He was making good money (like, at least 70k in a really low CoL area), but the drive was killing him. For that kind of money, I would tolerate a hour each way at absolute most. For minimum wage, absolutely no more than half an hour each way. I had the pleasure of working a lot of "short-shift" jobs in college where I would drive for 20 minutes to get there, work for 2-3 hours, and then drive 20 minutes back home. It sucked, and I barely made any money after factoring in the gas. |
