Started reading The Beginning After the End -- about a king being reincarnated as a baby/child in a new world -- which seemed promising... but I somehow got sucked into reading So Pure, So Flirtatious, a kinda ecchi webtoon (or manhwa?) about a guy who finds magic contact lens. It's such unbelievable trash and the artwork for the women doesn't even seem good (which, in a series about magic contact lens, is kind of a big deal), but I'm kinda hooked.

Yeah, it's something that comes up near the end. It's not necessarily a major reveal or pivotal plot point, but it's part of a major event and potentially impacts the overall narrative. It wasn't so much for you but anybody else who saw the series and could maybe clarify it. However, I *think* I might have found my answer via wiki, if the wiki's description is right.

About that part of monster IIRC the sister was taken and the fact that it happened to his sister and not him broke him mentally. I could be misremembering though, been like 15 years since I've seen it.

Been so long since I watched Monster. Only takeaway I have from the show, is remembering that it'd have been better if it were two eps shorter, by cutting bits of filler here and there throughout the show to increase its pacing just a tad.

tbh, it's rather stunning how much of that show I've forgotten despite only seeing it maybe 15 years ago. However, something like that always stuck out in my mind because I hadn't been sure about it.

Yeah, I think it's a really good anime but I do not like the ending. Like, what the doctor does, the history of the bad guy, the entire final scenario. Didn't like any of that. But the first 60 or so episodes were great.

There really are a lot of them. Quite a few of the jp hololive girls seem to be getting a lot better at english too which is cool. Especially sora, pekora, marine, and korone. I think korone is the closest to fluent despite moments like oh I'm die, thank you forever although maybe sora is closer, I'm not sure. I'll be kinda sad if they get too good at english though. Korone and marine especially have some pretty amazing engrish.

Anyone ever think about how Momo Yaoyorozu from My Hero Academia massively underutilizes her powers?

She can create anything, but is limited by mass since it burns calories to create, but she's both extremely inefficient and wasteful with her choice of items.

Why is one of her biggest moves creating a cannon? She could create C4 and it would be just as destructive. If she needs range she could create an RPG or grenade launcher. Both are smaller and more effective than a cannon, which people stopped using for good reason.

If she needs something more non-lethal, she should be creating flash bangs and concussive stun grenades.

She should just be able to create a gun, but she could also create a rubber bullet shot gun or stun gun for a non lethal approace.

But she doesn't do any of this on a regular basis. Instead she's creating sticks for melee combat.

In truth, she should be able to destroy basically anyone that doesn't have super speed or endurance based on her ability to make guns alone.

I watched 5 Centimeters Per Second this weekend. I had originally watched the first part of it all the way back when Dattebayo released a sub an eternity ago. Very feels film mainly taking place in the 90s. I wish there were more adult-centered anime dramas to be watched.

It's hard to find shows about adults that aren't action or sci-fi oriented. That's slowly changing, but the medium is still highly populated by fantasy and stories about teenagers.

So Pure, So Flirtatious is so fucking weird. They set up some magic contact lens then they haven't come up since he got caught cheating. Wtf? Then there all of these random events. It's become a really fucking weird slice-of-life, with a lot of occasionally dark shit like the hero getting drugged, tossed in a bed with a kidnapped girl, then framed for rape... only for the charges to go away after he spends a week in prison because the girl realizes he'd helped her before

Nobody utilizes their powers well in MHA and technology hasn't evolved as you would expect it to (faster more penetrative bullets in small arms for isntance). The bullets we use in real life are not the strongest we can make, it's just you don't need incredibly powerful bullets to take down normal humans. If there were enough people running around with rock bodies and super speed you'd see much more potent firearms. There would also probably be a lot more poison gas if bullets really just couldn't handle things. With how technology would realistically progress, powers that enhance mobility and stealth or whose use can't be detected would be the strongest but only slightly stronger than a normal human with a gun and they'd all use guns.

it's literally unplayable on my phone with certain (extremely OP) characters' UBs slowing the game down to a crawl (princess characters use FMV, which doesn't seem to frame skip very well... and I use about four of them regularly), unless i have 4x play speed, but it took like 2 years for that to be implemented in jp and only in certain content

She could make a hand cannon aka a desert eagle which is a 50 caliber gun which shoots is massively overpowered for shooting human targets (leaves a hole in you the size of a melon) though against supermutants it would be great.
Though maybe its still illegal for anyone not in law enforcement to use one.

Definitely part of why I don't really like MHA. Part of it begs you not to think too hard because legitmately accounting for all the applications and interactions of hundreds to thousands of unique powers is just unreasonable but then the way they approach every arc begs you to think about those things in depth to come up with a solution. Definitely feel the show is at it's best when it's just raw power and ideals vs raw power and ideals. Something where the solution is punch harder.

It's already been demonstrated that the use of guns themselves is not prohibited by Heroes in My Hero My Hero Academia (although if there are rules about specific types of firearms is not specified). One of the teachers at the school is a cowboy who can manipulate bullet trajectory with his powers. And he's shot people with his guns, non lethally, but he's shot them.

Although it should be noted that the Desert Eagle is a fairly unwieldly handgun in real life, and if being compact for storage isn't an issue, Yaoyorozu could just make a rifle.

You're right, so I guess it would depend on how many times she would need to shoot. If she's shooting a lot, committing to making the rifle would be more worth it. She also takes longer to make larger things, so that's also something to consider when choosing which to make.

For her specifically, creating ammo for guns would actually be an extremely efficient use of her abilities. She doesn't need to weigh herself down with ammo and could make as much as she needs.

I think one of the larger issue's with her character is one of her star traits is supposed to be her genius and creativity but she's absolutely not allowed to outshine Deku in this department if he's anywhere nearby since intelligence is also one of his star traits, and he's the protagonist.

So she's essentially only allowed to demonstrate her intelligence when Deku is not around.

That doesn't really explain the poor utilization of her powers though.

Finished up tonikawa. It was good all the way to the end even though the few plot threads that exist weren't really expanded on (going to the moon and the girl's history). I assume a S2 would probably address those things but honestly I'd probably prefer they just didn't. The show is better without any real drama.

Not sure what I'll watch next. Might watch a few of the first eps for the current season.

I watched episode 1 of slimes new season. Still such a fun show.

Also it seems nyanners just hit 1 mil subs on youtube (well probably a day or two ago). As far as I know, thats the first non hololive vtuber to hit 1 mil (well full time vtuber, I guess lilypichu uses a vtuber avatar sometimes) which is pretty impressive considering they stream on twitch. A bunch of hololive girls are nearing 1 mil as well. Marine should be next I think which is cool. As time has gone on marine and korone have become my favorites of the jp girls at least.
