Can someone explain how MFO is related to MFA? Same with MFA-PB. Can you invest into them separately? Seems theyre all related or share revenue?

Strongly considering putting $30k into MFA at closing. It dipped a lot the final four. Id be hoping for a 50% open tomorrow.

They don't get rich via the market, the game is rigged. Eventually everyone gives any gains they make back to the market, it's just a question of how long until they blow up. It's a casino.

Everyone thinks they're gonna be the next Warren Buffett.

If you were a really good trader you'd have taken out a second mortgage in February and used the money to sell casino/travel stocks short. Then you'd have flipped your position at the bottom and bought them.. You'd have made a fortune by now and wouldn't need to worry about losing your job as you'd be rich.

That said, people don't usually like to brag about their losses. So if you are reading a message board, you're going to see mostly stories about winning. Even when the country has a whole has lost trillions in the last month, so people on here making money is definitely a minority outcome.

For the record things like this don't make you a good trader, they make you a good gambler.

Don't gamble with money you cant afford to lose, even temporarily.

The market may go up but you are always at risk for unforseen circumstances causing a crash. Something like the President getting Coronavirus and being hospitalized or something absolutely would tank the markets. Would the market recover? Yeah, but in the short term(Short term is 12 months) if you needed that money for a bill and don't have it, you arent magically going to get it back.

I wasn't saying that's a course of action he should have actually taken. It was meant to highlight the gambling nature of the market.

I believe you get it for the Ask price. Youll see an Ask and a Bid price. I believe that Ask is the lowest amount someone is selling it for whereas Bid is the most that someone is buying it for. I could have that backwards though.

So MFA is currently at 2.50. I plan Im putting a Stop at 2.40 and updating accordingly throughout the day. I wholly anticipate a major dip in MFA once the market opens. I am unsure what to do after I sell. Do I buy back in? At what price point? What do you all think?

Well I think MFA was a slamdunk at 30 cents or whatever, even 70 cents. I don't feel confident in it at this level though. I'm not necessarily expecting it to go back to 2.50 regularly. It certainly could but I'm not buying it till it drops pretty significantly again. Like for me it'd need to dip back below $1.

I'm not a stock guru like Chris though so yeah you can probably just ignore me.

Was not a good day trading day since everything was trending downwards hard. I didn't wanna risk it.

I decided to gamble on the stimulus doing something with opening prices come Monday, grabbed a few stocks right before things closed.

$500 of AAL
$500 of EVRI
$500 of NUGT
$500 of ACB (this I don't expect to get any benefits from it since it's Canadian based I just felt like getting it)

Not necessarily gonna stay on any of those for the long haul unless they turn up red on Monday (since long term I expect everything to go back up enough that I should make a small profit at least) but those are my moves for now with my modest amount of money playing around with this.

I read it this morning they were trying to fix it. However, if Trump said he likes the idea of them registering in the United States to receive aid then maybe they won't fix it at all then now.

We are about a week, maybe less, maybe slightly closer to 2 weeks depending, from the number of deaths per day creeping over 1000. The way this is spreading to multiple major cities at once in 2-3 weeks this is going to get ugly and I expect to the markets to reflect that.

Don't think they will tank as I've said I think we just about hit bottom with the last crash, but they might hit that same bottom.

Only thing that could change this is if we have a celebrity or major political figure find their way into the death total.

Yeah basically all of my stocks that are green on Monday I'm immediately cashing back out on. I expect escalating death tolls will hurt the market as will the April 10th deadline being realized to be implausible, so I want to get out as soon as possible. But I expect a small spike with the passing of the stimulus at least.

As far as research - look a little deeper into what companies can do to recover. Like, not every company is going to quickly make it back to what they used to be.

If it doesn't go through they probably avoid bankruptcy. And also don't become the casino company with the biggest US operations by far.

If it does go through they become the biggest operator of casinos in the US (Wynn and LVS operate more foreign resorts). And they may go bankrupt from all the debt they'll take on.
