Over the course of a week, it compels the ant to leave the safety of its nest and ascend a nearby plant stem. It stops the ant at a height of 25 centimetersa zone with precisely the right temperature and humidity for the fungus to grow. It forces the ant to permanently lock its mandibles around a leaf. Eventually, it sends a long stalk through the ants head, growing into a bulbous capsule full of spores. And because the ant typically climbs a leaf that overhangs its colonys foraging trails, the fungal spores rain down onto its sisters below, zombifying them in turn.

Not exactly the same but Rabies is a similar kind of idea if you think about it and can infect humans.

I saw a video on Reddit of some older dude who was experiencing the water aversion. He was in the hospital and had a cup of water and whenever he would try to drink it he would gag and couldn't do it. Apparently at that point it's way too late and the dude will die from rabies.

Somehow a few weeks ago one of the facebook "Trucker Protest Groups" appeared on my timeline. I made the mistake of clicking the picture and now every time I look at my Facebook I'll have to scroll past 5 different trucker groups.

What's weird is now all I ever see are pictures of John Deere tractors. It's almost like it's a farmer protest or something now.

It was one of my favorite movies from when I was young. It's George Lucas but it's honestly kind of a bad movie. Personally I think it's worth a watch but don't expect it to be your favorite movie or anything.

This shit is wild. He says he has a condition that makes it so he can't work (I think he got disability) and the doctors said he should be walking with a cane and would never lift weights again. But he powered through it and can walk fine and lift but somehow not work. (Lulz) Dude seems to lie about everything.

I just started this last week because a buddy of mine made a joke about it being tough to even get out of the main characters yard.

I have 3 of the 4 characters and am about to go into Spookane.

The game is fine but it has some outdated systems that were fixed in Earthbound (SNES) that I miss.

I named all my characters after their counterparts from the SNES game. The last dude looks more like a punk dude than the martial arts guy Poo is.

I have a feeling this is way more common than people realize. It happens in the construction industry too. "Redo my driveway and I'll make sure you get the paving contract" or flat out cash bribes.

Wouldn't a gas stove be better for the environment than an electric one anyway? I was under the impression that natural gas is a cleaner source of energy than most electric generation.

I'm not even sure anymore. If it is cleaner people will point out that we need to frack to get the gas and that's bad for the planet too. So who knows.

Are there people who will milk the system and try to get every penny they can out of it? Sure. Are there people who get food stamps and sell them for cigarette money? Yeah. But probably not as many as a certain party would have you think. But I would rather that and try to catch the cheats than just offer no help at all.

You hear all the time how the US will punish someone by giving them less aid and other monies. I've never really thought about it, and I think it's safe to say I haven't felt the ramifications of it here if there are, but are there counties who are doing the same to the US? Or because we are such a "rich" country do other countries not do stuff like that?

That website seems weird. It's from the UK (.UK) and I have to get to the fifth paragraph to even know they are talking about the USA.

I don't know about firethief but Squadder was the guy who had the condition where you hate people with authority or whatever. And bipolar, and autism. He would get in fights with everyone and insist he wasn't doing what everyone saw him doing.

It must be a thing for my age range (Mid 30s) where everyone my age is excited that finally there's a super bowl with entertainers for "Our generation" and not for "our parents". It's almost like a source of pride for a lot of them and it's weird.

I agree. I've said it before but I'll defend Little Caesars but their value to cost ratio is great.

I'm not sure about GTA Online 2 or not but if I'm remembering correctly they didn't say GTA6 at any point, they just said the next GTA game. If it was GTA6 they would have said GTA6. I may be misremembering though.

Personally I would tell them to go fuck themselves and then any time you see a post on Facebook about their hiring I would comment that they like to put out misleading job postings and bait and switch you with the salary. Fuck them.

Something I noticed, and there's a chance I'm mixing up the books with the movies...

In JP 1 Grant said the T-Rex vision is based on movement.
In either JP2 or 3 someone, I forget who, said that people used to think the TRex vision was based on movement but they were wrong and then the T-Rex eats someone who was standing still.

The trailer for this one they seem to stop moving when they see the T-Rex and two characters say "stay still."

The part I'm confused about is the JP2/3 part. I may be mixing it up with the second book and it could be that somewhere in the second book that conversation happens but I don't remember.

This happened to my dad. He was out on the deck on a small walkway that was like 4 feet above the ground. We had a lot of snow down there so a fall wouldn't really be dangerous unless you landed on your neck or something. He was on the deck and somehow slipped off and over the side (no railing on the walkway, has since been corrected) and feel into the snow. He said it dazed him for a little bit but he got up and felt fine.

He wakes up the next morning with what he said was the worst headache he ever had. He went to the ER and they told him the fall had caused a brain bleed. He was in the hospital for like a week.

I used to watch my brothers but we were all close in age to each other and it was never for that long. Short periods of time are fine but seriously not during a full workday when your babysitter is supposed to be doing schooling and there's that many kids. What did this mom expect? Something was going to eventually go wrong. Just a bad idea. But then what choice did she have besides not going in to work herself.

But again, the kid was fine so I don't think charges should be pressed.
