that game was a microcosm of our entire season as we sucked most of the game and then turned it on late

Just watched the Mob Psycho 100 OVA, so I'm all done with the show (unless there's a third season anyway). Fun little episode and a really enjoyable anime overall. Definitely something I'd be interested in watching again sometime.

so I was randomly browsing Netflix for something to watch and I decided to check out the first episode of Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated

as a modernized satire of the original cartoon it's pretty solid so if you grew up watching Scooby-Doo cartoons as I did it might be worth your while!

I have retooled my Dark Souls II anime plan to some success by obtaining a double of my main hand weapon for my offhand instead of using the somewhat inferior one I had on hand. It now has its niche in certain situations.

Unfortunately, I am now stuck on a boss who has out-anime'd me. He also dual wields and then halfway through the fight he sets his main sword on fire with fire and DARKNESS by holding it up to the sky. that's too anime. i can't compete with that! i don't have the magic stats or consumables to reliably keep up those enchants!

Edit: so naturally i beat him the very next time after this post (i probably tried about 30 times prior) almost effortlessly. Don't think I took any damage on the fire sword part when previously that's the part where he'd always get me.

I've been playing a decent amount of FF XIV and am up to level 24. Thoughts so far:

1. Definitely not enjoying it as much as WoW; we'll see if this changes!
2. I don't understand the choice to make noncombat jobs their own classes with dedicated equipment you have to switch to
3. Graphics are good and it's nice to see references to other FF games

I think this was mostly to give a world of additional content to people who don't play FFXIV for comabt and stuff. unbelieveably, there's a lot of people who only play ffxiv to rp. and erp. but we don't talk about the later.

imo the strength of FFXIV is in the BOSS FIGHTS, but you don't really get to those until 50.

I'm at level 52 Monk/51 Paladin, doing ARR level 50 quests. Just beat Garuda Extreme and it was so much fun. After a few wipes, finally getting the mechanics down and rushing to burn the last bit of a boss is an awesome feeling. Also Crystal Tower beated but you get carried too hard there so it wasn't that fun.

Watched Rogue One with my fiancee tonight. Pretty sure this was the first time I'd seen it since watching it in the theater. Final act of the movie is still fantastic. I forgot how great it was to see Darth Vader open up a can of Dark Side on the rebels at the very end.

I'm okay with RE2 showing up over and over again. It increases the amount of RE2 fatigue. By the time the overall GotY poll begins, voters will be looking for something new to win. Something like the plucky underdog Fire Emblem Three Houses.

A few fights with mechanics, but so far nothing important that I couldn't figure out on the spot. Presumably that will change at some point!

I was surprised that you actually had to do the first three dungeons to continue the main quest line; they're all optional in WoW!

I think they probably should be at this point, they're super dated. a lot of them are relics of 1.0, which literally got retconned away by blowing up the entire world!
