Let me run Lloyd and Brona for a fight and I will show you magic. Absolute magic.

EDIT: Which reminds me, have you considered Infernal Slave for your theme Scep? It adds a Slide 5 to attacks as a minor action. That's a whole lotta Lightning Field usage, really.

Eh, I'll look at it. Honestly I just took Son of Alagondar for the skills. I've never even remembered that I give you guys a +1 bonus when I'm flanking with you.

(Incidentally, for fun I created a character that more than doubles Val's Insight... 8 levels earlier. Traveler's Insight is the best thing.)

Yeah, Infernal Slave functions as one hell of a meaty damage boost for you. Using it off a shock spiral, that's mods again, then something like 50 damage minimum off the Lightning Field, so about 80-100 damage depending on the dice.

It averages at an extra 80 (90 with the +10 fire/necrotic) per encounter, which is quite nice, assuming they're 2 squares away or closer. And the +1 power bonus to NADs when unbloodied is good too, even if I get penalized when bloodied instead. Though CharOp doesn't like it... I don't get bloodied that frequently, though.

Also, I've been kind of disappointed with Flurry of Talons' performance... Yeah, it's a multiattack, but my accuracy is rarely good enough to exploit it, and I lose DIS and Sorcerous Power, which is quite a chunk of my bonuses. Maybe I should just chuck it, there are plenty of other strong encounters.

CharOp doesn't like it because BoVD material isn't LFR legal. Everybody I've talked to acknowledges it's really strong with Lightning Fury.

EDIT: I'd get Chains of Fire or Lightning Cuts. Both add quite a bit of punch, in different ways. Alternatively, Thunderstroke is pretty nifty too.

So if we ever do wind up playing another campaign after this on I think I wanna try my hand at party skillmonkey. Found a paragon path I never found out about that is really cool for it.

Alternatively I might just make a Touhou wizard that shoots magic missiles everywhere and turns combat into a bullet hell!

I'd probably either play my spiked chain, OA-abuse Cleric, or the complete lockdown Battlemind | Warlock as my build. Both are pretty neat, though they have some feat issues.

I'd like to see her in action, but knowing Val, one of three things would happen.
1. Kidnapping, brainwashing, justice friends
2. "Eh, she's still less evil than Amy, welcome aboard"
3. Being cool with her as long as she directs her murder spree on enemies

GUYS GUYS GUYS GUYS GUYS

Okay so

stay with me here

Remember Fey Corgis?

You do right?

Well

Okay stay with me here

What if I make a Hengeyokai

Who was some elf's dog for 200 years

And then became a person because magic

and he was a Corgi as a dog

So I am a Corgi that can turn into a person

I AM THE FEY CORGI!

Edit: I'm halfway serious with this. My name will be Scooter because that is what my owner named me, and it is the name I will INSIST upon being called as a person. This is my character for our next campaign assuming there is one.

Would you believe me that the first thing I thought of when I saw Chaotic Evil was 'Stab Watchman Mode: ENGAGED!'?

EDIT: Oh yeah! I forgot to ask, Tiro, have you considered picking up Forced Opportunity on Quentyn? You mentioned it a while back and it's a ridiculous power for this party.

It's never bad to prepare for fights like the one with the Elder Brain, where half of our toolkit got nerfed from under us. Either that power or Shield Crack are both great for when we have to improvise against a very strong enemy.

It does hurt them pretty bad minus their basic damage numbers. About the only person that goes into melee it doesn't bone is me, since I normally WANT things to sit still anyway. But my damage in comparison is pitiful unless the target's already bloodied.

That said I've come to like my niche of "tanky CC", I'm like Alistar except not a moocow!

If you desperately want to try a new character, you could use it for a quest or two and have Quentyn focus on recruiting more haremettes, and then have him return later, assuming you want him to. Or you could just keep Quentyn around, since he's fine and everyone likes him.

I suggested that, if this campaign ends with you guys being successful (I'm not going to make that a certainty, and will make failing easy), I could run a sequel campaign set a few hundred years in the future.

Presumably, all but the immortal NPCs would be dead, sadly.

Considering all the stuff we've run roughshod over, hundreds of years doesn't seem like the best choice. Who knows what might remain standing at that point.

Even if Kirie's still alive, she wouldn't be likely to make waves anyway. I just want to avoid a scenario where the new party ends up feeling lame compared to the old, and the easiest way to do that is to make everything too far back for it to matter.

Yep. I remember watching the episode of Korra where Sokka, Aang, and Toph show up in a flashback and even forty years old and in a flashback that lasts one and a half minutes, they're way more interesting than the new cast with like nine episodes to themselves.

Or we could just run a game in Dark Sun or something.

If that happens, it's because people dropped the ball on characterization, IMO. Setting everything back just means that the characters will become more and more legendary, as tales of their exploits ascend from stuff that happened into the realm of myth.

If that happens, it's because people dropped the ball on characterization, IMO. Setting everything back just means that the characters will become more and more legendary, as tales of their exploits ascend from stuff that happened into the realm of myth.

You're assuming a certain level of repute for the party; it's not clear how far it will go.

Unless we have to become unsung ghosts specifically to stop an apocalypse...well, we're gonna get known. We're starting to make too much noise not to.

Maybe, but nobody knows there's even an apocalypse in the making, and optimally, no one ever will.

Oh no, but it doesn't take an apocalypse to get noticed. In fact, the apocalypse is the smallest think. Think about everything else we've done and will continue to do, that's more what I'm talking about.

(I'm not going to make that a certainty, and will make failing easy)

Ohhh... I don't like that notion very much at all. Maybe I'm overthinking it. I'll retain hope that it doesn't hinge on psychic knowledge of the one solution to everything in the back of the DM's head. Lots of bad memories of crap like that :(

I'll try to avoid such, yes.
