors brought back were all solid (though I'm not a fan of Matt's bizarre personality shift). Still, the show couldn't hold up to the original. It made it painfully obvious when they couldn't bring back an actor (killing Claire offscreen during childbirth was downright terrible). The new powers shown off were cool but the show was overall too inconsistent.

160. The Big Bang Theory

Seen: Several

I can't think of this show without thinking of the Tidus laugh. I feel like everyone I see talk about this show either thinks its the harbringer of the golden age of television or a pathetic attempt to appeal to the faux-nerdy demographic. While I'll admit the latter is kind of true, I still did enjoy MOST of what I watched of the show. Some of the jokes fell flat (particularly when it would try to reinforce the whole male geek v. dumb blonde female stereotypes) but the characters are mostly likable and the writing's not terrible. It's just not enough for me to watch regularly.

Seen: Most of earlier season, bits and pieces of later seasons

I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking this show used to be good. I assume I'm also not alone in thinking the current show is... pretty fucking weak. Maybe I grew out of Seth MacFarlane's humor. While that's probably true to a point, I also think this is a show that just REALLY overstayed its welcome. By a LOT. Still, I can't reasonably put it lower than this, because there was a time when I really liked it. I still enjoy the earlier seasons. I still love Mayor Adam West consistently (episodes that prominently featured him were considerably better than the rest) and I still refer to the Honey Smacks mascot as "Dig Them."

The first three seasons of Family Guy are still legitimately fantastic. You didn't outgrow Family Guy, Seth McFarlane stopped taking an active role in the show's production and writing, the writing staff became different, and as such the writing and jokes have become significantly weaker/non-existent. For some reason, everyone understands this with The Simpsons. People don't say 'I outgrew The Simpsons' like they do with Family Guy. They say 'The Simpsons peaked with seasons 4-8 or whatever. Well, Family Guy peaked with Seasons 1-3.

Mulaney didn't qualify for the list because I couldn't make it past 2 episodes. If I was including shows I only saw a bit of, Mulaney would probably be a strong contender for bottom 5 or so.
