No it's not. The topic is about why a very small minority of voters voted for Trump. We already know why most people voted for Trump, and it was because of party loyalty.

do you not understand studies like this or are you always this disingenuous? It's not because of party. There's nothing about causation. It's all predictive. Even the author's conclusions in the study say as much:

Identifying as Republican, not surprisingly, was strongly predictive of Trump support.

Which isn't surprising in the least bit but doesn't explain why they would be loyal to that particular party or find Trump appealing.

Nothing can prove what caused it, because ultimately all we have is predictive factors. But the article does outright say that party loyalty is overwhelmingly the most common predictive factor.

Kind of weird that you pointed this out to me rather than the people saying it's because they're racist tho.

It was said best here. "If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you."

And that is what a lot of Trump supporters think. They is why when the Coal mind closes. The government forgot about them. When the person is hood loses his job. Oh he is just lazy.

That's not cherrypicking. It's literally the conclusion of the entire thing. The cherrypicking is actually the rest of the article where it tries to dwell on the potential alternative predictive factors for the outliers. Shut the fuck up.

it most certainly is, considering the bit you're referencing to wasn't even a complete sentence, and the remainder of that sentence points out that the study specifically deals with people where party loyalty wasn't a primary predictor.

If say Jeb or any of those other Republican candidates had won the Repulican nomination instead of Trump I probably wouldn't have voted for anybody. Would have stayed out of it because I'm Independent and Hillary was awful whereas previously I voted for Obama. Like I said, she was far from Obama 2.0 and that's kind what she and the DNC lazily hoped people would believe her to be, but that shit doesn't win elections.

Oh my goodness!!! The reason Trump won is very simple. People were 1). Tired of being lied to by politicians and felt Trump was an outsider (even if he lied as well). 2). People (I believe especially middle aged and older adults) were tired of liberal ideas such as the "agree with me or your an idiot/dangerous" technique that democrats were running. Getting called deplorables did not help this sentiment. The shaming tactics of the left really hurt the left this time around. 3). Clinton was a terrible candidate...just absolutely atrocious and before all the millenials come in...no the old socialist would not have won either. 4). The traditionally loud mouthed young people the democrats relied on...didn't show up in big enough numbers...like always. Young people always underachieve at the polls and it really hurt the democrats.

1). It's that kind of candid talk that got people to support him. He shined a light on the corruption of politicians. And people don't hear and remember everything...which Trump used advantageously to create his own narrative.

2). It's that exact kind of talk that gets on peoples nerves. People have opinions that differ from your own...strong beliefs, but they are disregarded as just crazy. Liberals do not actually speak in facts they just tell you your an idiot and that does not work for a lot of people.

3). Obviously not better or she would have won.

4). Yes the electoral college is there so that New York and California don't decide the election. She won those states by great margins which explains her popular vote win.
