So I compiled a list of every show I've seen (at least, attempted to, let's hope I didn't miss any).

To qualify for the ranking, one of the following must apply:
1. I've watched at least one full season from start to finish of the show.
2. I've watched the show casually/out of order but have seen a significant enough amount of it to feel I can fairly judge it.

So shows that I only ever saw occasionally, shows that I started but never continued, shows that I saw so long ago I can't significantly remember them, and shows I disliked to much to get through do not qualify for the list.

BUT

Before I start the ranking, I want to know your thoughts on the following:

Do you want the full list of shows that will be included prior to the ranking?

As in, the 211 shows listed in alphabetical order, so people could track what's left to be ranked, or start from nothing, so it's all a surprise?

I went through wikipedia's list of tv show debuts for each year, consecutively, and marked down every show I recall seeing a significant amount of.

Shows I saw young enough that I don't remember them wouldn't qualify for the list

Internet shows no, unless it's specifically done like a tv show (ala Horace and Pete)

News shows and Sports shows might've counted but tbh I haven't seen a significant amount of either so I never really bothered to consider them.

211. Hannah Montana
Sometimes you surprise yourself with what you clearly remember and what you don't. I remember watching DragonBall Z with my dad as a kid, which I loved, but I can barely remember anything about the show beyond the names of some of the characters. Meanwhile, Hannah Montana, a show which I thoroughly disliked, is bright and fresh in my memory because of how many times I was in the room while my little sister had control of the tv. I remember it distinctly, from the bone dance to Jackson missing a no-hitter because Miley was awful to Miley losing her voice and thinking her career was over. I remember the entire show despite never once watching it by my choice. Miley/Hannah was one of the whiniest, most unlikeable protagonists I've seen on TV, and that's like the whole show. A spoiled pop star who goes around complaining about her life until she ultimately ALWAYS gets her way.

210. The Angry Beavers

Some of you might remember this show fondly. You might remember how hilarious the silly beavers' antics were. You're wrong. Sometimes nostalgia will betray you, like it did to me when they put this up on Netflix and I decided to give it a watch because I remembered loving it as a kid. But Christ is this an awful show. None of the jokes land, the voices are grating, the animation is cruddy. Every good thing I remembered about the show was 100% incorrect.

209. Big Brother
Sorry to drop this so low, because I know a large portion of B8 is fond of this show for some reason, but this just isn't my type of thing. I watched this for a few seasons as a kid with my mom. She's always been into these types of shows, and while I wasn't necessarily, it was one of the only shows we could watch together because she hated cartoons and I didn't like "grown up" shows. Reality shows in general rarely work for me, and the 1-by-1 elimination melodrama "reality" shows are bottom of the barrel for me.




208. Survivor
Literally just re-read the Big Brother write-up, the points are the same. Everything I disliked about Big Brother I disliked about Survivor, though at least Survivor had the occasional interesting physical challenge.

Hannah Montana - Almost all of it
Angry Beavers - A handful from every season
Big Brother - At least seasons 2 and 7, because I distinctly remember Chill Town. Beyond that I saw like 1 or 2 more seasons but I can't recall which ones.
Survivor - The first around 3-5 seasons

207. American Idol

Seen:First 7 seasons complete, some of following seasons

And the third consecutive reality show falls. And for the third time in a row, it was a show I watched with my mom, and probably wouldn't have watched otherwise (though I was admittedly a Taylor Hicks fan for a little while. Remember him? Yeah, didn't think so). It wasn't necessarily a bad show, just formulaic, and by the later seasons that formula became worse and worse to the point that neither me nor my mom could convince ourselves to watch anymore.

206. That's So Raven

Seen: Most of the show, not necessarily in chronological order

Most of the issues I had with Hannah Montana apply to That's So Raven as well. It was another show I mostly watched because my sister watched it, and it centers around a girl who, though she's not a pop star, is still spoiled and spends most of every episode complaining and screwing everything up until everything works out for her, just because. She's self-centered, arrogant and annoying, and drags the rest of the show down, which is otherwise a decent sitcom with a funny supporting cast.

205. Fear the Walking Dead

Seen: First season

Fear the Walking Dead kind of defines the "bad spin-off" category of show for me. I had a friend in college, and we were both fans of The Walking Dead (yeah, it's on the list, spoiler, but why would anyone watch FTWD without having been either a Walking Dead fan or a masochist?). When we left, one of the ways we kept in touch was via talking about the show. So when FTWD started, we figured we'd do the same thing. That was a mistake. The characters were completely unlikeable, the drama felt even MORE forced than The Walking Dead, and even though the first season was only 6 episodes I could barely force myself through them.

Seen: More of it than I would like to admit

I'M THE MAP I'M THE MAP I'M THE MAP I'M THE MAP I'M THE MAAAAAAAAP. Man how the fuck are you gonna just tell that fox "Hey, don't steal our shit," and he's just gonna be like "oh, damn it, guess that foils my plans." Can you imagine if that worked in real life? "Hey burglar, stop burglaring." "Whoops, you caught me, off to jail!" Shit's crazy. Also why do I remember as much of this show as I do.

American Idol was the only reality show I've ever gotten into, but I got pretty sick of it after whatever season Taylor Hicks was in (yes, I do remember him!).

I think I'm one of the few who actually liked the first season of FTWD.
