It's pretty much this. Even if they do the withdrawal they've claimed they are doing (they haven't yet) the troops and equipment are still in the region. They haven't been returned to the place they were transferred in from.

You don't move that many troops and that much heavy equipment without planning something. Even for a huge training exercise (which it wasn't). That kind of shit is expensive and time consuming. And you certainly don't move the logistical infrastructure required to manage an invasion, especially huge amounts of medical supplies including field hospitals.

It's mostly this. If you spend enough time studying American history in places like South and Central America you'll find that we are the baddies 99% of the time. So people extrapolate from that and essentially take a counter position that anytime America is involved the other side is the good guy.

What people need to understand is that yes, we've done absolutely horrible shit for the entirety of our history, but that doesn't change the narrative here. We do occasionally end up on the right side of things. Ukraine deserves it's independence and the US guaranteed it's sovereignty in the Budapest Memorandum.
