So I've been working this position for 1 month now.

So basically I called a client about feedback and to review us on a platform, but I messed up and said the wrong things.

Manager called me and my mentor/senior in. I told her I feel like I fudged up big time, but she said that I shouldn't think in this way and that I'm still learning, and that she's just trying to teach me how to handle this specific situation moving forward (because, after all, I did say the wrong things). Then she said I'm a fast learner, and mentor/senior said I'm improving day by day.

I still feel like I fudged up tho, and a bit bad. Should I feel bad about myself?:D

This kind of talk basically means they want you to learn from your mistake, but also, they can't afford to replace you, so they're not really judging you harshly on it at all.

Take them at their word, in this case. They really do want you to just learn from mistakes. Call center-esque jobs have insanely high turnover rates, so it's in their best interest to be honest and try to retain people.

Nah, I buy their explanation. They certainly don't have an iffy post history. I just feel like blaming CE isn't the answer, here, since "Poor X" is a known meme that is 99% used to devalue the person, and so more tact needs to be used, because it obviously elicits a certain response.

If they're charging her with battery when they're the ones beating her, it makes no sense. It's like they're saying that she assaulted the concrete with her head, or that she assaulted their hands when they wrestled her to the ground. It's like when people say that Russian dissidents attacked a 3rd story window or assaulted some bullets with their head, they're not supporting Putin, they're making fun of the absurdity of oppression.

I appreciate the explanation, but I feel like the fact that multiple people took what you said as meaning the traditional meme meaning suggests you worded it incredibly poorly, and is not a "classic CE" scenario.

Which is precisely why it's a meme. The point is "That poor inanimate object/concept/whatever," which is devaluing the life of the person in question. That's why it's typically used against awful people, and why it caused confusion in this topic.

Seems funny to me that people immediately get blasted for "hornyposting," here, but Ghostfaceleaks somehow is getting away with incredibly blatant trolling about literal animal abuse, in this very topic.

They were incredibly obsessed with "censorship." Complaining about TMNT not having "Hot April," complaining about Xmen 97 not having "big butt Rogue," etc. and so on.

It got very creepy, and it's what I know them most for.

This is the least surprising thing ever. They were absolutely obsessed with horny, to the point of repeatedly badmouthing things they didn't even watch (such as the new TMNT movie) because it did away with things like "Hot April" that they wanted. It got pretty gross.

That's not obvious at all, since she's being charged for assaulting a police officer, which she didn't do.

When somebody says "That poor concrete," the obvious reaction is going to be "This person is saying the concrete suffered from being touched by X," since that's how that comment is typically used.

I'm not doubting that was the intention, but... Yikes, you gotta do it a lot better than that.

Yes, I absolutely would like the Sonic movies to deviate further from the human aspect and more into the actual... Sonic aspect, but for what they are... Screw it, they're not bad.

Fandom is in no way pushing progressivism. They are a corporation searching for money and they think cracking down anything slightly "offensive" about sexuality will net them more advertising money and visitors to this website. Which is funny, because killing off sexuality has been the downfall of many sites. Look at Tumblr for example.

To be fair, Tumblr was basically known for it. It was pretty much the most popular thing people used it for.

Probably, but that's allowed.

If Bernie could only win if everybody stayed in the race the entire time, it doesn't mean it was rigged, it just, sadly, meant he was the weaker candidate, at the time.

It sucks that Bernie lost, but he didn't lose because it was rigged. He lost because older voters didn't want to vote progressive, and younger voters didn't turn out as much in the primaries.

the second time he was actually winning the same way trump won the primary. He had 40% for but the other 60% was mixed up between multiple people. The Democratic Party noticed this and EVERYONE dropped to support Biden, except the one person who siphoned some votes from Bernie.

I'm not sure this logic tracks. Warren and Bloomberg both stayed in until after Super Tuesday, then dropped within two days of that. Unless you mean Tulsi, but she got such a negligible amount of votes I'm not sure she'd be worth mentioning. Yes, the people who dropped endorsed Biden, but if Bernie could only win by virtue of other people staying in the race, does that really say anything?

Something tells me this particular user isn't being completely honest about why they got suspended.

It depends on your listening habits. If you listen to the same songs a lot, and/or skip new songs often, it'll start giving you less new songs and focus on what you listen to more.

My argument isn't to blame YouTube, I straight up say nobody should let their kids on YouTube in the first place. Stuff that kids should never see sneaks past the moderation all the time because Google doesn't use humans to decide what gets put onto YouTube Kids. If you let your kids watch YouTube you're making your own job just that much harder.

Then I feel like you and DudeThomas aren't actually in disagreement, since that feels like a big part of their argument, that you should be aware of what your children do and avoid letting them do things that may influence poor behavior.

I don't know, maybe I missed something. This all feels like one giant miscommunication.

But again, it doesn't account for all kids. You can have one kid that will take those lessons to heart and you'll have another kid who will think they know better and end up doing something dumb and getting hurt. Even raising them the same way that can and does happen. I'm sure you get how you can have different people react completely differently to any sort of situation or even explanation, kids are the same way.

As an example, when I was a kid both myself and my best friend were absolutely taught to not fuck around with fireworks. Me? I never fucked around with fireworks, I used them responsibly and by the instructions. My friend? He didn't learn the lesson until he cut open a roman candle, dumped out the gunpowder and threw a match in, except the match kept blowing out so he cupped his hand around it and then did it and poof he got severe burns on his hands and singed his eyebrows and his dad had to wipe his ass until his burns healed and let me tell you that he didn't fuck around with fireworks again after that.

Simply explaining things to kids doesn't always work, it all depends on the sort of person the kid is and how receptive they're going to be. Some kids yeah, no problem. Others? Oh, it's going to be a problem.

I get all of this, but what I don't get is where just blaming Youtube comes in. At the end of the day, you're responsible for your kid's actions, no? And, obviously, you need to adapt to how your kids learn, versus how they don't. That's an important part of parenting. I think the controversy in question was directed at parents that refuse to take accountability and instead just try to blame the internet.

Thing is, that doesn't stop all kids. Fear of punishment works great on some kids, other kids not so much. People who don't have kids often expect kids to be a whole lot more reasonable and rational than they actually are in reality. For instance, I don't have a lot to worry about with my kid in the kitchen, she's not the sort to mess around in there, that said there's friends of hers that you need to watch like a hawk. It doesn't all come down to the parenting, you even end up with siblings where you have one that's responsible and another that's wild, you cannot discount a kids personality which has far more influences impacting it than just the parents.

I feel like there's a miscommunication, because it wasn't even a fear of punishment. I just... Knew I had no idea what I was doing, because my parents taught me, at a young age, how complicated the oven could be, so I never felt the urge to try something I didn't know how to do. I don't know the full context, but I feel like that was Dude's point. You have to teach your kids to respect the capability of something, so that they don't just fear punishment, but they also recognize the actual danger, instead of just blaming something else.

The example comes from Dudes fallacious argument that teaching your kids not to microwave eggs is some common discussion a parent will have with their kids.

I don't think that was his argument at all. His argument was to just teach your kids not to cook anything, period, if they don't know how to, unless you're around. Which seems logical to me?

For the longest time, even as a kid, La Parka and Psicosis were my favorites, period. Even when I knew I was supposed to root for Mysterio or whoever, I liked them most.

I think I liked La Parka because of his "Chairman" gimmick, and how much he could move, even as a bigger guy. Meanwhile, I liked Psicosis because he just felt like the most impressive of the bunch when he really got the chance to perform, and the Guillotine Legdrop was one hell of a finisher.

I once literally had a popcorn kernel get so wedged that I couldn't tell it was there and I couldn't remove it with floss or anything, and I just assumed I had a cavity, so I went to the dentist for tooth pain, and they were like "...No, your tooth looks alright, we don't know why it hurt-......OH, SHIT, POPCORN KERNEL."

And oh shit was it satisfying to get it removed.

I'll be honest, as somebody who loved the Attitude Era, and then kinda got turned off over the years, the new/HHH? era stuff is actually extremely good. I'd take a chance on it, if I were you.
