Haven't watched the anime, but the manga is very slow paced and easy going; takes a while for any relationships to make any real progress. I don't really remember any melodrama though.

That's good to hear but I wonder what the heck episodes are gonna consist of then. Maybe they lean more into a comedy direction or come up with some other goal for the characters to pursue.

I like how akai haato is literally red heart. Was a good choice for her song title. Kind of hope she has some sort of insanity driven follow up relating to becoming haachama to really solidify the lore. Of all the hololive girls, I'm most curious about what the heck she is like in real life. Such a truly insane character.

As much as I love Gura's rendition of that, there's something about Haachama's broken engrish accent when she sings that really makes the song that little bit better.

Jobless reincarnation continues to be really good. Probably best show that I've started watching this season. The animation and art are a step above the other more average looking isekai this season and it's just a really enjoyable straight forward take on the genre.

Also caught up on the last town kid one and it's still very light hearted fun.

All in all just loving season and theres still plenty of things I want to watch that I haven't started. Wish I could handle watching more per day. It does seem to be getting a little bit easier so hopefully I can work up to more.

Watched Maoujou de Oyasumi. Was a lot more fun than I was expecting. Had some nice laughs from it. No idea what I'm watching next. Maybe I'll finally get to watching some more Gintama, or maybe I'll watch the last two seasons of Supernatural, not sure.

The main thing I was afraid of was that people would be turned off from super-early Rudy because he is legitimately a bad person at the start (in the light novel, the incident that causes him to get kicked out of his house by his siblings is loli shit, not even just general degeneracy), but I guess the anime probably went the way of the manga and toned it down some. Still haven't gotten around to watching it yet though, I'll probably binge when 5+ eps are out.

Assuming you mean before he dies and reincarnates, I don't think they show specifically why they kicked him out. It sorta looked like a parent died and after that point the family decided to kick him out but they weren't super clear. They did show that he was super pathetic and gross but we really only get brief glimpses of that. Rudy after being reincarnated is a bit of a perv but so far has been a decent kid outside of stealing panties.

It's not graphic or described in detail or anything (the pre-reincarnation bits are pretty fast), it mostly serves to show that he really deserved what his siblings gave him.

he was whackin it to illegal stuff during his parents' funeral. they busted in his room mad at him for not showing his face at the funeral, and were horrified by what they saw him looking at, which he was defensive and indignant about

pre reincarnation mc was legitimately a terrible person outside of the moment where he died. i think it makes his second life a lot more impressive, considering he's forcing himself to become a better person through sheer willpower

i think he's way more interesting than "i worked too hard at a black company and died to stress" isekai mcs anyways. rather than just learning to love himself, he's forcing a fundamental change on his outlook on life

edit: on second thought, the specific details about why he got thrown out might have not even been in the light novel but only the web novel; web novels are often a lot less sanitized than their light novel counterparts (like how SAO had chapter 16.5 in the web novel..............)

The anime definitely makes it appear like he was kicked out because the parent supporting him was no longer around. Like, it seemed pretty clear the family was headed up to his room to kick him out before they opened the door and I don't think a single word was uttered in the first life at all. Was honestly really well done. Kinda reminded me of the real life sections of .hack//sign in that without any words and just a few brief moments they can convey a lot about a person's situation and character. If that type of narritive device has a name, I'm a fan of it, although I can really only think of these two instances.

Probably a good change on the anime's part to trim that part down the way it did. He still clearly comes off as a fucked up pathetic gross failure skipping the funeral of the person supporting him to jerk off to something even if we don't see what it was.

I came across the manga Tomodachi Game and I'm loving it so far. It's very similar to Liar Game; a group of five good friends are kidnapped and forced to play a series of games where they must lie and betray their friends in order to pay off a massive debt. It was preceded by the revelation that someone among them had already betrayed the others just before any of this for personal gain, which sows more doubt and throws another wrench into the mix.

I have fond memories of Episode 40 of Gundam Seed Destiny for this reason. The fansubbers got sick of it at that point and did joke subs for that episode before handing the series to a different group. (That is one series for which I never paid a red cent, piece of shit that it is.)

Some years ago, I watched a magical girl parody about an evil princess who used submission moves on her enemies. I was curious if it had been continued, but apparently it hadn't. I also lucked out on googling it since I didn't remember the name. Got it on my third or fourth search attempt.

it's so much better of an experience than gbf, if you ever get burnt out you can just do all your dailies and spend al stamina optimally in like 5 minutes

Neat, it's finally in English then. Know I've probably mentioned it a couple times, but I'm kind of close to quitting gbf myself. Still enjoy the world and characters, but ugh at the tedium they keep adding. More gold bars for the new eternal uncaps is really annoying too. The worst part, is the shear amount of apologists that are totally ok with them adding a shit grind.

Yeah gbf's grind has been even more gross over the years. I have to spend ten fuckin hours on gw prelims!!!

Meanwhile priconne's gw-equivalent is spend your daily stamina as usual, then fight at 3-6 bosses on a timer of 90s each. It's like I died and went to gbf heaven.

And the production values are ridiculous.

Some other problems with gbf are how diluted the draw pool has become and lack of sunstones. At least I finished off the Arcarum summons, so I can hopefully get back to using them for what they're actually for. Have two sparks saved and I'm at least going to get Kumbhira before quitting, so I've got all the main zodiacs. Just pretend summer Anila doesn't exist. Can you play Priconne the same was as gbf, via browser?

I doubt anything is as bad as Crestoria's grinding. The real way to power up characters is by doing the events over and over again because the raid drop rates are pure shit.

naw, and the game is 1000x better for it; being held back by browser limitations is exactly why gbf is so laggy and clunky and obtuse. priconne's UI is a million times more user friendly and polished than gbf's

jp has a PC app version but it seems like en doesn't (yet?)

you can actually play gbf for like 10+ hours a day, and occasionally the game pretty much expects you to. gbf is on a whole different level of mobile game

I follow one You Tube person who normally does vids for the Danmachi and Re: Zero games, and he said the Priconne community was too toxic for him to enjoy making any content for it. That is all I know of the game.

Haha, nice, Kumbhira popped up in this month's premium gala banner. Was totally expecting her next month instead. Nice to finally have the boar zodiac after waiting for a year for her to return. 17 SSRs in my spark, which makes yet another below average spark in volume, but at least I pulled Cain.

I still haven't got back to Demon Slayer. I think the long fights might have curbed my enthusiasm. The point where I left off wasn't even a bad point, either.

I did realize that Witchcraft Works has a few more chapters up, which I'm going to check out even though it doesn't look like they're anywhere near close to the end of the current arc. (And someday I might watch the anime.)

And I might go back and see if a few series I followed years ago have finished.

Man, jobless reincarnation really is a level above everything else production wise. I heard the studio was formed solely to adapt this to anime and theres a lot of money behind it. Seeing the brief fight at the end of the latest episode as well as just general magic effects has me really excited for whenever real fights do break out. Rudy and his father are kind of scum though but at least they are entertaining scum.

I'm watching like 6 shows and none of them are on that list.

Jobless reincarnation and horimiya are both really great quality wise. Horimiya is a bit less exciting for me cause it's romance and I just don't like romance as much as isekai. Jobless reincarnation is legit fantastic though. i look forward to it all week.

Below that we have the spider isekai which IMO is pretty good. It's a lot like slime if the slime was actually weak like he was supposed to be. A lot of the anime is the spider just trying to beat weak opponents to not get murdered while slowly gaining power. The pacing is a little bad though because there are two story threads going on and the one that isn't the spider just is not nearly as interesting yet.

On about the same level is last town kid or whatever you wanna call it about the weakest kid from the last town that goes to a normal city and still thinks he is super weak but is actually OP as hell. It's got kinda the same vibe as that tenchi ISM show if you've seen that. It's lighthearted and goofy and fun.

Wonder Egg priority is supposed to be really good but I haven't watched it.

I've also watched bottom tier character which is honestly not very good but I still enjoy it which is about a nerd who has given up on life and is the best smash bros player in japan but the 2nd best player (who is a hot girl) wants to meet up and convinces him to actually try at life. Pretty cringy but I like that the main character is actually socially awkward instead of the normal anime character "unpopular". This dude mumbles and doesn't make eye contact and doesn't know wtf to say. Kinda painful to watch sometimes. Also kinda refereshing that at least so far the hot girl helping him legit has no feelings for him. Like, there is zero sexual tension between them. Wouldn't be surprised if eventually something happens but at least so far I kinda like that.

And then the worst I've seen is dungeon only I can enter. It has atrocious writing and is shameless fanservice which I don't mind on it's own but the main character is just so fucking boring.
