Yeah, I generally only play AE when playing online, but I don't have internet access over the summer. UMvC3's more fun against the computer because the AI seems genuinely harder, whereas AE's AI is just either bulls*** or extremely easy. <_<

The stick also hooks up to the PC, so I've also been playing the Touhou fighting games, GGXX, and Melty Blood as well. So fun!

...oh yeah, I have Blazblue and Tekken too

I'm already back up to how good I was before with Captain America (which is pretty s***ty since the only combo I regularly use is his standard one that ends with the shield super if in corner, but eh >_>), I'm adapting pretty quickly to Doom but I keep messing up my tilts, and Taskmaster's definitely gonna take some work for me to get used to the timing of cancelling his arrows into supers but eh. The only character I'm really having problems with is Frank; I'm having consistency problems with his basic camera OTG into super. L - M - H on the first row and A2 - A1 - S on the second makes feels so natural. My main team's Cap/someone/Doom, btw.

but AE is boggling my mind oh god why is throwing and focus attacking so hard now ;_; that's definitely gonna take a lot more work. All I managed yesterday was getting down some weird inputs like Akuma's ultra/supers. I can finally FADC, though; I couldn't do that for s*** on a controller.

also, you need to start the atelier games with Mana Khemia or one of the ones with actually good gameplay imo, half the atelier games have s***ty battle systems

which is fine if you really get into the excellent alchemy system, but you need a good battle system to really appreciate it at first

i tried just using my thumb and index finger but it was pretty damn hard to do anything effectly and ended up also my middle finger, just kinda gripping the entire thing

is there any specific way i should hold it or should i just do whatever works? i imagine getting into a bad habit of holding it wrong would bite me in the ass when i get better internet in a few months and start playing AE online again

I played FFXI on dialup for the first 2 months ... then forced my parents to get cable internet

i played it for two months period before the goddamn XP loss on death made me ragequit

probably didn't help that i was a white mage either

I played Priston Tale and Ragnarok with Dial up

but then again that was in high school. so around 8 years ago?

i have no idea what priston tale is

oh and i tried RO on better internet a while back and it didn't interest me for long either

impossible to get better internet at this house i mean, and if i was going to a friend's house I wouldn't be playing mmo's, I'd be playing ps3 games or something <_<;

I played WoW for months at my aunt's house and it was waaay more trouble than it was worth because oh my god all the family drama

i probably make this topic twice a year but 'oh well'

common answers: maplestory (hilarious with the lag that makes me look like I'm hacking but grew bored of it multiple times), runescape (won't run on the laptop I'm playing on, wtf), puzzle pirates (maybe, but I suck at all the puzzles now probably), get better internet (impossible)

initial downloading times aren't that big a deal since I can just make plans to go to a friend's house for the download, but i want an online game i can just play spontaneously

i usually play dofus or tlk but tlk requires a group of us for maximum hilarity and i've played dofus to death

Also, if you like dubs, I'd strongly recommend you watch that. It's basically Kirk Thornton being Kirk Thornton and to me, everything sounded a lot more natural.
But thats only if you prefer dubs. Sub should still be fine, but it does have a good dub is all I'm saying =). It makes the two people who Brandon works for in the first few episodes become a tad more likeable as well.

First three episodes I kept switching back and forth, but I just like the subs more. Plus oh god who was that playing the black kid in the first few episodes because that caused me to laugh my ass off

Granted, I played the game first, but yeah, unless you have never heard of the game or seen the box, it's not really a spoilery problem. Plus spoilers, pssh, I can handle spoilers.

I've specifically avoided the game because I've heard both the game and anime were good, and I like going into things blind! I actually didn't see this coming for sure early on, though there was plenty of foreshadowing that made me suspicious.

I guess I'll watch it when I get off work because I'm pretty sure I know what it entails now. >_>
