I kind of like the trade with the Blue Jays. I will miss Jackson but I didn't think that we were going to re-sign him after the offseason and we unloaded that awful Teahen contract. I just hope that what we got in return pans out. I like Frasor but the key was obviously this pitching prospect in Zach Stewart. I like this trade better than the one for Rasmus because we have enough OFs and OF prospects but we have lost a lot of our good pitching prospects through trades over the past couple of seasons

He's a solid hitter who is very good at getting on base. RBIs are a worthless stat to judge a player on, so I really don't care that he only has 13.

I never said that I placed my judgement on his RBIs. I don't know what his stats were like in Japan, probably pretty good if he got the contract that he did with the Cubs, but I don't think that he has figured out MLB pitching yet and given his age, I don't think that he has much time left to show that he can.

Phillies needed a right handed bat to diversify their lineup. It's a very good move for them.
Pence is a very good player, just no one notices him because he plays on a terrible team (similar to Ibanez before the Phillies picked him up)

On one hand, giving up the farm for Ubaldo isn't wonderful.

On the other, maybe if they're willing to sell the farm, they're willing to actually spend money.

What will happen is we will trade Ubaldo in two years for much much less than he is worth.
