Yeah, the Nurse CE has a chance of dropping from the Orb/Lotus nodes. I got lucky and had one (and only the one so far) drop early on. Think it was one of the light green colored nodes because it was before I started the realm nodes but based on how the Talisman CE was I assume it's a drop in those too.

Darn, I was hoping The Calm might hit more of a DDS feel with you in the SMT sprectrum of music rather than just "more Persona." You're probably right that Apex of the World is the strongest contest-wise FE song I nommed there though I do think Edge of Dawn has a shot at up-ending it despite the obvious shared themes in them. Indomitable Will is just a personal fave that I threw in.

Glad you liked Throw Away Your Mask! I actually think music spoilers is its biggest obstacle to getting into this year's VGMC so perhaps it's a year too early for it.

the backstory of the danganronpa series is utterly ridiculous and i always ignore it for the absurdity it is and focus on the cast's present situation and their interactions/dynamics/cases

to try to figure it out in terms of the verse is just an exercise in insanity tbqhhh >_>

Though yeah, you don't really know that until DR1 lays out for you so in that sense it's the unique experience of the 3 and so that would distinguish it from the future titles.

I'd actually agree that the V3 cast is the most solid overall but I still have DR2 as my favorite. The dynamic Nagito added to it was just too good for me. (I also have Nagito as my favorite character in the series but I think you can evaluate how he influences things separate from his character itself. I happen to like both a lot but I could definitely see/respect how one might like one but not the other. Of course if you like neither I can see how DR2 wouldn't measure up to V3 at all.)

And 2-5 is still the best case in the series IMO. Though V3 brings some great ones to the table as well.

DR1 as the best is definitely a take that would always leave me befuddled. 2 and V3 I can both absolutely see. But 1? I just can't visualize it personally!

Yeah, the main cast being absolutely incredible is why my confidence level is so high here. That and the humor is just too good. I was constantly laughing during it and I'm usually stone-faced when watching stuff even during humor bits.

I think you may have had this recommended to you before, but even if you have, I'm still coming in hot with a flash anime recommendation at the confidence level of Steins;Gate if not higher - Kaguya-sama: Love is War.

It's been on my radar for a while because I had heard nothing but good things about it even though romantic comedies aren't really in my usual wheelhouse of shows I watch but I finally decided to start it last night and uh... it kinda turned into a bit of a binge watch that I couldn't stop. Amazing show and I really think you'd enjoy it!

It's 12 episodes and I watched it on Crunchyroll, not sure if it's available elsewhere. The only possible downside for you is no dub (that I know of). I know a Season 2 was announced a few days ago but I have to double-check when it's planned because this is DAY ONE for me now.

TLJ Luke obviously played KotOR II during the timeskip and took its commentary to heart. best kotor game stays winning.

But yeah, TLJ was great! surprise darth yoda burning down the jedi temple. The Rey/Kylo/Snoke Throne Room scenes (both with Snoke alive and the the fight after) were excellent. As was Force Illusion Luke trolling Kylo at the end.

I guess the closest thing I may have had to a criticism was the SERIOUS BUSINESS of the Rey/Finn ship taking some heavy incoming fire from both sides.

I think it depends on which side of Lysithea you see. There's the one in supports like Felix which yeah not that great. But then there's the more serious ones like Hanneman, Linhardt, or Edelgard (obviously this one you wouldn't have access to) where she's a lot better.

As for Lorenz, eh, maybe. Like I said, I only really saw him through the lens of the Black Eagles (and Byleth supports) so I'm sure there's plenty more I'd see on Golden Deer.

My lists don't have too much nostalgia. Heck, I think this decade would actually dominate pretty strong in the top level. My problem is that it's just some amorphous blob where I can swing games up or down like 4 spots either way even in the Top 10.

I'd be having second doubts about the order in the middle of the write-up, let alone actually posting or the next day lol.

I have retooled my Dark Souls II anime plan to some success by obtaining a double of my main hand weapon for my offhand instead of using the somewhat inferior one I had on hand. It now has its niche in certain situations.

Unfortunately, I am now stuck on a boss who has out-anime'd me. He also dual wields and then halfway through the fight he sets his main sword on fire with fire and DARKNESS by holding it up to the sky. that's too anime. i can't compete with that! i don't have the magic stats or consumables to reliably keep up those enchants!

Edit: so naturally i beat him the very next time after this post (i probably tried about 30 times prior) almost effortlessly. Don't think I took any damage on the fire sword part when previously that's the part where he'd always get me.

dark souls ii with the worst tease

after a long time i could finally properly dual wield katanas and i was ready to go full anime on bosses/enemies where i wasn't relying on using a shield but i think it's actually more efficient for me to just wield my main sword with 2 hands.

oh well. that's still a bleach power-up so perhaps it is even more anime but well... that's what i've been doing the whole time so it's boring >_>

The most impressive thing about Xenosaga Episode III is that it had begun to convince me this might not have a trainwreck of an ending, and then the ending was so bad that it ensured I would never attempt to replay them ever again

You can get the coat from the old man though, although I know, I know, technically that requires cooking also.

I don't think so, but I don't remember.

Off the top of my head you either get the coat early by cooking or you use cooking directly for cold resistance (and get the coat at the top). Being BOTW I wouldn't be surprised if you could brute force it somehow or find some other crazy solution but those are the two semi-intended options I believe.

I know. When I see 6/10 of that list is one series I just laugh because it's so obscene looking. It's what I think though!

also it wouldn't look that bad if sky had gotten timely localizations. the entire sky trilogy was originally released in the 2000s it just took forever for them to come over!

It's also a very fluid list, you could have me talk games on that list up or down like 4 places all over. Ar nosurge could be #2 depending on when you asked me.
