I have a CZ-75 SP-01 and Remington 870 in my house. I also have like 50-60 guns at my parents house. All of the men my parent's generation and before were huge into guns and I'm one of the few of my generation that likes them. So as my grand parents have all died and a few uncles have started to die, more and more of the collection is coming my away. I'll probably sell 90% of the collection but my dad still has space in his cabinets for more guns so no pressure yet.

It's a whole bunch of WW2 weapons, a few WW1, and then hunting rifles. Like I've got 4 20 gauge shotguns.

I bought a pistol when I moved to a bad neighborhood by myself. I would have no chance in a fight without it. My dog barks at anything around my place so hopefully he would be warning enough. It's a M&P .380 Shield.

I was worried .380 would be too little stopping power but I tested it with my friend and it went through a metal sign no problem. That combined with hollow points should be fine for basic defense. The thing I love the most about it is how lightweight it is, very portable and easy to use.

Lot of people will tell you to get a 9mm, but the difference in stopping power is negligible. I can pop off a mag of .380 with much better grouping than my 9mm, idk if it's the free floating barrel on it but I just like the recoil on the .380 more.

The only thing I don't like about the .380 is ammo is impossible to find, 9mm is everywhere

No, one of my cousins ended up with one though. My dad had some Japanese machine gun that he sold in the early 2000s.

My grandpa collected katanas during WW2, supposedly a bit under 200 total came back with him / were shipped to him. In the 70s he started trading them for all sorts of other WW2 memorabilia. He ended up with a decent amount of US stuff but it was mostly a mix of every nations rifles and carbines and sometimes pistols. So I have like 5 or so M1s but I also have Czech, Hungarian, Romanian, Polish, German, Italian, Japanese, French, English, Soviet, Chinese, I may be missing a couple.

My dad still has 2 of the katanas (all 9 of my grandpas children got 2), 1 older one and 1 military issue. My dad's older one is from I want to say the early 1700s? The oldest one was from the 1500s and is supposedly worth a ton.

I totally agree about the recoil. I went to a shooting range with my friends and fired off some 9mm and yeah, I was much more accurate with the .380. The recoil is less jarring

What about accuracy? I'd say that's a pretty big area of concern between 9mm and .380. I mean if you shoot fine with 9mm that's great, but those have some serious kick. Also what type of penetration are you talking about, like body armor?

Yes all but one inherited. The other bought for me as a birthday gift. I don't really carry though I should.

Thank you, this is 8 pages late but you came through.

Just do what i do and carry a 357 sig.

Its effective and you can be a hipster about it.

My mother with arthritis in her hands still uses .22 , and .380, good rounds for people who are older and have hand problems.

9mm pistol that is now kept at my house. It used to be my conceal carry gun when I had to go to very sketchy places for work and walk around the area. I don't do that anymore so I don't carry it.

Also a shotgun that's just for fun while at camp. But that currently needs a new firing pin.

I have a Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm 2.0 Compact that I just keep in the house. I don't really feel the need to carry, though.
