Redd is here with two real paintings I need, but also a fake valiant statue and I was almost tempted to take the statue for decorative purposes. Ultimately took the real moving painting. :(

The other real is a scary painting, if anyone wants to come over for it.

...also if anyone wants to come over and buy the fake valiant statue and then mail it to me tomorrow that would be nice too.

Turkey Day festivities were fun. None of the ingredients were much of a pain to track down, but I probably got lucky with the crab.

Also I had Celeste and stars last night, and I got two Sagittarius fragments today, so that's already handled for the month too!

Now time to get to work demolishing my tavern and replacing it with a holiday feast area.

You could have traded stuff to your villagers and they'll just give you one. That's how I got mine.

That wasn't a guarantee. I traded stuff with five animals and didn't get a crab from anyone.

I got pretty lucky, it took me maybe like 10 trades, but each trade was like an item for another villager, so I didnt really have to go out of my way too much.

I must have gotten really lucky in both this game and New Leaf because it felt like the trades prioritized things I didn't have but still needed.

The three things I needed from trades, 2 different pumpkins and dungeoness crab, I got really quickly.

Two of my trades were green pumpkins (when I'd already used a green pumpkin for the pie), another was a round mushroom that wasn't even an ingredient for anything, one was a mussel which was needed, and I forget what the fifth one was (but if I don't remember then it was probably unnecessary).

usually when you get someone useless like a round mushroom (I got a lot of dabs), someone else will eventually ask for it

I found them to be stupidly rare too.

walking sticks are afflicted with the full BS combo of "only appear for a few hours a day at odd times", "hard to see unless they're on palm trees", and "very easily startled if you don't notice them in time"

I still need to find one more by the end of the month for the model... planning on going to a NMT island to hunt when I have the time so that there's less area to search, but even then it'll be a pain bc their entire spawning time overlaps with that of butterflies, which don't go away even if you pick all the flowers and can only be removed by catching them :/

Oh shit, need to catch Mitten Crab by end of today. Hopefully they're not that hard to fine.

Same with Golden Trout, but waiting until March for it to reappear again isn't that long of a wait.

And somehow I missed catching aRainbowfish entirely.

Nook Tour islands keep the possible spawns they had when you got there, so go on a tour in the window and pray one shows up before you want to leave.

I actually managed it just by moving the fruit trees to an open area, chopping down everything else, and just pacing for a few minutes. So if anyone else still needs one give that a go.

Woooo, all fish caught and donated. First time I've done so in the four AC games I've played. I just love how much more accessible the game is now that villagers won't randomly move away. Such a simple change, but makes the game so much better.

Also TOYS. I got the purple RC helicopter today and a friend sent me the silver tin robot. They aren't customizable so gotta trade to get all the variants.

And new seasonal clothes in Able's. Gave Tangy a festive tree dress and it fits her perfectly.

I wish the campsite visitors stuck around for a few days before leaving, and ventured out onto the island. I am happy that the villagers don't arbitrarily move away but I do miss the sense of transience, oddly enough.

Yeah, I did like seeing old villagers hang out on Main Street or drop in at The Roost in New Leaf. I'm really hoping for a 2.0 update at some point that includes a whole bunch of upgrades and things, and more villager interactions is one of the big things they need to implement.

That said I still go through neighbors pretty regularly, so I still get a sense of transience on my island. I think they even increased how often campers show up or villagers ask to leave in one of the recent updates. I used to go a long time between campers, but now it seems like one shows up every 3-4 days.

Woo, all 8 snowflake DIYs out of the way before the festives join the fun.

FYI: some websites haven't updated their guides and thus they do not mention the falling snow wall as one of the snowflake DIYs. They probably also don't mention the festive rug in their list of festive DIYs. These two were just added in with the 1.6 update.

Also my third frog moved in today so I guess I'm officially living on Frog Island. I made sure to decorate my entrance accordingly. It's certainly not something I ever expected, but Ribbot showed up in the campsite and I figured I had to take him. If Huck had given me his photo already I would've reset until he was the one being replaced, but sadly Curt had to go. :(

Don't forget to talk to your older snowboys each day as they melt. If they're perfect they'll give you a large snowflake every day. Imperfect ones don't.
