I don't know why I can't have a worldview where I see a show and find it valueless in comparison to something that actually provided me with some insight about myself and actually enraptured me into a story. This board has always had a problem with someone just being passionate about something. Yes, I could live a disaffected life of cynicism and jaded monotony like so many users, but why should I cater to the whims of a majority? Just as many people here treat comics like complete trash. That's not pretension. That's passion. So, because it would bother me to sink time into a contest to see something I don't value defeat something I do because it had a legitimately large impact on my life, I have to be treated like shit because I communicate that. Like, someone else engaged the conversation with me. I also didn't say that other people can't like or support Sailor Moon. In fact, I clearly made the assumption people will. I have the same problem with, like, Powerpuff Girls and Goku and stuff being in the contest. But why does it matter that I dislike something? I'm nobody special. I don't hold any sway over anyone on this board. I just didn't want to participate because I know I like fringe stuff and the stuff that I find kind of worthless does clearly have more fans here. Source: I've been on this board for several years. So, because I know that I get upset with popularity contests on this board and because this one would actually involve stuff I really care about, I chose not to participate.
