Me too. I had my heat set to 69/70 (old school dial) and overnight it was 59 degrees in the house. I don't really care, but it makes me realize I need some new windows. Leaks don't have to be just at windows but at my place they are a huge part of the problem.

For one glorious summer, I had it.

It was awesome but also terrible. Street Fighter 2, for example, only let you play as Ryu or E.Honda. Most games were normal, but it took a solid 20-30 minutes to download the roms at times (didn't know that's what it was doing at the time).

And you could only have 1 game downloaded at a time.

Turned system off? gotta re-download the game.

It's crazy to think about but the game sizes were at most 16 MB or something weren't they?

I sure do. It was hard to find for me, and I couldn't afford it. But a buddy of mine had it. I tried it. Not very impressed.

I was young so I thought it was amazing. I get it though. It was kind of slow to download a game or whatever IIRC and they would occasionally remove a game you were playing without warning. But it really was a small glimpse into the future.

It was fucking awesome. I didn't have it but a friend did and we would hang out at his place a lot. 11/12 year old me thought this was the greatest thing ever.

Nowadays we have the internet and a service like Game Pass. Sega was ahead of it's time.

For the young bucks, the Sega Channel was a cable channel (separate subscription) that when turned on and hooked up to your Sega it allowed the playing of up to 50 different Sega games that rotated, just through your cable lines. This started in 94 I think.

Edit: Wikipedia says the price was 13 bucks a month or something.

I've only ever backed 3 projects on Kickstarter and it's the three times they did this calendar. In 2019 and 2020 it was all Earthbound inspired fan drawn images. This year they opened it up to classic video games. They skipped 2021 due to Covid.

I watched all of this over the past few days. I vaguely remember reading the book a few years ago but don't remember much about it except how the wife died and what was in her mouth at the time of death.

The show is weird at times. There's scenes that are entirely too long. There's scenes that are entirely too short. But it's enjoyable.

It's weird you start with the HP you do. Like my level 1 character had 21458 HP or some random number. I get that they have super high HP because you're supposed to be able to do go to any zone at any level and it scales to you, but the HP number just artificially high and random. I have always enjoyed seeing HP in games from from 100, to 120, to 150, up to max level when it's at the 21000 range.

Small nitpick and I know it's just because I'm weird.

I really don't know much about autism but it says you were tested when you were younger. Why does that coming up as "no Autism" mean less than it coming up now as "having Autism". Can they not test as well when younger? I guess I don't know what age "younger" was.

Got a few levels in. I'm up to level 6 although I was sitting on level 5 for a while because it gave me three items and my inventory was full so I couldn't level up.

I was worried when I saw the three skills trees/sections to choose from that I had to pick one and couldn't mix and match. Turns out I can so I have two of the first Warden healing spells and the bird dive bomb one. I'm also using a healing staff and if it wasn't for the fact using that gives me additional healing spells I probably would be using something different like a fire staff.

did my first "delve" which I guess is a little solo dungeon? That was neat. I had started in the Aldmeri Domionion or whatever but moved to Daggerfall because that seems to be where my side starts the main quest. I've mostly just been putzing around and trying things like stealing.

I'm excited to play more. I can 100 percent see how they really try to get you to buy the monthly fee because my inventory was full of crafting materials and it sucked how much space they took up. Unless you don't plan on crafting at all I don't see how you can get away from the monthly sub and crafting bag. Although, my inventory space is only 60 right now.

I'm not expecting it to become my favorite game or even main MMO (FF14 replaced EQ2.) I'm just kind of looking to explore a world and mess around for a while. I've played a LITTLE of both Morrowind and Oblivion so those worlds will be mostly new to explore for me. Skyrim I played a lot of but never actually beat the game so only a little bit of that will be new.

So the past couple days I have been looking around for something to play. By default it was probably going to be a resub to FF14 but I've been seeing videos and stuff about ESO. I watched a beginner guide or two to get a feel for what the game is like. First it seems confusing AF to even buy the game with having to pick the right version. Although it isn't AS complicated since I don't have any of it. Then I've been seeing that it doesn't really put you where the main quest starts. Apparently you can do the quest in any order and it doesn't really matter but for order of release you have to find a guide. Kinda confusing, but okay.

So how is the game?

Does this 20 bucks get me everything? I know there's smaller DLC packs and you can either purchase them with their store currency OR subscribe for the monthly fee and get them? They aren't included with my 20?

I'm debating between healing and tanking. I found a table on the ESO wiki that seems to indicate my best choices for healing are Templar or Warden. For Tanking it's Dragon Knight or Necro? What's the difference between excellent and good? Are we talking a little bit or should a Templar never be tank?

Hasn't this been said since it started becoming big? It's a little less deadly but infects far more people so there will be a higher death tool but not a higher percentage of people who have covid who died.

Granted this is just one study but the very first line is that it causes less severe Covid. I'm not saying they science won't change around it because it's still kind of new but as of now I don't think this person is incorrect.

My guess is there's always been people needing it to travel and the number of tests needed for them was handled fine. But now a lot more people are getting Covid and they are trying to get tests too

I think the Expanse game has a shot at being good.

No one really has any clue. They had filmed 6 of the 8 episodes and shut down a little bit for Covid. When they came back to finish the last two episodes he just didn't come back. He hasn't said anything about it. Apparently he also deleted his social media accounts. It's a mystery.

I didn't take the day off, I was already off... But me and my two brothers and 2 buddies went and saw Return of the King back to back. I didn't mind it except I was sick and the ending dragged on forever.

There's something called the R0 (R Nought) which is how many people someone will infect. It was 2.2 for Covid and 1.8 for the 1918 flu.

I don't know about yet but it will be soon. Last week I heard it was only like 3 percent of cases or something small but it a week it now makes up 73 percent of NEW cases. So I don't know that it has yet but it 100 percent will in a few weeks.

I've only ever finished up through book 6 and am reading book 7 now but I know the basic plot points for the whole series.

I get some of the changes so far and I don't have anything bad to say about them yet. I think we need to give them a few seasons to start bemoaning changes. A lot of hands were up in the air about (EPISODE 1 and 7 SPOILERS) the fever dream of Tam telling Rand he isn't his real father being removed but turns out it wasn't actually removed.

I think it will look better next season with better sets and effects. I hope the new Mat is good. Although I feel so far that there isn't a real bad guy. Sure there's Fain and Valda and Trollocs and Fade every now and then but we haven't really seen or heard much about The Dark One. Also I feel there's some important lore that hasn't been talked about like the actual Prophecy of the Dragon (although Rand held the book when he met Loial) or ta'veren but maybe it will be talked about in episode 8.

But other than that I love the series.

If the Earth runs out of wind we can just drop a nuke in the least populated place so the wind that creates powers the country. Duh.

Yeah, you have to craft the seeds using one of each of the forage items, so it can be annoying to get a big crop started. I'm not sure what the return on your investment is for those crops.

I looked it up and this may be a little above TC and what he has to worry about but the Winter Seeds can give you:
Crocus - Base Price 60g
Crystal Fruit - Base Price 150 G (worth a good bit more if turned into wine, base price 450g)
Snow Yam - Base Price 100g
Winter Root - Base price 70g (put one in a seed maker for 1-3 winter seeds)

So actually they aren't horrible.

I made a topic about this earlier today. I didn't even think to check if someone else had.

I found it Saturday morning when I was randomly up early and watched it all pretty much non-stop. It certainly gets a little darker towards the end but nothing heavy. I really really really enjoyed this. Never heard of Kyle before but I'll be paying attention now.

Oh nice! Our company is shutting down between Christmas and New Years Day. If something comes up or you have something time sensitive to do you have to work from home or come in a day and do it during that week but other than that it's time off. It's nice having a job that treats you like adults!

As for your chicken coop, I have one too and I need to upgrade it. I don't have a silo yet, either. Just make sure you stockpile some hay in the fall or you'll have to buy some from Marnie. Can't let your chickens starve. There is a little trough that holds 4 pieces of hay. The silo just fills the trough for you, right?

I think the first barn/coop has 4 slots, then the first upgrade gives you some more, and then the third upgrade gives you even more. I think it's 4/8/12. Once you get the first upgrade you get an incubator that can hatch the eggs giving you even more animals. The 12 upgrade gives you an auto-feeder that will automatically fill the 12 feed slots. Honestly, I don't worry about animals until I've gotten the third upgrade because it's a huge pain in the ass, to me anyways, to feed them each morning.

To help you out a bit, and it's what I do, you can either fence in an area outside your coop/barn and have grass growing in there. If you open the other door in Spring/Summer/Fall the animals will come out each morning and eat grass from the ground instead of the feeder. In fact you can leave it open overnight, although I keep it closed in the Winter. You also don't have to fence it in, you can just let the animals run free around the farm and they will return each night. They won't come out in winter.

It's your first time so I wouldn't go all crazy trying to min/max each season. It's perfectly okay to go to bed at 1 PM (although there is for sure stuff to be done)

If you've played a Harvest Moon game you should get the hang of it quickly. IF you haven't then it's going to be weird.

Some basic tips:
1) While it's shown on a calendar like it's a month it isn't. There are 4 seasons of 28 days each. Each have their own crops to grow, fish to catch, foragables that are in season, etc. Side note: Nothing will grow on your farm in Winter.

2) There's two progression paths. One is the community center and you'll get a cut scene with Juminos and can look at the bundles that need turned in shortly after the beginning of the game. Community center requires some planning ahead. The other is the JoJa Mart. Joja does NOT require bundles and everything is just bought with the money you've earned. I would do the Community Center in at least 1 playthrough for the experience but frankly every playthrough since the first one I've done Joja.

3) On the first day of each season the crops you had planted will wilt and die. It's normal. It doesn't matter if they were supposed to produce fruit or not. There are a couple crops that grow between seasons but not many. Grass grows 3 of the 4 seasons.

4) If you happen to get a pre-historic egg or Prismatic Shard save the very first one, any additional can be donated. An ancient seed can be turned into the Museum when you get the first one. The Prismatic Shard can be turned in in the desert area at a puzzle and will get you one of the most powerful weapons in the game. The pre-historic egg can be put into an incubator in either your coop or barn (i forget which) and hatches a little dinosaur. Once that dinosaur lays an egg you can donate that one or put them in incubators for more dinosaurs.

5) Ore from the mine is used to upgrade tools at the shop above the Museum. When a tool is upgraded HOLD the button for most of them to see the increased range of the tools. e.g. First watering can upgrade does 3 tiles in front of you. Last watering can upgrade makes it a 6 tile by 3 tile block. You do NOT need to hold for the upgrades for the pick or axe, they are more powerful just by swinging them and lets you break bigger rocks/trees. This same shop is ALSO where you break Geodes up. The highest tier is Irridium. Irriduium is generally not found in the regular mines. It can be a rare drop depending on luck but for the most part you'll get it from The Desert Mine which is an unlock.

6) Check the TV daily. On certain days (I want to say Wednesdays and Sundays) there's a cooking show that teaches you new recipes. This is the ONLY way to gain a lot of the recipes in the game. It's also good to know your extra luck.

7) Luck does various things but the biggest one is it changes the frequency of finding a ladder/hole in the mines. This means you move from floor to floor quicker. Not as big a deal in the mountain mine but when you unlock The Desert Mine and the goal is to get down as many floors as you can for better loot it's kind of clutch. There are foods that raise your luck and one of the better ones is called "Lucky Lunch" and it's earned from the TV. (See note 6 above)

8) There are two places you can plant crops and the season doesn't matter. The crops will continue to grow daily and season changes won't effect them. These areas are the Greenhouse (unlock) and the new island from the latest major patch. These are the locations i'll plant the big money items like Strawberries or Star Fruits.

9) At 1 AM you get a warning icon on the character about being tired. I think it's just some simple ZZZs or something. At 2 AM you will collapse wherever you are and lose items (although I don't think your tools can be lost) and be charged a fee in gold. You'll also wake up the next day missing a good chunk of your energy. This missing energy can be replaced with an item from the Doctor but you should ALWAYS try to avoid passing out. This also happens when you run out of energy.

10) Max energy can be increased with hidden items called Stardrops. You'll see a vendor in the Forest that appears on certain days that will sell you a "rare seed." you grow this in the fall and it takes 24 days (SO DO NOT START IT LATE) and the fruit grown can be turned in somewhere for one of the Stardrops. You can only do the growing of the rare seed once. There are a set number of Star Drops and they are in specific locations.

That's the big ones. I'm sure there's more but off the top of my head this should get you started.

I think it's going to depend on what type of place this is. Restaurant and it's a waiter? It's on the waiter. (although there wouldn't be a 24 hour shift)

Doctor and it's a 24 hour shift? It's on the manager although it sounds like the employee was told they have to do X for the day off to be approved and it wasn't done.

This could lead into a whole conversation about using vacation days in the US

Reading your list it seems like it's a lot of people you hired to do a job dropping the ball. Not saying it doesn't cause more work for you or isn't stressful or anything but it seems a lot of your stress is other peoples fuck ups.
