"Don't reply to this person" is not imo the right message because it's just a less direct way of doing exactly what they're doing. I don't respond to put on a show for other people's viewing pleasure, I respond to posts because I feel the discussion is something I'm interested in having for whatever reason. I'm not going to just not use the board for its purpose because someone else isn't interested in what I am. Like the politics containment topics for for several iterations on end without me posting in them, but I still read almost all of them, I just don't respond when nothing makes me think it would be interesting enough to. It's not hard to not reply to something, or to just skim through a discussion. People complain about Corrik, but personally, I respond to him when he says something I think would be interesting to reply to, I read but don't respond if what he's saying isn't all that interesting to me and just skim past discussions he's involved in that I don't give a fuck about. Same with Ulti, same with everyone else. The whole "don't respond" brigade is worse than any of the people they complain about - at least those "bad discussions" usually involve actual thought from at least one participant. I'm just saying the line of pulling stuff out of your ass being acceptable is somewhere between that movie and the Oceans movies. Curious where 8 lies. It's one of the most depressing things to see, and to watch a country tear itself apart is really, truly heart breaking. Not only that, but I get blasted with American politics in social media, TV, movies, music, about every medium I care to enjoy save for Video Games. I'd rather not see it in a place I've called home for so many years which is founded on a love for said video games. I'd like at least one facet of my life to be free of such vitriol and hate. So yeah, seeing those topics makes me feel bad and makes me lose more faith in humanity then I cared to admit. Call me a petty high schooler if you want, but if ignoring someone can honestly improve my mood, I'm going to do it.
