I'm sure people said the same thing about Nintendo before Iwata died.

I'm kinda surprised they never bothered going directly to Valve or something, it would be so awesome to have Nintendo games come out on PC and be Deck verified

He is a board member and practically founding father of modern Nintendo. Of course he has a say, but just not the final say.

He's probably not even stopping it. I don't think anyone even asks him if they want to release games on PC. That shit probably gets stopped way before it gets to him.

As Sony already releases newer games on PC after a few years of their PlayStation release, Nintendo is the only 1 of the "Big 3" who doesn't do this.

As games like Bayonetta 2/3 and Astral Chain would benefit greatly from better hardware to achieve stable 60+ frame rates (they are action games, this should be a given) and games like BOTW have been shown to look absolutely gorgeous in a 4K setting (thanks to emulation for showing this potential) vs just great in the highest resolution available on the Switch, it is a shame that Nintendo doesn't...
A: Release better hardware to achieve this on Nintendo systems.
B: Make a PC port and allow the consumer to be responsible for building a rig capable of bringing out the game's full potential.

Of course, as neither A nor B is being done right now, people who want the games to play the best are in a tough spot. Best solution atm is to buy the games to support the developer and emulate said games to bring out their full potential.

Of course, despite being legal (you own the games, so this isn't piracy), it is still a lot of hoops to jump through, and some people aren't comfortable with emulation period. Also, emulation isn't perfect, so there is that issue as well...and some games are locked at 30 fps and require mods to get around this issue, with no way around the issue for some games (Astral Chain).

As Nintendo doesn't seem to want to sell competent spec'ed game console since the days of the Gamecube and wants to have at least a hybrid handheld option (what the Switch does), the best solution appears to be to allow PC ports x amount of time after a release on the main Nintendo console.

Of course, at this point in time, Nintendo is opposed to that idea, and many games struggle with even a stable 30 fps because of it... Hopefully things change for the better. Otherwise, emulation remains the best solution to get around hardware limitations causing many games to run suboptimally. Just buy the games so it isn't piracy...

This. Its pretty ridiculous, as if Nintendo started putting their games on PC theyd basically print billions overnight.

It won't happen as long as people keep buying Nintendo consoles. They like having their games on their platforms where they get all the revenue instead of having to give a cut to Valve or whoever.

They're never gonna put their games on Steam. If they came to PC at all it would be as a discrete store. Probably something like Uplay.

Nintendo would only have their games go to PC if they had their own store. They would never split revenue with valve or epic. With the catalogue Nintendo has it is doable.

Yeah. I don't think they have any interest in PC but if they did it would be their own store.

Then the people complaining that Nintendo should put their games on PC can move on to complaining that Nintendo never does sales / price drops on their biggest games.

They barely do sales and price drops on any games period. Ive wishlisted a bunch on Deku Deals and if I ever get a notification the sale is pretty pitiful.

As long as the store/launcher isn't a buggy mess, that solution would work for me.

The former grievance is more legitimate than the latter. If the price doesn't drop, consider selling the game when you are done with it. You won't lose much that way. Also has to deal with Ninty's thought process that sales down the line make people more hesitant to buy games on release.
