i still like anime as much as i always have, but my interests are more specific these days, i guess. there's still plenty of old shit for me to finish even if the current season sucks

there's good isekai out there but if you dislike the common tropes you're gonna have to delve into manga or webnovels/light novels, unfortunately. isekai is """new""" enough (for anime) that mostly only the super popular stuff gets adapted, which are usually super derivative on each other (and especially derivative of SAO).

I'm still holding out that weird but really good shit gets adapted, like that vending machine isekai. anime's recently started tipping its toes in the villainess/noble lady genres which is a step in the right direction considering even when they're isekai they trend towards being of way higher quality

first batch of xenoblade 3 icons for switch profiles dropped today and i gobbled them all up

orguss got thrown onto crunchyroll so i'm probably watching that next

been reading the level 2 cheat isekai and MAN this guy spends like half the volume recapping previous events, every single volume. he's even recapping stuff during the epilogue sometimes

this is like the anti-smartphone, which constantly introduces new characters, namedrops old characters, and doesn't recap shit

the 60 and 70 superbosses had stupid gimmicks, and the 80 one just demolished me, so i probably won't go for 100% for a while

for my final thoughts on the DLC, it's an absolute banger of a conclusion to the series. but if you didn't like XC3, you won't like the DLC either. it answers series questions, but the themes are very much just 3

I just have aoe Target Lock on Shulk but invest more into Nikol so he can just relieve the pressure sometimes, rather than outright try to main tank. Everyone sucks compared to Rex though. You can boil efficient combat down to "everyone else just exists while Rex takes aggro and dies every 15 seconds", and to Shulk's benefit, he can at least taunt off of Rex's massive aggro to ensure he lives a little longer each time.

Unfortunately probably less useful than it'd be in the base game because you still have to build up to a launch, burst, or blast via a Unity Combo, and launching is so incredibly easy in this game to begin with. Still really funny to see.

I'm like 5 hours in. It's really good. They added so much QoL stuff in, I wish they'd backport some back into the main game.

Calamity mod for Terraria is basically just bigger and better Terrarria, with all roles feeling viable and eventually OP against OP bosses, would absolutely recommend. (also use at minimum Magic Storage, Recipe Browser, and the Calamity music mod (there was some technical reason to split them up))

Every time I've tried to play Starbound, it just feels empty in comparison to base Terrarria. Maybe worth a weekend on sale? Definitely wait for some sale.

I doubt anyone would be able to tell that the new soundtrack is just remixes. They're nothing alike in the slightest, so it might as well be entirely new

Am, 31, I've never really had hangovers as others describe it. The main aftereffect I feel from drinking is just not being able to tell if I'm hungry the next day or not. I've barfed way more often from overeating the next day than from the actual alcohol. I do stay super hydrated with water though, always keep water around.

iirc within the episode, ruby was actively trying to avoid discussion about it (out of shame of being disabled), and aqua just didn't really care to push it much. discussion of it did come up, it just left the vibe of "don't discuss this further"

the first arc is definitely a lot of stretches. i loved it but it was still convoluted and situational. but it was gr8 in the end imo

rewatched it myself when i posted it and damn. the amount of effort and creativity that went into this that they just handwaved away as "we could have fudged it but we didn't because it was neat" was astounding

minor fun fact, the documentary had the supernova and gasps for air at both 22 minutes and 44 minutes. before the 22 minute one, they even begin playing End Times (the supernova theme) at the right time

to be honest, you can consider the first episode of oshi no ko to be an entire cour (it's dense), and then just leave it alone for another few months if you want a second cour. that's what i'm gonna do, and I was probably the most hyped person in this topic for episode 1. that also means you don't have to rush to watch it
