I'm Maybe a third of the way in... at the part where you escaped into the woods with Ellie. People praise this game so much but it's been a chore to play. Gunplay is clunky, game is absurdly stingy with ammo, movement is slow, and rattlers do a bullshit one hit kill. Story is neat but rest of game isn't fun at all so far.

Glitchy as hell, runs like absolutely dogshit, the animations are awful and the menu is a nightmare to navigate with keyboard and mouse. And you can even use k+m at all while a controller is connected. If this is the game after a year and a half, I cant imagine what it must have been like on release.

Edit: And quest tracking is completely broken in multiplayer.

It's like any RPG these days - enemies drop weapons and armor, you can find unique weapons and armor in certain set locations, sometimes the Bounty Hunters drop unique (or at least rare) loot, and there are certain armor sets you can find that unlock special perks when you wear multiple pieces.

Higher level gear = stronger by default, but if you really like a weapon (maybe it sets people on fire) then you can also pay resources to upgrade it to your current level.

I think some builds are more viable than others, but you can technically try them all out on one character so it's not a big deal.

The problem with this is that the gameplay doesnt get more complex in any meaningful way. Sure in any rpg, you get strong as enemies get stronger, but there's usually new mechanics and spells being introduced as the game goes on to keep things fresh and make you feel stronger. In odyssey, yeah there are new moves but its very superficial and doesnt meaningfully change the gameplay.

So Eddie had pretty valid points early on. The way this started, Thor had been training to attempt the record at World's Strongest Man. When that got canceled due to covid, thor was like "ive been training for it, I'm still gonna do it at home" and Eddie called out that it wasnt going to be in officially sanctioned conditions. But then as it gained attention, it became more official with Magnus being sent to judge, Rogue sponsoring, ESPN broadcasting it, and people there to calibrate the weights.

I liked it a lot. Game is gorgeous and well acted, some side quests are very well written and there's a ton of different systems to sink into. I loved ship combat and hunting cult members for example.

Biggest drawback though is how they handle leveling. Its a very sharp thing in this game, you get destroyed by enemies ~3 levels higher than you and can barely scratch them. Feels like numbers for numbers sake, doesnt actually feel like you get stronger by leveling. Hoping they fix that for Vikings.

Btw, play as Kassandra. Much better acted and she's a fox.

I've tried 3 times to get into it. So far I'm slightly past where you meet Ellie. Story is interesting but gameplay just isn't doing it for me. I hate the forced stealth and that you can kill an enemy with seemingly endless ammo but they'll only drop one measly bullet if you're lucky.

Should I stick with it?

It got a lot of criticism for the SJWism, cringe dialogue, and terrible writing. Yes, all of that is indeed the case.

But it sucks from a gameplay standpoint too. Wolfenstein 2 at least had amazing gunplay in the rare parts you were actually in a shootout and not in a submarine with a bunch of stereotypes but Youngblood added forced RPG elements that ruin the gameplay. Leveling up for new abilities and buying weapon upgrades is great, but giving enemies levels too and making some unkillable if you aren't a high enough level is just poor design. Gonna uninstall this game now.

An impeachment absolutely should not be a partisan thing. If half the country disagrees that the alleged offense even counts as wrongdoing, something is seriously wrong with the case. No other impeachment in history was this partisan.

That said, now that Trump is cleared for asking for the investigation, I absolutely hope they go right back to investigating Biden and take it all the way. It's fucking absurd that Dems are more worked up about Trump investigating wrongdoing than the are about the actual alleged wrongdoing.

It's like Clinton emails all over again: massive dump of emails showing Clinton's systematic corruption, interference in the primaries, quid pro quo for contributors, illegal dealings in office. How do the dems respond? "This is unacceptable, we have to find out who was responsible for bringing this to public knowledge". And they proceed to continue to operate business as usual buy taking a massive bribe to let Bloomberg into the debates.

This shit is why Trump is gonna win a second term.

That being said, I have seen Sanders supporters who have criticized the campaign's decision to highlight Rogan's endorsement. There are a lot of people who feel feel prioritizing the likes of Rogan and his viewers will inevitably come at the expense of those in the marginalized communities (Muslims, trans people) that he has routinely targeted. But I wouldn't say that's a unanimously held view, or even the majority of what I've seen.

Regardless of if I agree about your assessment of him, the kind of people that care about the stuff (the young social Justice crowd) don't actually vote in primaries. I'd argue starting to court Trump folders for the general is much more important.
