Seanchan 04/27/24 12:13:17 PM #15	Done 2 listens so far. As you might expect (since I say the same thing about nearly every rap album we've covered), I'm not really a fan. This is just so very verse heavy and I need those choruses to ground me, otherwise these songs tend to just glom together. The songs that stood out to me are the 2 Open Mic Nites and Can I Watch?. That's not surprising, as they're the songs that prominently feature other voices. Which gets to my second takeaway, which is that I also think I'm just not a big fan of MF DOOM's rapping, just in terms of voice and delivery. This might be herasy to rap fans, but from my limited perspective, his overall sound reminded me a lot of Nas. I could also see maybe some of the Wu Tang influence with some of the little skit/clip things at the end of a bunch of the songs? ~~~ On a completely unrelated note, I started watching Cowboy Bebop. About a quarter of the way through and I'm not really seeing what makes it so beloved so far? I'm not a big anime guy, but maybe it goes crazy like Neon Genesis Evangelion does near the end? (No spoilers!) I did do a lot of "Leo DiCaprio pointing" at recognizing a whole bunch of the music. Not to say that it doesn't still land, but I can't imagine how much harder the opening theme must have hit 25 years ago. Also, I was surprised it's a different vocalist for Rain in the show than it is for the album. BTW, Hulu fucking sucks ass. Start episode, ADS, opening, ADS, 1-2 AD breaks during the episode. Literally 5-6 minutes of horseshit for a 25 minute episode. No way to skip the intro or the outro (so I skip the little "on the next episode bits at the very end). Not auto playing the next episode. Deloads work, and you don't actually have to take full workouts off, nor do you have to do a full week. Either cut your reps in half and keep the same weight, or keep the same reps, and cut your weight in half(on any muscle that is struggling). Pumped up for bench tomorrow. Awesome! Going to give that advice a go with OHP/shoulders tomorrow. I generally agree with trying not to take a full day/week off, if only because the DOMs (at least for me) are always so bad after time away. Sure the Wii was a huge moment but so was the Switch. There are lots of people who have only ever owned a Switch as well, especially those who got one in the pandemic. The things you can say for the Wii are that it codified Nintendos plans to not go all in power, it normalised releasing old games on modern consoles, and motion controls are here to stay, albeit as a minor feature. None of that quite adds up to Rushmore worthy. It was also amusingly I think the first home console with wifi capabilities out of the box as the OG Xbox 360 didnt have it, but nobody is touting the Wii as the most important online console. Lets be real though: the SNES is an absolute pretender to the throne here. No reason to vote for it at all other than nostalgia, sure it had a great library but so do all of these except the NES. Honestly even the N64 has a place above the SNES due to its importance in the shift to 3D. Anyway, the 360 is a system I never even owned but should absolutely be on here because of how important it was to modern gaming, especially with its use of online features. Its the base of all current consoles, were all basically playing Xbox 360s now. Wii was a cultural moment. Don't you remember hearing about nursing homes with Wiis because they could play Wii Sports? Do you remember how much of a flop Wii U was? Switch is obviously "better" than Wii but it does not have the impact that Wii did. It should be on the Rushmore for the same reason it's NES over SNES and PS1 over PS2 (though that one is much more debatable). My beginning hour of time has left me feeling like an old man, overwhelmed by all the controls, pop ups, etc. The amount of shit I see popping up in the upper left corner is a bit overwhelming: get a haircut, change your clothes, race planes or some shit. There's like 2 dozen radio stations?!? I'm doing the first real mission where you have to steal the bike, and I'm driving after him when he runs, and it took way (way, way, way, waaaaaaay) longer than it should for me to aim and shoot that idiot off the bike (after chasing him literally MILES out of town). Playing on PS5, btw. It actually uses the adaptive triggers, which is nice...I guess? I had an issue trying to switch characters during the prologue. It kept telling me to hold down on the D-Pad and use the right stick but that just did not work. Eventually I realized the touch pad could get the job done to switch. Seanchan 04/21/24 5:40:44 PM #157	Couldn't get a 147.5 OHP done today. Was a little shocked, as I'd easily gotten 145 last week and I hit all my work sets today up to that point. Gonna try a light day next time and see if that's enough to get me going again. Looks like 145 is my personal best, at least in the numbers I see in the last few years. "Heavy" Zercher set up to 7 @ 190. Felt really good and no hip/glute issues. I've really come to like the Zerchers, though we'll see if that's still true if I'm able to add another 50 pounds onto it. My right forearm is still not feeling great on some movements.
