Starcraft, I played a ton of multiplayer but barely touched the campaign

Metroid Prime, I guess? I made it up to the last boss and never beat it.

Or if we're including games that have single-player campaigns that we just never played, then the answer is easily Bomberman 64.

I think it might be Disgaea 5 for me. Got riiiiight to the last chapter, did some side grinding in prep for post-game shenanigans, and then promptly got distracted and let it sit. Such is the curse of the rpg.

Final Fantasy XIII, I made it to the boss of chapter 11

C&C Renegade.

I have thousands of hours on multiplayer, touched the campaign once. Didnt get far.

Technically I never beat the Ender Dragon as far as I can remember, and I've 1,000+ hours

I think XIV should count as in I've put in over 500 hours without beating ARR yet

probably Minecraft technically, although I never bothered with anything in the direction of "beating it" and just fooled around in free mode

as far as actual story-games, I'd say probably Shadows of Mordor?

Final Fantasy V. Twice I got to the end game and lost my save files plus I've made a random few attempts here and there that fizzle out after a few hours.

Disgaea and Grandia maybe? Got up to the last boss in Disgaea and close in Grandia.

Probably FF IX.

Might be Xenosaga 2....started that game twice and got halfway through each time and lost interest. I still own Xenosaga 3 and have never played it.

I played till the last dungeon of FFIX and never finished it, so probably that.

Monster Hunter Freedom 2.

then after that probably something like Magna Carta or Blazing Souls or XCX

I don't think I ever finished the main campaign stuff in Age of Empires 2, so probably that.

I want to say Breath of Fire 3? Must have been at least five playthroughs, most of which I quit around the desert.

I wanna say Skyward Sword? I ran into the game breaking bug near the end and lost any motivation to touch it again. Maybe Xenoblade, if not. I also think I may have left Dragon Quest IX at the final boss?

Prior to about a year and a half ago it would have likely been Golden Sun. I made it to the end multiple times but never beat the final boss, then finally played through and beat it recently.

Maybe Elden Ring, but that feels unfair when I'm currently playing it, it's not like I put it down.

Worms Armageddon, maybe? Don't recall if I ever beat the campaign or whatever it was called but it was one of my absolute favorites.

I never beat the Starcraft: BW campaign without cheat codes though so maybe that's a better answer. >_>

Dragon Quest XI.

I did get the normal end, but I have never completed Act 3 / reached the True End. The plot twist that happens at the start of Act 3 kind of ruined the game for me.

Ark: Survival Evolved

I was going to explain how absurdly difficult it is to beat these game, but I was nearing my 3rd paragraph and even that was exhausting. That kinda speaks for itself.

First thought is Pillars of Eternity 2 since I burned out right at the end and probably had like 200 hours or something silly on it. Too lazy to check.

This was actually my second thought since I picked it up because of the Spring 2004 contest and it was basically my first RTS and I was a lot younger and I just can't quite recall if I beat it legit. I might have but I just don't recall. It'd be the last Zerg mission if anything, I think. I think I'd have been stubborn enough to do it back then (and today I don't think I'd have much trouble) but I'm just not sure.

Easily Skyrim. Over 200 hours on it, all wasted on side quests and experimenting with mods, never beat the main campaign. Probably never will either. I lost the PC with my mod setup and don't really want to go through the headache of doing it over.

FFX-2 is a distant second place with 4 started playthroughs. Probably got around 40 hours on it all attempts considered. Stuff comes up and I'm not driven to continue.

After that you'd be looking at difficult games that I never got through. However about 7 years ago I went through the NES library and made a point to beat ghosts from my childhood-- Double Dragon 1, Double Dragon 3, Bionic Commando, Mike Tyson's Punch Out, Ninja Gaiden 1, Ninja Gaiden 2 so as far as actual good unbeaten games go on this front there wouldn't be much left, so probably nothing I'd have more than a few hours on.

It's definitely Uncharted Waters 2: New Horizons, where I've spent at least over 100 hours and never finished any of the six campaigns in it. Most of my time was spent with the campaign of the guy trying to make a map of the entire world and then just fooling around for a while, since he has no story events during his quest.

oh I forgot about Dark Souls 2. I probably spent close to the amount I did in the other games, but I've only just entered the castle.

I'd probably try to finish it if it wasn't for my PS3 apparently starting to break down (does the 3 beeps when you turn it on)

Probably Persona 5. I'm like 90 hours in and still haven't beaten it.

And the reason why the hours are so long is that whenever I get back to the game, I have to recall certain parts of the game because of the long gaps in between playing.

Tales of Berseria. I was in the final dungeon, had slogged through a long section with a big enemy chain, a rare enemy appeared in battle or however that worked, I beat it and got damned near as much grade from that fight as I had gotten from the rest of the game combined, and the game hardlocked. I never went back.

For primarily online games that have a campaign mode, its definitely Starcraft.

Otherwise I think it might be Final Fantasy II. Ive started it three different times, (emulation of the original, Final Fantasy Origins, and Pixel Remaster) but I always give up about halfway through.

I also got very far in Berseria.

Tales of Arise is the only Tales game I completed.

I played 50ish hour of Cyberpunk 2077 before acknowledging that I didn't enjoy a single second of the game past the prologue.

My first thought is that I got a bit over 100 hours into DQXI (up to the start of part 3) and then stopped. I need to get back to it at some point.

Fallout 4 oddly enough lol

180 hours in crusader kings 3, still have never made it to the end

I'm also going to say Berseria, but I'm GOING to beat it. Unfortunately I have the PC edition and my PC is crapping out on me. Once it's fixed, I'll be back at it.

I am at 175 hours btw. Playing on the harder difficulties has made equipment management a total nightmare, but it HAS made battles actually enjoyable.

Skyrim is probably second. I've gotten like 25-30 hours in four times but then I get bored and give up.

Suikoden III probably. Sank about 60 hours into it, but the endgame is brutal. Fuck Yuber.

Probably La-Mulana 2. Got the the final area and just kind of stopped. (that area is pretty uninspired, tbh). Then 2 years later I replayed the game until ragequitting at Surtr, since that boss is BS

probably xenoblade. i must've played like 60 hours but i was doing every sidequest and i only got like half way through.

DQXI if you count that, playing on harder monsters took like 80 hours to "beat" the game but i didn't finish the post-game
