durandi, I didn't mean that I expected you to change around your whole nom for SD3, only that I thought your's was different than what I would have done. As I indicated with my follow-up post, there's plenty of options, and most of your's were on it.


If I may offer another suggestion to you Mega Mana regarding Link's Awakening:
Add "Staff Roll" and remove "Title"

I already made my opinion about the LoZLA list, but I agree that the credits should be in. I wish the Wind Fish reprise right before it (in the game) was part of the same track, but the staff roll stands well on its own.



As for the Sonic 2 nom, I'd have left off Emerald Hill, since I'm not a huge fan, but I thought it was generally well-regarded. If somebody else agrees to remove it, I'll gladly do so.

This took a while to decide on, but even if I am not sure how many supports it will get, I have to nominate this one. It is from my absolute favorite video game series, so I feel obligated.

Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix

Another Side: This is apparently exclusive to Final Mix. I say apparently because it was in the secret ending for the North America version. Really, the Final Mix label is probably only needed to clarify Disappeared, should it be used. Otherwise, there is no difference. Anyway, this is a good piece, I think it has potential.

Destiny’s Force: A complete gamble, hence why it is in the alternate slot. This is the first one I would swap out, should something better come up.

Forze del male: A strange battle theme, but one that seems to have gathered some fans. I am one of them. Board 8 may not have many others. I am willing to take the chance that a fair amount of people will like it, though.

Hand in Hand: I personally love this battle theme, but I have no idea what other opinions are of it. Another candidate for replacing if it comes to that.

Hikari KINGDOM Orchestra Instrumental Version: There is no way a Kingdom Hearts soundtrack can be made without this. Easily the strongest piece it has to offer and it is not budging unless someone can make a very compelling argument for another slot.

Hollow Bastion: One of my favorites, and it seems to be liked, since it keeps getting nominated for VGMC. I think this is a safe pick, though how well it will do remains to be seen.

The Deep End: I really like this battle theme too. Kingdom Hearts in general has a lot of music I like, the problem is figuring out which ones will please the voters.

Considerations for switching: Dearly Beloved, Disappeared, End of the World, Hikari, Night of Fate

Ones I love but Board 8 probably would not: Fragments of Sorrow, Guardando nel buio, Precious Stars in the Sky, Scherzo di notte, Shrouding Dark Cloud

Ah, down to the final day of nominations. I'm curious to see what we're going to get in this last period in a very morbid sort of way. Probably a few games that people refuse to allow be snubbed, and a ton of pet games and guilty pleasures.

After that, I'm leaving a one day period for everyone to get in additional support votes. I hope a day is enough for that. I seriously encourage everyone to listen to the first two tracks of as many games as you can. I humbly ask that you give games you're not familiar with a chance. I've only made it about 40% of the way down the list and already found a few that I was surprised to like. I'd hate for a game to get overlooked just because the game itself wasn't well known. (This day will also be the final day to finalize your nominations. After Monday, I will not be accepting playlist adjustments.)

To that effect, we are at this present moment at 126 nominations if I haven't missed any. I'm sure we'll get at least two more, so that means that at least half of your collective nominations will not be making the cut. As much as it pains me to know that right now quite a few of my babies will not make the bracket, I take solace in knowing that this in (in theory) because there are so many other great choices out there. Let's make this the best field we can.


BTW, if you're wondering, if I closed all polling right this minute, we would take all games with three support votes, and 9 out of the 23 with two votes.
