Technically she appeared in the pilot episode, but the pilot episode has basically nothing to do with the animated show that eventually got released. However, it does have kitty pride... even her dragon familiar.

Cloud is worse at everything compared to everyone else. What are you talking about? Tifa is the best melee, Aerith is the best magic attacker/healer and Barret is a better tank and ranged. He's the jack of all trades master of none character.

The trade-off is he has the most flexibility in how you build him which is useful since the game regularly rotates out party members you can play with. Don't have barrett? Make him a tank. Don't have tifa? Make him dps. Don't have aerith? Throw all the healing stuff on him.

But his counter stance is where he really shines and completely trivializes a couple of otherwise very difficult battles once you have it, in a way that no other character would have been able to do.

675 feels kind of low for claiming you have good credit. It's not awful, but it's sort of like starting a club for people with good grades and allowing anybody with a c+ or above in.

Cloud's counter hit abilities are mostly useful in boss battles where you don't have Barrett and/or the rest of the party. When Barrett is around drawing aggro cloud's main job is building stagger.

I'm sure people said the same thing about Nintendo before Iwata died.

Being a tank is about drawing aggro and soaking damage. Nothing about him being ranged to prevents him from doing that. It just lets him poke and piss off enemies across the greater part of the battlefield.

And by endgame I would describe cloud as DPS with an emphasis on stagger and counterhit.

Just wait until people read the article and realize that one of the co-sponsors is AOC. If you thought Texans were going to freak out hearing that the federal government is introducing a bill to force their grid onto the national one, just wait until they hear that AOC is one of the people pushing it.

If you're talking about the remake, he's mostly a tank. Focus on buffing his defense, throw some defensive spells on him from another character, and then allow him to provoke the enemy and soak up damage.

That's a little bit like asking why firefighters aren't fully decked out in their firefighting gear when they're at home having a beer. It's a uniform, not their casual day clothes.

I feel like you guys are purposely acting like you dunno about the 90s cartoon show.

I can kind of see where people feel like things are off. It matches the original style, but there is a bright crispness to it that I think starts to bridge that gap between classic animation and newgrounds short. It almost looks like one of those bad HD remasters where they digitally sharpen old frames and it washes out some of the detail.

There's no way in hell that the Russian government would agree to a long form one-on-one interview with an actual western journalist. They flat out said in response to the interview that they receive requests they turn down all the time. They were looking for someone who would throw out softballs and sit there quietly, and by the time things started rolling I'm sure Carlson wasn't interested in ending up in some gulag so he metaphorically had a gun to his head anyway.

The most important thing to remember here is what the Russians have already done in areas they've occupied. If the entirety of Ukraine falls under the Russians, the whole country will look like what you saw in the aftermath of Bucha. They invaded with mobile crematoria for the purpose of killing people and disposing of the bodies, and that was before the Ukrainians made the entire Russian army look like a fucking joke. Ukrainians will be murdered by the train load if Russia wins here.

That also brings up the challenge of what to do even if Russia is forced to withdraw. There are a lot of new homeowners in russian-controlled parts of Ukraine and a lot of property that has since been forcefully reallocated to people who may or may not still be alive. Then you have the fact that for the entire duration of this war some areas have been exclusively teaching children Russian history and Russian language and requiring the use of Russian currency. It's going to take a while to deprogram these regions and get everything back into a central currency. And much like Russia has done in every other country, during that entire period they will be screaming and screeching about how ethnic Russians are being mistreated while they actively push money and weapons into that area to maintain instability for as long as possible.

At the very least, Russia wouldn't be giving back all the territory they took. Which would make it an exact copy of the winter war against finland. Or what they did in Georgia in 2008. Or Crimea in 2014.

Russia's general MO seems to be starting a war and then just throwing an infinite amount of trash resources into a meat grinder until the other country just can't tolerate it anymore and gives up some small portion of their territory.

A lot of people on CE would rather take a completely fictional fantasy world built on lies that lets them have what they want. Actually forcing somebody to live in reality is a terribly cruel punishment to them, that's why they like to meme that the main character was a villain.

Roy and Pam just weren't a good fit, and independent of Jim's actions those two were never going to work permanently. It's partially why both of them ended up being way happier in the long run with other people.

But I do agree with others that some of Jim's actions in the later seasons, especially things like buying a house without consulting his wife, comes off as even worse than Roy not really listening to Pam's interests.

Let Mr Beast walk on the red carpet. He's done way more with his money to help others than most who're going to walk down that same carpet.

For context, a good anime usually adapts 3-4 chapters per episode. Early One piece ran at that pace. One piece has been doing 1 chapter or less per episode for like a decade now.

And that's not because of a ton of filler episodes. Everything is just streeeeeetched out.

Fair enough then, not as direct of an inspiration as they claim but still laying the ground works. I still think the big mistake here is them using the design look of Pokmon either way much like Craftopia uses the design works of BotW.

And really that should go and show you that it probably wouldnt have sold as much is not for that connection.

Let's just all agree that we wish the best for Palworld and hope it gets regular updates and in a couple of years has grown into its own thriving game with unique mechanics and systems that looks less and less like "pokemon with guns" and more like how Digimon grew into its own unique property. I don't think there's anything controversial about ending this whole debate with hope for the future.

No because Digimon is its own thing thats not based on Pokmon. Its literally Tamagotchi for boys. Even its games and media is formatted so differently from character design and plots.

Well, contrary to popular belief, Digimon actually didn't come first; many believe that the Tamagotchi-like toys that launched the Digimon came first, but they actually hit stores about a year after the first Pokmon games, Red and Green, came out. This is to say that, since Pokmon came first, Digimon was the one that "copied" the "Mon" suffix.

Digimon became "its own thing" because it was given time to develop into one. Just like palworld.

And yet that doesnt negate my point. Taking inspirations of things is always going to be present in media for sure. However the issue at hand is that when it comes to inspiration of ideas and concepts is on one hand a lot of people end up making their own things here over time, crafting their own worlds.

Palworld has an identity issue to say the least because of how blatant that inspiration is in that case. Coupled with the whole guns thing and survival crafting and while you can have a fun game for sure you have a weird clash of different things into one pile.

Out of curiosity, do you have this same opinion about Digimon?

Hell, take it a step further: a good chunk of pokemon designs are either real animals or things like ice cream cones. Some of them are less different than their real world counterpart than Palworld designs are from their pokemon equivalent. And I don't think anyone would argue that pokemon literally invented the concept of "fake animals that looks like real world ones."

They could have also used something like moss, or plant life, or small creatures scrambling up the rock face. Yellow paint works in industrial settings where you can show a bucket that's tipped over, but as you said you can absolutely have a visual indicator in the environment that works within the context of the environment without having to rely on yellow paint.

To be fair, aren't the vast majority of those QTE events just hidden load times? Same with crawl spaces, forced walking segments, etc. For all we know the real purpose of that climb isn't to engage the player in feeling like they're navigating the wild, but simply to give the game time to load the assets at the top of said climb before the player gets there.

I'm not sure how you can call the cover soulless, especially the music video, unless you were completely unaware of the backstory behind the cover.

Edit: the tldr in case somebody doesn't want to read that link is that the music video was filmed in the derelict and abandoned Johnny Cash museum which also happened to be his childhood home, and cash himself was dying when they filmed it, as was his wife who only died a couple months after filming. The man is literally sitting in the abandoned remains of his legacy knowing that none of it will help him and it adds such overwhelming depth to the song and the lyrics in the context of those scenes.

Is it like Monster Hunter because you fight giant creatures that require careful positioning and reading their moves in order to get upgrade parts? Or is it like Monster Hunter because you're doing the same missions a million times in a row to scrounge up enough parts to upgrade your weapons so that you can do the same thing in the next stage?

The worst part about Starfield totally cratering is that rather than take this as a massive lesson learned, I'd be worried that instead they're fast tracking elder scrolls 6 development so they can get another big title out sooner to help with their stock price.

It'll be more interesting to see what happens in like, a few months. When the hype completely moves on to other things and there's reason to stop caring. Like after the hype died out on stuff like Hogwarts Legacy.

I don't see it ending up any different than games like the forest, or valheim, or even ark. If the developers do like they did with the last game and provide a steady stream of updates for years than the game will just settle into a sweet spot with a moderately sized player base that occasionally gets a bunch of new players when there's a big holiday sale and good word of mouth.
