It really is amazing how much vtubers have grown over the last year. I didn't realize Pokimane was so big. I only know her from back when she did ASMR. And while I recognize that fourth is a pretty big deal, that's a pretty distant fourth. I mean, it's definitely sad with the post-post-apocalyptic setting and I caught feels pretty often, but the way people hype the game, I was expecting one of the greatest video game stories, with some kind of major twist in the final act. I'd say the only such twist was in act II; there were some revelations near the end but they weren't as jarring as the big one(s). Overall I definitely liked the game, with great characters and exploration of what makes one alive/a person. But rather than the story (and 2B's fine, fine ass), I think what I most enjoyed was the music. I hadn't really known much about the inspiration. Kinda tempted to watch it, though. The combat/rpg aspects are probably some of the poorest balance I've seen in a triple A video game that I largely tie down to being able to carry enough healing items to full heal like 100 times and being able to use them while paused at any moment so the only thing that can kill is a oneshot unless you are just too lazy to heal. The player has a more powerful moveset than bayonetta but the enemy movesets are almost all incredibly slow and basic. The music though. The music is godlike, I still listen to the soundtrack from time to time and that really gave the game it's unique feel. I also think some of the side story content was pretty good, especially the one about the E type android. Zeus posted... I didn't realize Pokimane was so big. I only know her from back when she did ASMR. I thought she was the biggest female streamer by far. I was really surprised to see her not at #1. Also I was wrong about marine being the next to hit 1 mil cause aqua did like 2 days ago. However, I started reading the manga -- which has some pretty solid artwork -- and quickly made the connection, especially after a character talks about oni hunters. Looking to be my favorite season in quite a while. But I keep getting recommended videos of Ame and Kiara's past uploads where they definitely show their face and I'm worried they might get doxxed or something. It is kind of nice knowing where they came from, a lot of EN was really not doing well before hololive picked them up and now they all seem to be doing great. it SHOULD be relatively fine. The majority of streamers show their face and generally manage to be ok. For a vtuber example nyanners still has up some of her old stuff that shows her face IIRC. She's got over 1 mil subs and fair amount of people that hate her but it seems to be going fine. Then again vtubers for some reason seem to get hit with extra crazy people. I know uto is having trouble and taking a break right now because of it and even melody had to go through quite a bit and of course aloe even though she is back streaming under a different name (a very poorly kept secret). There needs to be stricter contracts with riggers and artists to prevent a lot of this stuff. In other hololive news, Marine less than 10k away from 1 mil. Will probably hit it tomorrow if not today. Gura will probably hit 2 mil today or tomorrow as well. I wonder how high Gura will go before it slows down, if it ever does. It kind of surprises me that she grows SO much quicker than everyone else. She has over double the subs of everyone else that debuted at the same time and it's not like they are growing slowly. I keep getting recommended videos from up to 8 years ago of certain HoloEN Vtubers "past lives" without me even looking for them. I wonder how the girls feel about Youtube itself snitching on them. I mean, Gura might be better off since I don't think she's ever shown her face before. But I keep getting recommended videos of Ame and Kiara's past uploads where they definitely show their face and I'm worried they might get doxxed or something. Hopefully Cover can protect them from any bad stuff that might come for them.</quote>Same although they've also been throwing the JP girls old stuff at me as well. It is kind of nice knowing where they came from, a lot of EN was really not doing well before hololive picked them up and now they all seem to be doing great. it SHOULD be relatively fine. The majority of streamers show their face and generally manage to be ok. For a vtuber example nyanners still has up some of her old stuff that shows her face IIRC. She's got over 1 mil subs and fair amount of people that hate her but it seems to be going fine. Then again vtubers for some reason seem to get hit with extra crazy people. I know uto is having trouble and taking a break right now because of it and even melody had to go through quite a bit and of course aloe even though she is back streaming under a different name (a very poorly kept secret). There needs to be stricter contracts with riggers and artists to prevent a lot of this stuff. In other hololive news, Marine less than 10k away from 1 mil. Will probably hit it tomorrow if not today. Gura will probably hit 2 mil today or tomorrow as well. I wonder how high Gura will go before it slows down, if it ever does. It kind of surprises me that she grows SO much quicker than everyone else. She has over double the subs of everyone else that debuted at the same time and it's not like they are growing slowly. I may continue watching it but it's definitely the worst thing I've seen so far this season. It basically centers around this concept that main guy can give himself skills or edit anythings skills (enemies, allies, himself). Doing those things however costs LP depending on what it is and the only way to gain LP is to indulge himself, generally in something ecchi. The characters are pretty bland. On the other hand jobless reincarnation is really good. I was surprised to see it had such high ratings for a generic premise but the production value is great and the main character is enjoyable so far. The magic system is quite in depth and it's been fun to watch him learn about it. Also wtf was with Inosuke being ordered to cut Akara or whatever's arms? That just meant Rengoku died in vain. And way to kill off a character we barely got to know. Really feeling that emotional impact -_- Honestly, not sure why they bothered, other than just to have a Pillar job to a 12-moon which, considering that we already knew 12-moons had killed Pillars before, didn't really do much of anything. Granted, as soon as the hero started to demonstrate fire powers, I kinda suspected that the existing fire Pillar had to go away to make room. Also, just finished Kami tachi ni Hirowareta Otoko, which I liked a lot more than I thought I was going to. Was a nice use of slimes and kind of a nice slow paced isekai.
