Hey guys. I decided that catgirls will use the razorclaw shifter stats, and that regular razorclaw shifters do not exist in my world. I don't know about longtooth shifters, I haven't given it a tremendous amount of thought.

Thinking about it though, Razorclaw Shifter must be the most useless race ever considering that it shares stats with three of the strongest races you could think of, and it's inferior to Longtooth Shifters powerwise.

Catgirls should be dex/int or wis. Not so much booksmart though, but more primal intelligence. I think dndwiki might have some catgirl templates though, I am sure of it. They have half-shoe afterall.

So a realization happened as I was watching Vietnamese pokemon crystal. Here we are, a party of six who occasionally swap out members, learn new moves and replace old ones, and gain levels so that we can challenge the champion.

Probably could dual type some too...no surfing for us.

Holy crap guys Hexblades are simultaneously the best and the worst ever. I can barely even explain how this build I came up with works but I'm reasonably confident it does.

The trick is using the Gloom Pact Weapon, which naturally has reach, combined with a staff implement, and then replace the pact weapon with a transcendent ki focus. Staff Expertise adds +1 reach on melee attacks using the staff, which the Hexblade at-will technically does. Transcendent ki focus adds +1 reach on melee attacks using the ki focus. That turns it into reach 3, which is quite impressive. Furthermore since you're making an implement attack using the staff you can also feel free to benefit from the property of an Accurate Staff to make up for the Gloom Pact's lower proficiency.

The Gloom Pact Weapon is a flail, so there's also a lot of nice, saner hax you can apply to that.

That works, yeah. It's also kinda worthless because you're failing to do any job and you don't have threatening reach to at least trigger OAs to compensate for the low damage.

EDIT: Silly me, I forgot CHA. Noticeably higher at +41 then. Arcane Admixture + Frostcheese would increase it up to +47.

Right, but that's extra resources then. And...you got no nova. So you do...let's see...+47 damage on the best case scenario. It takes you three turns to kill a Standard monster. That's insanely slow. I mean, put it this way - I do more damage than that for less effort on a charging Howling Strike...and I actually have encounter powers to use, at that.

It's more accurate than Brona because you don't have Deadly Draw yet. It's actually really even on accuracy otherwise. Additionally, if we're including Master Riposte, you gotta include Lightning Field countershots, which push Brona ahead.

What I meant is that Feat+Lightning Field Countershot is gonna equal Master Riposte+At-Will Damage if you play your cards right. If nothing else, because that feat could be Master Riposte itself.

Only because he's used a bunch of feats to augment a secondary role. If you didn't want to increase your general utility you could definitely dump the Warlord feats, is what I'm saying.

EDIT: So my point is, when a character can invest considerably less resources than another character for similar at-will DPR, but considerably more offrole utility, AND a true, and terrifying nova burst, it's kind of a big deal. Means the second character is not doing sufficiently well. He has to do MUCH better than the first at at-will DPR if that's his singleminded focus.

But Visage of Zhudun is better than any of Brona's powers for damage contribution so if you're talking about novas it's a bit iffy. Minions of Malbolge is the other daily and it's also quite strong. Also, Brona spends a whole one feat on the Warlord side, Combat Commander.

Well, okay, Hybrid Talent. I guess that's sort of spent on utility. Or rather, being a Warlord forces me to use Hybrid Talent to get Storm Soul back. That's two feats. Yeah, if Brona wasn't a Warlord he'd have two more feats and could take Master Riposte too, I suppose.

I think your criticism of the build doesn't really make sense though, mostly because, yes, it's not the best striker ever, but that's not really related to the build chosen; the build sacrifices a few feats that would have a hard time contributing to damage regardless. The only way to make the class itself a sufficiently menacing striker seems to be to make it a charger, and I am not a terrible person, so that's out.

Yep, that's kind of the issue with Hexblades, unfortunately. Their damage bonus really should be +4/+8/+12 points higher than it is or so to be truly up to par for all it's missing.
