For propaganda in Russia.

Also propaganda for the fascists and tankies outside of Russia.

It's hilarious how the tankies claim to be leftists and then simp for far-right regimes and repeat the talking points of Trumpers like Tucker Carlson and Candice Owens on Ukraine. Truly the most pathetic alliance. Like when the Soviets allied with the Nazis to invade Poland. Tankies love defending that too.

For better or worse Bravely Default has taken up the role of traditional crystals, jobs, and turn based FF game. That said FFVIIR was an exciting blend of action and turn based, and I hope we see more of that.

I find I actually find action RPGs the most boring. You tend to lose the skill of straight action games and the strategy of turn based, and it often devolves into just mashing attack. That said many turn based RPGs have extremely shallow systems that often devolve into just picking attack and healing as needed. But stuff like SMT and even DQ is great at providing you a lot of strategy in battles.

This is correct. It is actual an example of social democracy. A lot of Americans, including Bernie Sanders, conflate social democracy with democratic socialism. I've noticed in general there is a strong effort among Americans to divorce the word socialism from its association with worker control of the means of production.

I don't know they both lost their generations, so I don't get the point of comparing across generations.

The Dreamcast suffered from a terribly unergonomic controller, glitchy games, a lack of decent exclusives which were propped up as great games by advertisers and leaned on existing beloved properties thus creating mass confusion, and ultimately.... just ended up looking a worse version of the PSX with SLIGHTLY better graphics. It wasn't even a trade-off. I think most people regarded it as a knockoff. At least the N64 had its own identity.

Why are you comparing the Dreamcast here and not the Saturn?

Seems like something they will eventually crack down on it it's as widespread as you say

If you look up rule of law rankings by country China usually ranks near the bottom. There are a lot of laws that are poorly, arbitrarily, or just not enforced. It's not the police state people imagine in most respects. There are a small subset of crimes they take seriously (usually related to things that could be a threat to the government), and using a VPN and/or importing games isn't one of them. It's not uncommon to find stores blatantly selling games not approved for sale out in the open.

For online games following Chinese regulations this is true (3 hours a week, with facial recognition to confirm the child isn't using someone else's account). The reality, and this far predates the new rules, is most gamers in China don't use Chinese game services. They use a VPN to connect to international Steam, PSN, Nintendo eShop, etc. And play unrestricted international games. You probably play online games with Chinese gamers. That's not possible on actual released in China according to regulation games. They aren't allowed on international servers.

I haven't been back to China since after the pandemic, but there was definitely still little to no barriers during the pandemic. My wife and her parents were stuck in Wuhan longer than me because they couldn't take an evacuation flight. They didn't return to Japan for months (and actually now you cannot return to Japan at all if you are overseas). But my wife got Animal Crossing (not released in China), and played FFXIV on Japanese servers no problem using a VPN during that time. It's extremely widespread.

Dragon Quest Monsters might have began in 98 but its based on elements of gameplay in earlier Dragon Quest games. Which predate Pokemon . Apparently in Dragon Quest 5 specifically, you can catch and train monsters . Dragon Quest 5 released in Japan in 1992

In V a small subset of monsters can join your party. VI has a specific class that can catch a small subset of monsters (though this was changed to just recruiting them in the DS remake). But either way Megami Tensei allowed you to get the vast majority of enemies in the game to become your ally either through negotiation or fusion. Fusion was there from the start which makes the lack of breeding in the first Pokemon rather strange (DQM also had breeding from the start).

People are in it to make money, but the technology works just fine without baby of the speculation. There are literally stable coins pegged at being worth $1 all the time, there are coins to that require no mining of wasted electricity. All the speculation and money making off mining is pointless.

But I also made a lot of money off crypto, so I guess I am somewhat of a hypocrite.

Basically because different cultures also celebrate it, calling it Chinese New Year can be considered offensive. Though it's important to note the dates may not be the same between different cultures.

The term Chinese New Year isn't used in Japanese or Chinese, so I only see this on English social media sites.
