Also, where are you getting that bonus to damage from? Without a Firewind Blade, nor a Shard, nor anything else, I can only beef up your damage to 4+4+4+4+6+3+3 = 28 with most spells, but Elemental Bolt's extra damage is nowhere to be found. And that's for Elemental Bolt, in fact, so it's actually less for other spells.

Yeah, I checked the math and it works out - it's just that the Builder has a seriously ass-backwards way of handling things.

But yeah, everything looks to be in order - the two things I'd tweak would be getting a Fire Shard, and getting Explosive Pyre or Flame Spiral instead of Learned Boost. Everything else looks pretty decent.

That's fine, primary int secondary con is a really cool setup, their own skills are already really, really good (granting boatloads of THP in mass all day erry day yes plox) and MAGIK WEPON is an at-will that is easily as good as some encounter powers.

And the fluff is good too. Warforged Artificer? No John, you ARE the artifacts!

So hey. I need a DM ruling on something.

Because according to RAW this works, unless there was a specific errata for it.

Kanz or whoever else, don't turn this into a debate as to whether this works RAW because I just spent an hour thumbing through a 19 page discussion about this and the general consensus from people actually citing RAW is that it indeed works. The only arguments against it are people "citing" RAI, fluff text used as rules, or real life examples. (Which don't fly.)

So basically this comes down to DM ruling. Don't turn this into charop discussion unless you know of errata that contradicts this:

I have an armbow, which has the property: "This crossbow does not expend bolts". RAW it still needs to be loaded, but only once. Ever. So... I load it with magical ammunition. Magical ammunition rides on the rules that once expended it cannot be re-used, but in this case, the magical ammunition is never expended.

So we need a DM ruling here, is this cool with you Ana? I think it probably SHOULD NOT work read as intended because of how cheap it is (I can spend 85,000 gold to basically make a +6 weapon RAW!!!!). What I'm proposing is a house ruling on magical ammunition. Magical ammunition that has a greater enhancement bonus than the bow being used to fire it cannot use the greater enhancement bonus. This is to prevent the aforementioned purchasing of a +6 bolt and having infinite usage of it for not even 10% of a +6 enhancement bonus' cost. This also allows for some really cool trickery with armbows. Basically, if I have an armbow, I load it with magical ammunition just to use the property and effects but not the enhancement bonus.

TLDR: I want to be Megaman, is that cool?

I CANNOT STRESS PLEASE DON'T TURN THIS INTO CHAROP DISCUSSION, I HAVE SPENT HOURS STRESSING OVER THIS AND DO NOT WANT TO HEAR ANYTHING ELSE ABOUT THIS UNLESS THERE IS INDEED SPECIFIC ERRATA!

The answer to that really, really depends on what it's for. Because you could use it for permanent autohits and that'd be just moronic. Or you could use it to apply Cold to your attacks and that'd be OK.

Well it's limited to "bolts" so that'd be...

Spider Bolt: Enemies hit and each creature adjacent to it is slowed until EoNT.
Space-Shifting Bolt: Enemies hit are teleported 1 square.
Forbiddance Bolt: Enemies hit and all creatures within 2 squares of it cannot teleport until the end of it's next turn
Dispelling Bolt: Enemies hit have one conjuration or zone they've created dispelled.

There's also (but I'm not sure what "ammunition" means. I guess it can apply to any type of ammo?)

Shadowshaft "ammunition": Attacks create a burst 1 centered on the target that creates a heavily obscured zone until the end of the encounter.
Shiver-Strike "ammunition": Each other creature in burst 1 around a hit target takes some low auto-damage.

I'm also unsure if this lets you use alchemical ammo repeatedly. A USE for alchemy?! My god.

Edit: forgot a couple.

Bolt of Clumsiness: Enemies hit cannot shift until the end of it's next turn.
Bolt of Transference: If you hit with this ammo teleport adjacent to the target.
