Btw as a long term investment, look at the Cruise industry as one that should rebound pretty hard once life starts normalizing. They pretty much have had all their teeth kicked in and their guts ripped out so not long from now they will have nowhere to go but up. And people like cruises a lot.

This is bad advice. Do not do this. Just pay yourself each paycheck and build your pot that way.

The main thing to keep in mind when trading (if youre not Buying to Hold): dont be greedy.

Make the profit then find another position to invest in.

Also, dont sell if youre at a loss/in the red. Just hold it and be patient. You only lose money after you sell it.

I'm having a pretty good time of making little bits of profit here and there. Actually got a nice chunk today, it's pretty fun! As I said before, I'm totally new to the game - I'm assuming it's not remotely this easy to make money on this when things aren't in complete chaos?

But after today extreme crash I am not really sure tomorrow will be red as well
There should be a correction of sort...

The stocks are down so much it feels like the market thinks some of these chains are going bankrupt. Management has been so aggressive for decades at overleveraging, buying back shares, and borrowing money, they can't withstand closing for a month.

Agreed. Even at $3, I wouldn't recommend anyone buy Station Casinos stock. I have significant doubt about their ability to stay in business.

It's absurd. A quarter of the world is going to be unemployed because the government militantly shut down human interaction to spare people from a mild disease. I hate everything right now.

Im looking at Carnival Cruise stocks. Theyre way down from their 52 week high. Theyre incredibly risky, but if they survive this event then there will be a big payoff at the end.

Cruise lines are scary for me because I can't imagine them being impervious to an industry collapse. The US government will never let the airline industry go under though. And if they do, then we have a lot more to worry about than losing some money on the stock market.

I bought five figures worth of airline stock and watched it lose 10% in a day today. That was not very pleasant, but I'm hopeful that I can hang onto it for a year and make bank.

Just have to tell yourself it is not a matter of if you are going to make money, it is a matter of when.

Obviously, the later in the slide you buy the better, but it is better to be early than late.

Going to buy into EVRI and GLUU, dirt cheap stocks with a 52-week high of $15 and $11.

Vegas will live again and most people are stuck at home with their phones.

Might buy into WYNN also but I'll wait til next week.

This is likely a correction moreso than a sign of turnaround. We should hit a point where there is a slow creep down rather than a panic sell off.

Haven't missed anything yet but I don't think we will see massive falls either.

Noticed Robinhood has a LOT of negative reviews because the app is buggy. Is this just people who are salty cause they lost their money or legitimate? Should I be looking into something else?

Edit: Looks like most of the negative reviews are from March 2nd and I assume it went down for a time then. Not sure why they're all at the top but heh.

This is unacceptable
Even a 5 minutes downtime in this kind of market can be a disaster for some

Not to mention people putting money in meme stocks and see them crash and burn and can't do anything about that

Etrade is very user friendly i will throw it another recommendation. Bonus 100 for 5000 deposit as well, 200 on 25k and scaling from there. There are higher bonuses on lesser services but I don't recommend and they have higher deposit reqs.

Free $100 is a free $100.

But I'd already started the Robinhood process before that point and now they have a bunch of my information and my foot is in the door and bleh. Maybe I'll just play around this with like $1000 and move onto Etrade with $5000+ when I feel like maybe taking this a bit more seriously.

Pissed I missed out on some sick gains today. Market probably goes back down tomorrow. Then who knows what happens over the weekend.

You want to buy before the stimulus is passed or wait.

Dont be fooled by the immediate gains of the stimulus and buy because reality will set in and stocks will fall again.

But i do think we are near enough to the bottom now that looking at long term investments is fine. We shouldnt see anymore 10% drop days. All the reactionary sales to our new reality should be over.

Dow futures are up big for some reason. 5% right now.

Maybe someone can educate me. If a stock closed at $2.00, the ask price is $2.10, I buy ten shares at the $2.00 price, and it opens at $2.10....am I up $1 at that point? Or am I at $0?
