I just feel like today wont be as surging as I thought, and I also think another dip is definitely coming at which point Id invest after that (if I can time it right)

What do you guys think of MFA? Selling at $7.50 before the crash and currently sitting at $.36. They could go bankrupt but it wouldnt take much to get back in business. Looks like theyve been struggling to make their margin calls, but if they get an extension then they could be golden and go up literally 1.000%.

I am putting a sizable amount into them today. Low risk high reward

Into MFA? Id say the risk is very high.

They went down 88% yesterday.

Glad I got in on the airline stocks almost at their nadir. Pissed I didn't have the guts to throw more in there, but I suppose having liquid cash isn't the worst thing in the world. I think I am poised to make enough for a sizable down payment on a house after this is all said and done.

do you think the easement was the bottom or did you sell because Q2 is coming? I sold at close yesterday

I made $100 on MFA today. I only out $1,000 into it.

I got ERI at $18.86 so Ill be sitting on that. Looking like its gonna be down today. Ill sit on it.

FYI the time for flights wouldve been yesterday or the day before. You should sell and wait for the dip before investing in them again IMO

I don't day trade; I invest.

I actually just fed more money in as I was posting that previous post. Even if I get in "late," I am assuming all of the airline (and Boeing) stocks will at least double by this time next year. I am more than happy with 100% returns.

I really do applaud you guys for day-trading like this. It takes a lot of balls and your x-stats work has clearly primed you all for this. I just don't have the stomach for it.

But I am very happy to know that a good portion of my savings is slowly doubling rather than sitting in a bank.

Agreed. This topic is a good reminder of why I come back to this place. As social dysfunctional as many of us are (not me), the thing that binds us has always been predictive mathematics and statistics. 18 years of contest analysis is truly paying off!

Day trading is a hobby/gambling.

Investing is a long game but you should definitely be mindful to sell everything if you see something like a coronavirus coming.

Gotta take the Renaissance route and just cash out at intelligent intervals, take the tax hits, then reinvest the principal in other sectors. I have so many friends whose entire earnings were wiped out in this past month because they didn't want to pay 15% capital gains taxes on them. It's crazy.

Lmao. Im still learning but Ive come a long way. For example, Im not stressing the $2,000 Im currently down today from putting $29k into ERI at $18.82. The me last week would be sweating.

I'm not investing as much as you guys but working from home has definitely made me more active. It's fun.

ERI past $19.10 as of this post. I put a Stop for $19. Guaranteed profit baby! Hoping it continues going up, Ill probably sell by end of day because I dont trust tomorrows market.

Now that I finally understand Stops, I put another one in at 19.50, and then another one at 19.75 since ERI was past 20.

It finally dipped below 19.75 so my order executed. $1,300 profit! Now Im hoping it burns...

I may have been too quick to the draw with my 19.75 Stop order. ERI has been trending up all day and will likely finish above 21. But like I said, Im still learning.

Just one caution on stops. It's not guaranteed because the stock can gap past your stop. Like, let's say it closed at $20 today and the stop didn't trigger. Some disaster happens overnight and the stock opens at $15 - then your order gets executed at $15 instead of $19.75.

Yes, I learned that. Thanks for the reminder though. And also, many stocks dont go to every penny. So in my case today, for example, I put the stop at 19.75 but it executed at 19.70 due to the fluctuation.

That is why I will never place a stop during off hours! At least, not in the manner in which I did today.

I would not have taken my money out of ERI until *at least* 28 tbh.

But hey profit is profit. I sold most of my MFA stock at 1.31 earlier from a .35 buy lol

Yeah so what I like to do is look at the big fallers for the day and the reason behind it along with other things.

MFA has been rock fucking solid for years. So this stupid drop was just panic because they have an overall good track record. No one with that track record is going under due to corona virus.

I dont doubt that it will rise to 28 or even higher. It will just take more time than Id like. And Id prefer doing it after the dip, which I can sense coming next week.
