Haven't heard of this movie but just watching that clip and I can tell the premise is incredibly stupid.

The premise is literally: If you give one person too much power, even with good intentions, said intentions can end up bad/corrupted. Thus, the heroine realizes the mistake that was made, and tries to fight against the already established system.

That doesn't seem like a bad premise at all, since it literally admits mistakes were made, which lead to the "villain," in the first place.

Precisely. Athletes earn their pay, in almost the purest form. If you want to be paid better, you need to put in the work and literally get better, with very few exceptions.

I'd disagree, somewhat. "Professional athlete" is one of the careers most likely to result in injury, often multiple. And sports DO help local economies. So, yes, while I agree our current system is broken, in general... Within the current system, athletes do deserve high pay. The issue isn't that athletes are paid too much, it's that other careers are paid too little. And they're separate problems. You don't need to pay athletes less in order to pay other careers more. The problem is that, in other careers, there is usually somebody at the top making too much and not willing to cut into their own profits.

The issue is he was never in a relationship to "breakup" from in the first place. He admits he only calls her his "ex" because "It's simpler." She specifically did NOT want a relationship with him.

The problem is that he doesn't accept the things he is literally telling us, himself. He says she told him she didn't want a relationship, but then convinced himself "She was lying about it." Instead of accepting that she never liked him like that, he's convinced she did and was lying to him about not wanting a relationship, hence his "hangups."

Basically, it isn't worth getting into. He has to work these things out on his own.

By his own admission, he was late arriving to work and coming back from lunch MULTIPLE times, and, again, by his own admittance, often times for reasons such as "I wanted to finish the TV show I was watching, first." The HR department fired him over this. He insists he was told he was allowed to be late whenever he wanted, but he has been very inconsistent on this, admitting that apparently one or two managers told him this, but also one or two managers specifically said he couldn't, including putting it on his record. He also admitted that, for awhile, his lateness was excused, due to his living arrangements changing, and so on. So if you consider everything he has said, it leads you to the conclusion... He was never ALLOWED to be late "any time he wanted," they just allowed him some leeway, for awhile, and he tried to take advantage of it. In other words, they gave him leeway, originally, he tried to take advantage, they fired him over it, and he got mad.

Long story short, he's been very inconsistent on that just as much as he has been in these topics, and it amounts to... He makes up his own reality, and doesn't like accepting responsibility. He tries to just... Refuse reality, and blame others.

His definition of "intimate" is clearly suspect, since he keeps calling a girl he was never in a relationship with his "ex," and literally admits she specifically stopped spending time with him because she felt like he was trying to pressure her into a relationship.

That said, yes, "friends with benefits" is definitely a thing.

I'm just going to say this:

If somebody tells you that they want to spend less time with you because they don't want you to think you're in an actual relationship, and/or they think you will try to pressure them into one, they are not "with" you. You need to accept this. The fact you won't accept this is the entire problem.

Gotta be honest, this sounds like a person who doesn't want to ever be with you. They enjoy what they get out of it, buy never plan to progress it.

His idea of "dating" is "we hung out sometimes as friends," and he doesn't accept that she never wanted to actually be with him as anything more than friends. He keeps insisting "She just didn't understand her feelings."

You could also just provide context, since not everybody can afford $14-18 a pop to go to the movies often.

I don't get sick-sick very often, but I get "cold-like" symptoms like 9 months of the year. Doctors are extremely confused. My white blood count is super wacky, sometimes it's good, sometimes it's low, but I don't have any of the usual diseases/conditions aligned with such a thing. Some of them think it's some kind of super weird mix of allergies + thyroid issues causing it, other ones are just "...I have literally no idea, but if you're not sick enough to be hospitalized, then uh... I'll just monitor it and wait and see?"

That said, I do get sick-sick literally every year around Christmas. It's like a curse. My family used to think it was because that's when kids got sick often during school, yet parents had them attend, anyway, since Christmas vacation was coming up, but the trend continued even past school.

The best doctor guess is that I had really bad pneumonia as a baby and almost died, and they think that fucked up my immune system in ways they can't really figure out.

The last news on it was like, July of this year, and they admitted development had basically restarted twice. Sounds like they don't know what they want to do with it, since EA has the simulation games with Madden, and then stuff like Wild Card Football covers the arcade style.

Because the typical doctor treats symptoms and supposes some of the most common causes of them to base the treatment on. House is who people go to when they've had a second opinion, and a third, and they're still popping eyeballs. Or if it's an ER case, Cuddy gives it to House when the normal people try the usual stuff and can't get any progress.

House is a diagnostician so his job is to come up with novel but possible explanations for unusual symptom combinations.

And there are a ton of conditions with overlapping symptom manifestation. The stuff House deals with is the stuff you can't just give someone a pill and send them home for, he often has to make serious decisions that could kill the patient if the diagnosis is wrong, or at least mutilate them.

Yes, I agree, in theory. And, in theory, that's what makes House interesting.

But, past the first few seasons, that isn't what House is. Instead of creating interesting scenarios that make you think "Gee, this is weird, and I get why normal doctors couldn't figure it out," they just basically default to... Literally every doctor but House is an idiot who should probably not be practicing.

That's why I ended up dropping the show. After a few seasons, they stopped being creative, and instead just made everybody but House a moron.

Granted, I did love the first few seasons, but after awhile, instead of creating intriguing scenarios for House, they just make... Everybody else really dumb.

EDIT: To be clear, mileage will vary. I'm biased, for personal reasons. And, to be fair, it's still a very entertaining show. I'm just somebody who focuses on the actual medical aspects, for reasons.

Basically, here is my issue with House, after like, a season or two.

With a show like Monk, they atleast got creative, and invented scenarios where you could believably think "Okay, it makes sense why an OCD detective picked up on things normal detectives did not."

In House, it's literally just "...Why the fuck didn't a normal doctor notice this?! Why did it take literally House to recognize a condition literally any normal doctor should have seen?!"

Monk portrayed Monk as being uniquely better than average detectives.
House portrayed literally every doctor but House being a complete idiot.

House felt like a good show for like, five minutes. But I'll never forget a scene, where House is like "gee what is wrong with this person," and suddenly the person's eye like, literally pops out, and House is stilll like "gee, what is wrong with this person," as if that wasn't some sort of "holy shit, what" moment.

And all of this was within the first like, ten minutes. And the rest of the episode follows the typical

House: "IS IT LUPUS?!"
Everybody else: "...No. No, it is not."
House: "Oh. *Figures out the problem in the last five minutes of the episode.*"
Everybody else: "HOUSE YOU ARE A GENIUS."
