Nothing what I said is revisionist history. Color quality, depth of Blackness, how many back lights are there to make sure the colors are even, refresh rate which matters if you're playing any sort of twitch gaming like a fighter, number of HDMI ports and whether those are 1.0 or 2.1 ports, quality of parts and as a by-product estimated number of hours before it breaks, additional features like embedded browsing, some other things like weight or size of border around the TV itself, and probably some other things I'm not remembering.

Edit: when I said refresh rate what I actually meant was input latency but both are important.

Gaming should follow the movie industry and start hyping up their game 6 months before release. There's 0 reason why we need to know about a game 3 years before release.

I think a key difference is how the gaming industry has built itself up as an event-based one.

Take away the pressure of having to bring maximum hype to an event like E3 or Pax and I think you would see less of an emphasis on having trailers for games that are years away.

The exception being on years with a new console launch, where developers are still going to be incentivized to show off stuff that might be years away to push consoles.

For those not following, China is trying to force through a new law that would allow them to have a police presence in Hong Kong and arrest protesters in order to prevent anyone from ever speaking out against them again.

The "draft decision" - as it is known before approval by China's National People's Congress - includes an article that says Hong Kong "must improve" national security.

It adds: "When needed, relevant national security organs of the Central People's Government will set up agencies in Hong Kong to fulfil relevant duties to safeguard national security in accordance with the law."

The Chinese government argues the law is necessary to "prevent, stop and punish" protests such as those that rocked Hong Kong last year. They were sparked by a bill that would have allowed extraditions to mainland China.

You guys know why a GPS watch and a phone app (Strava) wouldn't match in terms of distance? Which should I trust

My first time, they match, but as time goes on, my GPS watch just lags behind the app in terms of distance seen. My watch will say 6.7 miles while Strava does 7 miles

Depending on where you're walking, GPS drift can cause minor shifts in position that probably get recorded as movement. Over 7 miles, those little shifts at up.

Like, if you go inside your house, bring up maps, and zoom in you can actually watch the icon bounce around even though you're perfectly stationary.

Your watch probably has a filter that cleans up the noisy data to produce a more accurate distance. Or it uses a combination of GPS and IMU. Your phone app is probably just using raw position and so that's why you're seeing a difference in distance.

Edit: the easiest way to test which is right would be to walk a couple miles next to a road and then drive that path with your trip meter reset. Whichever one is closer to your car should be the right measurement.

I think the most you'll find are comedians that tell jokes that would be considered conservative. People like Bill Burr, Daniel Tosh, Ricky Gervais, Ron White, etc.

"Conservative comedy" has always been a bit of a weird label because most people don't count conservative jokes from comedians like those above. I think progressives look at this conflict while ignoring all religious aspects of it. So they see a group suddenly coming into a region and taking it over while forcing the people were there to live in designated areas, while currently trying to take over part of that area. And any response by the oppressed group is of course justified.

The below isn't necessarily directed at you, but I do feel it needs to be posted given your summary of the conflict:
I don't know how many times I need to point out that Jews were already living in the region and that Israel was formed with both League of Nations AND UN approval based on territories formed from the collapse of the Ottoman empire. Once again, the following countries were formed after the collapse of the Ottomans post WW1: Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Turkey.

Somehow ALL those other countries formed from the collapse of the Ottoman Empire are completely legitimate entities, yet only Israel is apparently "taking the land over" when it was formed.

Literally the day after Israel was formed many of these countries tried to wipe them out for the crime of existing, only a few years after the end of WW2. There was no Netenyahu. There was no "Occupied West Bank." Nobody had been moved from their homes. There's literally no excuse other than a massive amount of legitimate antisemitism from groups and individuals that literally cheered on Hitler for doing God's work.

You're completely right on the religious undertones being the primary driver in the conflict and adding immense complexity to the issue, but this weird notion that there weren't already Jews in the area and that the entire country was formed by "pushing out muslims" has never been based in reality.
