Granted, this is coming from someone in GameFAQs core demographic...so probably missing some more modern stuff. But you look down this list and you're like, man, I'd really like to see how they stack up against "our" video game characters. Video games versus Pop Culture: The Showdown! Half the entrants from video games, half from Pop Culture. You could stretch and do 64 for each but I'm thinking 32 per side so you're only taking the best of the best. | Seanchan 12/14/18 2:29:02 PM #474 | My favorite part of adding comic/movie characters will be when Mario ekes by Spider-man and Samus 60/40s Vader, and everyone's all like "THIS IS THE YEAR SHE DOES IT" and then Mario beats her again by like 50 votes. :p But seriously, I totally understand why adding non-game characters makes sense. I think it would be fun but I also think we're guaranteed to get another Draven/Undertale situation where something like Jar Jar Binks gets joke rallied and "ruins" the contest. At some point though it just is what it is. If you want to keep it just to video game characters then something needs to be done to spice it up. ...I'm just at a loss for what that would be. --- Smelling roses and sipping Champagne. |

Thankfully, we didn't get any contest "ruining" outside rallies (i.e. Draven and Undertale). Yet we still had unexpected results from the runs of Zelda, Tifa, Tails, Alucard, Geralt, etc. Plus, the Losers bracket stuff was neat and let us see some extra matchups, even if it would have been better if the ordering had been reversed from Legends. --- Smelling roses and sipping Champagne. |

Multiplying the registered votes by three or four would be considerably more effective. Any chance you can do a last minute change on that? What he could do is not count the 2nd vote for registered users until after the poll has closed. Imagine a poll where Character A is winning by 500 votes at poll close because of rallies. Then the registered votes are added in and suddenly Character B wins by 50 votes. It blunts the efforts of rallies to completely override the will of the GameFAQs users. --- Smelling roses and sipping Champagne. |
